Any fan club presale?
No one knows.
I think we will know soon. Hopefully Monday.
I keep checking in for the same info. I think we'll hear Tuesday. Over the spring and summer they would give a one day warning or tweet saying something along the lines of "look out for an announcement tomorrow" and then we'd all get the news the next day.
If I were ever on a call w/ MMJ's management, I'd tell them one of the annoying things are the surprise announcements "tix go on sale tomorrow!" ... it's months away, and the shows have been planned for months, why the urgency? Give us some time to plan for the sale!
I absolutely agree with that statement! Give us some notice! I hate the last minute surprises!
I really wish I could see the Wilten setlists before I commit to buying Roll Call tickets. It's a big leap with the no-transfer thing
waiting sorta patiently. sorta...

Well, I hope the fact that they announced the Wiltern will have no repeats deters any thoughts of not going to the capitol shows good sir!
They'll probably announced something after this leg of the tour is completed. I wonder if they're lining up other dates as well before the Holiday Run.
Anyone else a little antsy that the shows are not listed on the Cap site, or Ticketfly anymore?

wow, that's weird!!!
not sure what gives?
FYI- I just called the Capitol Theater and they said the MMJ shows are STILL going on in late December. She said the ad would be back up on the website soon.
No cause for alarm folks.
maybe they took them down to coincide with an official show announcement from the band????

Good job Jeff.
I figured they were still on, just maybe changing the onsale or trying to coordinate a Roll Call presale. Or possibly letting the band officially announce the shows.

Will you be "aiming for seats" because of your experience or someone else's in the general admission pit area?
Port Chester shows are officially up on the band's "Tour Dates" section. Special guests TBA.
NO repeats at the Cap as per the band's homepage!
NYE will not be part of the spontaneous curation as to keep the night full of surprises.
So is this the new Cap shows thread? So pumped about this. Any idea about 3-night packages or do we just buy the tix individually? So excited. :cheesy:
uhhhhhh

Now that the shows are finally official, the logistics of getting tickets becomes a priority.
Been a while since I bought Roll Call tickets -- does that "Tickets" box on the official events page become clickable when they go on sale? I guess we still need an exact time for the Roll Call on-sale too!

Shouldn't be a problem for me to buy 1 or 2 extra tickets. Well, I might need to cover for GO4IT, but if not I could cover for you. Just let me know how many tickets, and I know you'll be good paying me back.

Would the 3-show package thing imply that these will be GA shows or has that already been specified? Would they sell such packages with the same seat each night?

Don't get too excited about that, big boy. Some of us still haven't got our Red Rocks downloads to work and we've just given up. this is gonna be fun
i'm trying to figure this out...coming from alabama it is absolutely pointless to do one or the other...i can work some overtime therefore the finances aren't the issue it's the logistics...original plan was to fly into new hampshire on the 30th stay with the yacster and his lovely family then he and i were heading to boston the next day...yac has already told me with the no repeats that he will not be offended in any way if i choose portchester instead of coming to new hampshire before...now i just need to figure out lodging and stuff for pc and the day inbetween...times like this i hate living in the south...but then i say roll tide and it's all better and i remember where i belong
probably just gonna buy a ticket to all the shows and try to sell them if i back out...which i don't think is gonna happen
I'm in somewhat the same boat Seth. I'm thinking about doing just the last PC show if thats all that finances allow.
If it makes or breaks peoples likeliness of attending anything. Caroline and I would be happy to split hotel rooms with up to 4 people total (so 2 on top of us 2.)
edit: figuratively on top, not literally

Question. I haven't pulled the trigger on Roll Call this year so if I bought a membership tonight, would I be good for Roll Call ticket purchase on Wednesday?
Yes, you would be fine. I'm seriously considering switching my end of the year plans from Boston to Port Chester. The no-repeats is really pulling me in.
hahaha...in all likelihood i will have to work at some point the first part of the week because of the way we do our holiday schedule at work...i requested off all of new years eve and day and will for sure get it but i'll have to take a couple vacation days for the 27-29...eric it's looking like i may only be able to do the last pc show as well...might be able to pull all three off but with family christmas and everything it will be hard...eric i would gladly share a room with caroline and yourself...i think beth sent you a msg...we r trying to work something out

Live in Port Chester and was only planning on doing the first show, but this might change things!
Just joined the Roll Call now. What do the shirt and screen print look like?
if you live there and don't go to all three you should never come back to this board or to the band's website ever again...unless financially and logistically you can't make it happen.
Not being an ass when i say that either
hahaha, i know, i know. before these were even announced, the plan was to visit my wife's family in rochester Friday-Monday and catch the Bills-Jets game in Buffalo that Sunday. That left us only Thursday ... sigh.
We already have tickets to five other shows at The Cap so far, seeing as how we're only a mile away. Its opening has caused a serious dent in the wallet!

