Nice Jones, forgot about that one! Me likely the cover art
Looking forward to the new Springsteen album due out early in 12.
Real curious to see the direction he goes without the Big Man. No horns, less horns, or even a whole horn section?
Tour should be interesting too, but a bit sad for some of us seasoned vets.
I'm with you on the Ween and J. Roddy, too.

Yeah, I've been hearing that too. Bruce and MMJ at the same fest (not to mention all the rest) might just be my own little slice of Heaven.
Sharon Van Etten's new one. Saw her open for Iron & Wine earlier this year. Listen to a track here.

As far as comfirmed shiz, its hands down Delta Spirit and Dr Dog.
After a somewhat disappointing 2011, I have a feeling 2012 will blow my mind like 2010 and both DS and Dr Dog will be in my top 5 albums of the year

Looking forward to a lot of the aboe. Also, Frank Turner's got a release early next year...
On January 16, 2012, Turner will release 'Second Three Years', an album featuring live material as well as cover versions, b-sides and 'lost songs' from the past three years. It will include live versions of the traditional folk song 'Barbara Allen' and 'Father's Day' as well as cover versions of Bruce Springsteen, Nirvana and NOFX songs and BBC Radio 1 session tracks.
And a headlining show at Wembley Arena in London in April.

Interesting. I didn't know this was coming. I knew about the show as was trying to figure out how to make the planets align and how to rig the lottery so I could win so I could hit that. But I'll settle for my show at a little club that I'm guessing maybe 150 people will be at.
justin townes earle, trampled by turtles and typical cats
Andrew Bird has a new one coming out.
ELVIS PERKINS IN DEARLAND. I am pretty sure I heard they were completing their next album at the second half of this year.
Also any full length from DOM would be nice.
FUTUREBIRDS!

FUTUREBIRDS!
Saw them last night. They played a few new songs. I forgot to ask them when a new album would be out after the show though...
I didn't know Band of Horses has one coming out next year. That's great.... I'll add them to my list.
Pearl Jam, Pinback, Delta Spirit, Yim Yames, B of H
Simone Felice has a new record coming out in April, produced by one of the Mumford dudes I think.

When I saw them on their little mini tour after the KoL tour fell apart, Ben said that they had almost finished recording their next record, so one would have to assume it would be out sometime in 2012.
This is completely nothing but wishful thinking, but how about a new Phosphorescent record, please.

Diamond Rugs
Dr. Dog!!!!!!!!
Delta Spirit
Yim Yames
Pearl Jam
Someone said Band of Horses, if thats actually likely than that too.
If there are two things I would want more than anything in the world, more than even the Jacket, they would be Yim Yames and Monsters of Folk. I would easily give back Circuital for a Yim album. Also, IMO (going out on a limb here), I think MoF is the more flawless record of all time. Of. All. Time. It's without a doubt my most listened to, other than maybe Ten. And thats only because I've been listening to Ten for so many years.

Craig Finn's solo album is coming out next month. I really like the two songs on the single he released. The new hold steady could also be released this year, I know they are already writing for it.

Forgot about these hopefuls for 2012:
Gary Clark, Jr.

A new Mars Volta album? It's been 2 yrs already, why not:
Mars Volta returns in epic and unexpected fashion with its sixth album: Noctourniquet, which will be released March 27 by Warner Bros.
While Noctourniquet was, in typical Mars Volta fashion, written by Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Cedric Bixler-Zavala and produced by Rodriguez-Lopez, the 13-track album explores musical territories previously uncharted in the duo's 20 or so years of creating music together.
The spectrum of musical and emotional textures conceived and created by Rodriguez-Lopez on Noctourniquet ranges from the opening bombast of "The Whip Hand" to the menacing crawl of "The Malkin Jewel" punctuated throughout by hypnotic melodies and borderline electro-ambient washes, most notably in the epic "In Absentia."
As with previous Mars Volta efforts, Bixler-Zavala's lyrics trace a narrative journey with a defined protagonist, this time inspired by disparate elements including '80s UK alt-rockers The Godfathers, Superman comic nemesis Solomon Grundy and the Greek myth of Hyacinthus.
Noctourniquet was performed by The Mars Volta lineup of Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, Cedric Bixler-Zavala, Juan Alderete de la Pena, Marcel Rodriguez Lopez, and Deantoni Parks.
Tracklisting
1.) The Whip Hand
2.) Aegis
3.) Dyslexicon
4.) Empty Vessels Make the Loudest Sound
5.) The Malkin Jewel
6.) Lapochka
7.) In Absentia
8.) Imago
9.) Molochwalker
10.) Trinkets Pale of Moon
11.) Vedamalady
12.) Noctourniquet
13.) Zed and Two Naughts
Sleigh Bells is the album that I'm most looking forward to in 2012 - well, at least in early 2012.
Tomorrow, Rodrigo y Gabriela and Porcelain are releasing albums. Excellent!

From what I've heard the new Mark Lanegan sounds excellent - one week to go!
Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band have an outtakes album coming out called "One of My Kind". Half of the songs have been released already on the Gentlemens Pact ep, and there are live versions of the title track floating around.
