Also, :D

You got that right!!!!!!!!!!
good- they are only playing 2 shows before it releases. shouldnt be any recordings to tempt me. When EU was released, they had played almost the entire album for almost 3 months. when it comes to MMJ, i have zero will power and had you tube clips running until EU was released.
i bet it's the album cover...i think it's awesome...new desktop background. check

I should look for that thread when the evil urges artwork came out. That would probably be a funny read.

I remember everyone not wanting to believe it was really the artwork. Including me. Looking back now, I'm not sure why I thought it was so important anyway. It's just album art right? ;D

The guy on the Evil Urges cover must be our own Sticky Icky Green Stuff!
He gave it away when he posted the picture below, likely a cropped image taken by Patrick during the photo shoot.
Note the look of serene satisfaction on his face. He must be gazing across the theater at the Jacket.
Note the use of a bright light to illuminate the boys in the balcony across the way, and how it creates the silouette effect from behind.
Note the one shoulder higher than the other, due to his holding the light.
Mystery solved.

May 31 is the day after I return from a 10 day trip to Norway to see family (and the fucking amazing scenery). I took that day off to recover from jet lag, and now I'll be able to wake up peacefully, grab a giant coffee, hit my local record store and spend the rest of the day rocking out to brand new MMJ! What a perfect way to be welcomed back home to the USA (I won't be so bummed about having to come back, haha).

Interesting. Not exactly how I envisioned this so called "wild card" but I think it's alright. It has horns and non member backing vocals so does this mean more Bo vocal sampling live? I think so.
EDIT: Thanks Run Thru  So I'm assuming this is the 1st single if its availability is listed as possibly 4/26 and is already posted?

It fits the description reported by RS but Amazon lists it as being 4 mins 19 secs so it has time to shapeshift into some interesting places. I like it based on the 30 sec clip, I bet it'll be released Monday.
Purity Ring popped open! Sorry guys, shouldve never made that promise ;D
it has a 60's james bond kind of vibe. i dig it.

Whoa, that sounds really cool! The production sounds more like the It Still Moves era rather than the last two albums.

i saw this post from my cell phone as i was coming in from being outside working in the yard.. my desktop computer was a non option as the wireless mouse battery was dead.. i came up and kicked off my dirt covered flip flops and landed on my bed with my laptop and fired up the sample.. since i wanted the full surround sound effect i laid my face straight down as close to the keyboard and right between my laptop speakers.. by 10 seconds into the preview i had my nose pressing down on the "H" key and i was all sprawled out and getting dirt in my bed..
fuck now i have to go wash my sheets ;D ;D

Exactly Seth. And I think it will all make sense the first time you hear it live.
Track #1 "circuital" released on Tuesday for record store day.
Track #2 "holdin on to black metal" as first official single on April 26.
I bet it will be the first two songs played at hangout...
this is pretty cool.....

Wow! Classic MMJ. Reminds me a bit of Masterplan, but that Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In) comparison is great.
Also, awesome cover. Hope it's for the album!
...and another thing. Does this mean it's down to this song and Circuital being released on Tuesday?
this is perfect mmj. a old sound that attracted me to them 10 short years ago. i cant wait for circuital! jim, tommy, pat, bo and carl- you make the best music and i am counting down the days until may 31st!
The production of this goes back to ISM, which excites me. This album is going to have an old meets new vibe, me thinks. I posted on some thread here a long time ago that this album is going to be like "it still moves, but not". I think I may have been right. Which is cool, because I'm never right about anything.

that is a sweet ass cover. way better than the evil urges cover art. haven't listened to the 30second clip, nor will I. waiting for the full effect for this album. this one is going to be big. in a couple months all your friends who have been MMJ deniers will slowly be showing new found affection for the band. The naysayers will flock when Circuital is released, prepare yourselves.

Have to agree with this. I'm desperately hoping for a Dondante type song that will blow our brains right out our skulls when perfromed live
I wonder if we're going to get a full album announcement on Tuesday, complete with album art and a tracklist. After all, it is the countdown to Circuital, not just a song from Circuital... unless that song just happens to be Circuital ;).

def digging the horns!
this sounds goooooooooooood
Y'know, I told myself I would hold off on listening to the album until its official release and yet went to hear the sample on Amazon without hesitation. I guess what I meant is, I won't seek out illegal, leaked tracks.
Also, after hearing this little 10-20 second snippet, my imagination continued the song in my head and it was an epic jam, powerful guitar and horns and just awesome!
I'm hoping if my imagination can conjure up such a thing, it might turn out to be a surprisingly poignant track. Maybe I'm setting myself up for disappointment, but I doubt it.
I don't want to hear samples. I'm afraid I'll get a massive case of blue ears.

Ha, I did the same thing. No will power when it comes to this band whatsoever.
The hook on that bassline is so badass and could also be what takes them to sold out arena show status. If it's the first single we could be in for a smells like teen spirit type of reaction.

I hope that's not the case. I'm not even sure how the music industry works these days. Can a band that is really a legit band and doesn't go out of thier way to make themselves a comodity even become super huge at this point. In some ways I want the world to embrace mmj because it could only make the world a better place. In some ways I just want them to fly under the radar because it would make for better shows and cut out a bunch of bullshit.