Any suspicion how much the three-night packages will be for Port Chester? Based on Ticketfly.com, it looks like the GA Floor will be $56 before fees, so maybe in the $175 range after the groundCTRL fees?

Yeah it was. It was the main reason I grabbed it in the hopes I could swing it work wise. Figured it was about the same cost as one less Bruce show I'd get to if I ended up eating it. Work schedule didn't work out this time so it looks like no Bruce in DC for me.
Looking forward to tossing one back with you Joey.
Any word yet on whether there will be sound checks for these shows?

It will be interesting to see what's in the travel packages. Good thing I haven't signed any agreements yet with the hotels.
who are cid entertainment? have they done anything in the past with the band/ground ctrl?
Not sure if they've been involved with the band or ground ctrl but here's what I found on their site:

oh okay. so CID would offer packages, but it wouldn't necessarily be an official "Roll Call" deal?
thanks for posting!
Any chance we can get info about GA/seated options and what the ticket purchase maximum is for roll call prior to tomorrow at noon? And are we to purchase tickets thru the "Roll Call VIP" or the "Tickets" icon next to the show date? CC?
CID did a package for Merriweather in 2010. Hotel, poster, pre-show drinks/buffet, bus to venue.

I so WANT to be a glass half full optimist, not a complainer. But WHY isn't info like this available to us? Things like what the seating looks like and whether we can buy 2 or 4 at once make a big difference when planning a show w/ friends.

Roll Call VIP to buy a soundcheck package.
I believe that's how it usually works.
Limit has been 4 in the past.

Are people going to look into the travel packages or book their own trips, including hotels? Just wondering for planning purposes and what to do with the hotel in Rye.
With the Soundcheck option, where we get a poster anyway, not sure if the travel package will be worth. Obviously, costs will be a deciding factor.
Never done a soundcheck package. They include posters in that? And if so....are the posters the ones from that specific show that are purchased at the merch tents? Or is it a more generic poster?
NorthernNeighbour - I'll almost certainly be booking with you. Can't imagine the packages being much cheaper in terms of hotels. I guess we'll know more tomorrow.

For this tour, the posters given out at the soundchecks have been the same ones sold for the concert. In the majority of cases, the price of the soundcheck ticket has been roughly $5 or $10 more than the price of the poster. For example, soundcheck tickets have been $40, and you get a poster. Posters alone were $30 or $35. In the case of Red Rocks, however, the Soundcheck ticket was $40 and the poster was $45, so people who went to the Soundcheck got a great deal.

Wow this sounds absolutely amazing. I had planned on getting a poster no matter what anyway so if I buy ahead of time i'll also get a soundcheck as well? haha. So cool. Thanks for the help
I'm interested to see what the travel package costs and what it includes. I, too, can't see it being cheaper since the packages are usually per person.
There's also the issue of soundchecks, so how would transport work, especially if the hotel is in the city, and whether a dinner is still included. The latter is of no concern to me since I don't like eating a big meal before shows.

Yeah, I'd be curious to see how the soundcheck will work... it's one thing to have to leave MPP after soundcheck and tailgate back in the lot on a gorgeous day.... Will they ask us to leave the Cap until doors? Might be a bit chilly in the dead of winter!! Unless of course there is an establishment close by selling delicious libations!

I (we?) forgot about that part of the Forum. So asking questions here isn't the right place and may not be seen by Ground(Ctrl). There is a topic about Port Chester with similar questions going on in that link, so hopefully the right people see it and respond.

I wouldn't assume there is a soundcheck option. There is a "Roll Call VIP" option next to every show in the Roll Call or Events part of the website, but they only offered the option on a few shows.
For instance, right now that icon is clickable for the Greek Theater date but not the other ones.

You could probably still do most of the Phish MSG run depending on if they do three or four nights. Last year Phish did MSG 12/29- 1/1 if I remember right.

They're probably not doing a 1/1 show this year then. If it was the same as last year you could skip Phish night 1, and have a nice run of shows between the two! Three each. If it's the 28th - 31st, then you got some decisions to make if you're a Phish Phan too.

You can select your tickets and add them to your cart. Then you can go back and add soundcheck tickets to your cart. Past experience was that we were given 20 minutes to complete our orders.
You can also submit 2 different orders - buy tickets first and then soundcheck.

Just got this e-mail. Someone let me know if this shouldn't be posted here and I'll remove it:
My Morning Jacket will take the stage of the historic Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY for three consecutive nights in continuation of their Spontaneous Curation Series. To keep with the spirit of the series, no songs will repeat for each of these performances. The renowned landmark, built in 1926, once housed acts such as The Grateful Dead (18 years in a one-year span from 1970-1971), Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, David Bowie, The Dead, among others and was was recently re-opened this past year.
Every Port Chester ticket buyer will receive a complimentary download of the show to be delivered shortly after each show. Each night will be part of the Spontaneous Curation Series, allowing fans to help create each night's setlist and no songs will be repeated.
Two days later, My Morning Jacket will make their way up the east coast for an unforgettable New Year's Eve performance at Agganis Arena, with support for the ledgendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band. The special New Years Eve show will not take part of the Spontaneous Curation Series in order to ensure an evening full of surprises.
The dates and accompanying Spontaneous Curation Series hastags are as follows:
12/27 Port Chester, NY at The Capitol Theatre #mmjPC1
12/28 Port Chester, NY at The Capitol Theatre #mmjPC2
12/29 Port Chester, NY at The Capitol Theatre #mmjPC3
12/31 Boston, MA at Agganis Arena
Roll Call Presale tickets for all four shows will be available TODAY, Wednesday 9/12 at noon ET at mymorningjacket.com/events. All tickets are Will Call Only.

I know, so glad to have the forum back, and awesome to see you again! Only one night at the Cap for us, and then NYE in Boston. Ya know, life gets in the way of all this concert stuff sometimes! Good luck and see you in December!
Will the option to click "Tickets" for these Cap shows go live right at noon? Because the fact that I cant click them now is kinda scaring me, am I not signed in or something
Ill be there the 29th at least
Also...When is last call in Port Chester?
3-day packages sold out for anyone else? I literally just got on.
how the fuck is it sold out in 1 minute?
tickets acquired for night 1
that was painless!
SUPER STOKED!
I'm just gonna keep reloading, has to be an error.
all general admissions sold out when i checked at 12:00, everything gone at 12:02
Really disappointed right now. Wow. Keep hitting refresh hoping for something
Um? Yeah, glad I took an early lunch to stare at a sold out sign at 12:00
I was able to get a 3day pass with relative ease.
why can't I get on Roll call VIP...i hate this fucking system
there must be a serious low number available. the recent show in brooklyn felt almost empty.
Yep, got shut out as well. Too much time focusing on the NYE show I guess.
Ah well, two more onsales to try our luck again. And let's all keep hitting refresh and hope we get some love.
Got my "3 Day Package "...   :cheesy:

Success! I got a three day pass. It doesn't say it, but surely these are GA? Also those of you are shut out, try later. This happened with Red Rocks too.
So much for the roll call pre-sale
Yeah, the 3-day passes are all sold out.
I can't believe all the loge and balcony seats are sold out already!! I guess I'm not making the trip now...
Piece of cake. 3 GA tix for the 1st night!
so if you were trying to do both there is absolutely no way you could have gotten pc and boston...i tried boston first but clearly i should have tried pc

just click on a different night, i had to try 27, 28, and finally got it on the 29th
got a 3 day
Keep trying - the system was overloaded during the last presale too!

WTF?! I was on there at 12 sharp and went to purchase 2 of the 3-day packages and it told me that exceeded the limit??? When I tried it again it said sold out??? Wow?! Glad I dropped 50 bucks for the Roll Call Membership for this bullshit???
yup all sold out for me too. god dammit
i hate this system...it never fucking works...fuck everything
I would also like to urge people to continue trying. Got some GAs to finally show up at about 12:08
Keep trying! This happened last May too.

Anyone know if 3-night passes are available later? Or only on this pre-sale?
got my 3-day pass at 12PM on the dot and was checked out by 12:02pm. SKU # refers you to Balcony tix so I emailed ground ctrl to make sure the pass is GA. very fortunate to be one of the lucky ones.
Got shut out of this one.

They were single nights, not the 3Days, sorry, I shoulda clarified that.
was able to pick up 2 gas for the 27th, after it said sold out for a while. probably the only one i will be hitting up.
Was able to pull 2 in the loge for the 28th & 29th. Went back to gander at the 27th and nada.
Grnd cntrl still fucking blows ass!!!
I NEED A 3-DAY PASS! lol. refreshing for 15 minutes but nothing :( Really sad if I can't get 3 GA tickets to these
Ugh...shut out completely. Hopefully I'll have some luck on Friday.
It looks like my joke about the only bad thing about the recent shows is it would convert many new fans and make it harder to get tix, isn't so funny anymore. :lipsrsealed:
damn so it seems like more people on here got shut out of the 3-day pass than actually got one?! That's just not fucking right
man, that was stressful.
Got what I needed for 27th, 28th, but missed out on the 29th. Will keep trying today and if not, take a swing on Friday.
Kinda want Loge or Balcony for the last night. My old man knees would be happy.
Roll Call, unlike other fan clubs I've joined, has never let me down. Now if this stands that would no longer be the case.
Seeing all these shutouts reminds me of the RCMH sale. These NYC area theatre shows sell quickly apparently.
Kinda ruined the rest of my day lol. I was so amped to get these and be happy the whole day. Now i'm starting to worry I'll be shut out from these shows completely.
Aw, sold out so fast!

combined with an 1800-ish capacity
What a fiasco.
Yeah I'm thinking there just weren't that many tickets available for these shows. Factor in the small capacity of the theater, the very small fraction of that capacity being available for purchase and a very large amount of people trying to get tickets and you're going to get a lot of disappointed folks.
Still disappointing though...
Had my heart set on that 3-day pass.
Do they still sell 3-day passes in regular sales or is that a roll call pre-sale only thing?
i completely disagree...all of the above reasons as to why there weren't tickets available would not explain why it was sold out at 12:00pm
I have to leave the next day for Rochester/Buffalo, but I'm thinking maybe an MMJ pregame party at my house (one mile away) for the Thursday show?
In the coming weeks I'll post some of the BEST of Port Chester and surrounding area stuff so you guys can make a hit list!

That's my question as well. I don't want to try and waste my time on Friday trying to get tix for 2 nights and then get shut out of the 3rd night or something along those lines?!
Very disappointed right now... :undecided:
SO FUCKING SAD RIGHT NOW

I agree with most of this, but leaning more towards Ticketfly not making many tix available to the fan club pre sale. I don't think there was an abnormally large group trying for tix, just not many to be had.
Every now and then 1 GA ticket will pop up or 1 balcony ticket. I keep refreshing for 3-day passes but I'm starting to accept this terrible fate :(

well since ur cart holds it for 20min...if the max was reached in that first 30 seconds it would avert to "sold out" until tix were dropped from ppl's carts after 20min, etc.
i still agree it shouldnt have sold out in 2min but then again we dunno how many tix were alotted to fan club w/1800 seat capacity per night
I wrote Ground (Ctrl) and asked if there was an error and if there wasn't how many tickets were available for the 3 day package. If I get a reply I will post it on here.

True, but Phish fans don't pay a fee to be part of a club that is supposed to help them get these kind of pre-sale tickets. That's where a lot of my frustration comes in. One of the main reasons I do these fan club things is the easier access to tickets.
after a ton of refreshing I was able to pull 1 3day pass, a GA for night 1 and a GA for night 3.
SO IM LOOKING FOR A GA NIGHT 2 OR ELSE MY GIRLFRIEND WILL BE GOING WITH OUT ME

Agreed with the above comments...
these tickets are available to a limited # of people (not everyone who wants to go is a Roll Call member)
I pay for the right to have access to these tickets earlier than anyone.
I'm on at 12:00pm and it tells me that the package is sold out....its as if I never even had a chance
I'm frustrated because on Friday at 10am, I will be sitting in a dentist's chair with dental tools in my mouth, and thus unable to purchase tickets for these shows.
I don't care about the general public and withholding tickets for them (if that was what happened)...I pay my Roll Call membership fees so that I don't have to fight with the general public to get tickets.

About to give up. Refresh isn't working for me. Really hope they have 3-days in the real sale or that I'll at least be able to get 3 GA's separately.
In case anyone cares to know...I spoke at length with Ground Control about the issues today.
I spoke with a woman named Kristen (just one of their sales individuals) and she informed me that they are sold out of the 3day passes for today, but that 3 day passes would be available on Friday for the sale, which will be at 10amEST on Friday.
They would not tell me how many 3 day ticket packages they had available today (I asked).
The woman who manages their MMJ account is named Vanessa (in case any of you wanted to speak directly with her). They would not let me talk with her (it seemed as though they were shielding her from my rage)
They did kindly refund a NYE ticket that I purchased and no longer wanted though.
Thanks for the post.
Good to know, Haldon, thanks for doing that. I think enough of the 3-day passes will be available on Friday to get us taken care of. I know I'm going to be late for my 9am meeting that day.

Thanks for the info! Glad that the 3 day passes will still be available on Friday! Hoping for better luck then.

If I can't get my hands on 3 GA tickets on Friday (either through the package or regular tix) I'll scream my face off.
I feel pretty fortunate that I was able to get 3 day passes for me and mrs. hh but fyi, based on past history, I would guess that RC was allotted no more than 10-20% of all available tix for the pre-sale. When you factor in some for 3 day passes and the individual shows, that is not a lot of tickets for a small theater that holds only 1800 (plus ya gotta figure some tix are reserved for guests of the band/management/theater).
I would think that for everyone who tries to get tix on Friday and get's on right as they go on sale should have lots more success.
This is a small and intimate venue for a band that could sell out MUCH larger places. Don't give up trying.
See you on the rail.
I can't say that I'm too positive in scoring tickets for these shows after today's cluster****. Probably should start making alternative plans for the holidays.

We can have our own party elsewhere, maybe in the City, and live vicariously through everyone at the shows.

Ben- in order to help keep the peace between our 2 great nations and prevent a potential global conflict that could cause millions of lives and casualties, I will make it my mission to help you and Carol get tix when they go on sale on Friday.
So let it be written. So let it be done.
Thanks for the post Haldon.
Totally agree with you Jeff. It's been my experience that most bands only get 8-10 % of tix for their fan club, and those are spread out over all the available sections. For all we know Ticketfly might have even given them less. That's my feeling anyway.
We should be able to do much better on Friday,IMO.

a voice of reason.
Just make sure you have a Ticketfly (this is not a ticketbastard venue) account and are signed in with plenty of time on Friday.

There ya go!
I have one question about Friday. On the band's homepage, they have it listed that tix will go on sale at 10 am edt, but when I went to the Ticketfly page and searched My Morning Jacket, the shows came up but the link for ticket purchases says that tix go on sale at 12 pm edt. I'm going to call my favorite peeps at grnd ctrl to find out what gives?
Thanks Jeff. We hope you and Beth can make it to Boston.
Also, regarding PC, there are plenty of others who didn't get tickets, so I suggest a group effort.
WRT ticket sales for PC on Friday, I talked with someone at grnd ctrl and they said that they weren't sure why there was a discrepancy in the times for ticket sales but they would assume that the 12 pm time listed on TicketFly's website would be the correct time. But she did say to check MMJ's homepage sometime this evening and the correct time would be updated...

did you ask about the presale debacle?
UPDATE: my friend called ground(ctrl) and they said they had very very few tix for the shows. Early entries will be honored with ticketfly tix.
Oh yay, I can stop refreshing like a maniac.
While I'm very happy for those of you that got your tickets, I am also feeling somewhat aggrieved that not all of us did. I renewed my Roll Call membership solely for access to the special Roll Call members only pre-sales (as I'm sure is the case for most). What good is a "first access" VIP pass if you can't even get tickets to the show? Which means I paid how much for a t-shirt???
I agree with Haldon - I don't care about them having tickets for the regular sale on Friday. Why should someone who didn't pay a membership fee have an equal chance at tickets as those of us who did pay? I just don't see the logic there.
Anyway, I'm really pissed right now, sorry for the rant.
I hope that that those of us who were shut out today have success on Friday
Roll Call Package- Purchase one T-shirt for $40 and receive a free poster. Click on the presale tickets link to any show and we will guarantee you miss your entire lunch break AND throw in a FREE headache for your troubles.
Note: You cannot actually purchase tickets through the Roll Call Presale; tickets will be provided by ticketmaster two days later during the GA sale. Thanks for joining
I kid, I kid...kinda

LOL! Sounds like a MasterCard commercial...
Joining Roll Call with the hopes of obtaining tickets to what should be an epic 3 night run by My Morning Jacket at the historic Palace Theater... Forty Dollars...
Getting shut out of said tickets within the first minute they went on sale and settling on the fact that you just paid forty dollars for a t-shirt and a poster... Priceless! :cheesy:

exactly!!
I'm very sorry to everyone who couldn't get tickets today... my record for fan club presales is only .500 all time and was .000 before this year.
But I would like to get the ball rolling and get some feedback, who would be into Sooner on 12/27?
(also, my forum account was deleted when they switched formats! what gives?)
Not trying to beat a dead horse, but I did say I would post when Grd Cntrl got back to me. They did last night via email, but no new information that hasn't been posted here in the meantime. Good luck to everybody today!!
Round 2 in half an hour. Come on. Gotta get my tix
Good luck all!
Yes... Good luck everyone! Hope we can fill that Roll Call page today!
I'm nervous as hell right now!!! :cheesy: Need one of these:
Really hoping it goes smoothly. Good luck all :cheesy:
Alright folks, I've got a 3-day pass in my cart for the next 8 minutes if anyone who was going for one didn't have any luck.
Just got my 3-day pass! So much easier than last time. No problems. Hope all works out for others.
2 3-DAY PASSES PURCHASED WITH EASE -
legendary shows coming up!!!
I'm in!!! Two 3-day passes! See you in December!!!
I just released my three-day pass and picked up another TWO (in the cart for another 9ish minutes), but I don't see why anyone who logged on right at 10AM would have a problem. Hopefully now everyone is happy and the negativity that was so prevalent on here earlier in the week will disappear!
damn - meant to get Loge but got 3 GAs for Saturday. Will be interested in trade for 3 Loges next to each other.

Same here. Let me know if anyone needs it.
My cart expired but I'm having no trouble pulling up four 3-night passes. Sweet loge seats still available too!
A lot easier!!! Thank God! 2- 3 day tix
We hope everyone who came up short in the fan club pre sale was fulfilled today! We'd initially went for the 3 day passes on Wednesday, but they were gone, so we had to go it one show at a time. Got Boston and the first 2 nights in PC through the fan club no problem, thankfully we got night 3 of PC today in the general public sale. Can't wait, this will make 15 times for me and I think 17 for my husband over the last 3 years!
I have 2 extra 3 Day passes for any forum member who needs.
At cost.
1st come- 1st served. PM me if you need.
Still pulling 3-day passes easily.
Seems like everyone saying that it was a tiny amount of tix in the pre-sale were right.

Good to know! After Wednesday I'm glad to be in the building... but now I'm super stoked I was able to pull what I wanted!!
I thought Ticketfly went so much better than TM,Tickets.com,ETix, or any other national seller I've used. Never had any problems with Ticketfly or their customer service as well.
One thing I found a little strange today was you could get single show ga's mailed for all three shows, but the 3-day package is will call only. Not sure why that is, but really doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I don't think the total cost for three single ga's mailed was anymore $ aside from the $3.50 or whatever the mailing charge was.
Had I noticed this at first, I would have went the single day mailing route just to have tix in hand, and be able to sell if something caused me to have to bail. No biggie really, done will call plenty, just found this a bit strange, and I'm curious as to why 3-day ga's couldn't be mailed too.

I saw the Loge in person the other night - it's literally less than 100 feet from stage and hovers right above the GA floor (which is also ramped providing view for everybody on floor). In sum, the Loge is like you're floating in front of the band
