Pulled third row in the presale for this show. Wowee. Very pleased.
Could have got Orchestra Pit Right, but that is too close for my tastes. I guess I'll wait on General Sale. Grats to all that got tix.
Orchestra left, row E on the center aisle. Just about perfect seats, in my opinion.
Pays to work from home!
Went for Athens first, then after quickly realizing that was a lost cause ended up with Right Front, Row G, first two seats in the row.. So we'll be basically directly in line with Jim, 10 rows back. I'm happy with it.

Would have loved those tix. Grats.
Nice job, Stevie. I thought it was a lost cause since my credit card info was not updated. It took me 10 minutes to locate where to change it, and then rushed to pay for my tickets. Nick of time, man...
Damn, my attempts never showed any being available........did they allot 20 tickets?
Is there going to be any GA for this?
I would recommend you keep trying... as credit cards are declined, seats will come back up. Trust me on this.
Arrrgh, I got through briefly only to see I only had 1 ticket in my cart. I released the ticket, then back to SOLD OUT. Enjoy row G whoever you are.
Keep trying. Patience is sometimes rewarded.
i had to spend my first few minutes at 10 trying to score prince @ the palace tix for this saturday... which i did!!!
got shut out on knoxville. those went fast.

Thanks for the heads up! I got into the balcony for the late show. Now, I just need to secure these Knoxville tickets on Friday.
you and me both.
Got 6th row
Interesting thing... bought two tickets to this show but if i go into my Orders section and click on the link for those tickets (it should take you to the event page for that show, presumably so you have quick access to a seating chart), it takes me to the hangout fest page. Now, i wouldn't worry about this if not for the fact that there is no other information on my order form about what show the tickets are for other than the show code.. which again, is for hangout fest.. it is obvious that they are not hangout fest tickets because they are 45 dollars and have section, row, and seat listed that correspond to the Tennessee Theater. So IDK, anyone else see this? Hopefully they didn't sell me tickets that don't exist.
I have that same issue! Says hangout fest?
I also chose seats together but it gave me this as the order:
Section Pit Left, Row C, Seat 9
Section Pit Left, Row C, Seat 11
So where is this located?? And hoping the seats are just odd numbered and are together??
Regarding the seats, that's common practice at theaters. Your seats are together.
I'm guessing the mixup is because of the overlapping dates of hangout and the tennessee show. Ill try and contact someone though just to make sure.
My order also says Hangout. It's probably just a browser error.
Browser error for sure.
And yeah, ticketing FAQ states that odd number are left and evens on right.

All account confirmations must say Hangout. Any guess on if this is REALLY "the pit" or Orchestra seating?
Will Call Seat(s):
Section Pit Left, Row C, Seat 1
Section Pit Left, Row C, Seat 3
Pit. The seating chart has pit left, right and center.
Your section has no row A, so you are 2nd row, and your seats are on the aisle towards the center. So you should be basically right in front of Carl all night.
I'm an idiot & bought the Roll Call but did not get into the Presale thinking for no apparent reason it was later in the week for this show. Anyone know what's up with "Venue Presale" shown on Ticketmaster for this gig? Looks like I will be trying on Friday for the general.

. Says the same thing for me. I was freaking out that I bought tickets to the wrong show. But on my confirmation email or on my account page it states 2 tix row B center pit in Knoxville. Still freakin out though because on the main page it shows them performing a show at the hangout fest on the 16 th the same date as knoxville.

I am in row b center seats 101 and 102. How come the other guys just say seat 1 and 2 or 9 and 11?
First post on here. Hello. I had to leave work and go to Dairy Queen to use the WiFi. At first no luck but after six or eight tries I got one ticket in Row G seat 27.

I'm pretty sure the other seats are numbered different because they are in the orchestra pit. That's where my seats are as well.
Section Pit Left, Row C, Seat 5
&
Section Pit Left, Row C, Seat 7
It appears there are only 2 and a half rows in the pit, then the regular rows begin.
I missed out on these tickets during the presale... gotta love the presale madness. I noticed that Ticketmaster has a venue presale so I called the TN theater and found out that a venue presale code is included in their newsletter. I signed up for the newsletter but the nice person working at the TN Theater told me that I probably wouldn't get the newsletter in time for tomorrow's presale. Does anyone here get the newsletter and if so, would anyone be kind enough to share the code? Please?
I'm in the same boat. Please share the password if anyone knows it.
Anyone have luck with the venue presale code?

I got an interesting email from ticketmaster regarding this Tennessee Theater show:
Hey live event fan,
Don't worry, your tickets are coming - whether you're printing, going mobile, getting them in the mail, or planning on in-store pickup! This temporary delivery delay just gives us time to run routine checks that ensure all fans get a fair shot at seats, like confirming every buyer is a fan and not a bot, making sure everyone sticks to the ticket limit, etc.
SO... if you're still in the market for a ticket, keep an eye on the ticketmaster site. It seems more tickets will be available if they cancel fraudulent orders.
Yeah, I think the limit is usually 6. Honestly, I think Ticketmaster limits you automatically based on the account you are signed into, so I'm not sure how many people are even able to be over the limit (that Ticketmaster would know about, at least...)

Tenn Theater just released some tickets to anyone that missed out last week!
Thanks!
Just picked up 2 for some buddies
RC - row V...
I'll post here if they can't go
Just picked up 3, thanks! Section ORCRC Row Z Seat 2-6 I only had the will call option though so looks like not transferrable...hopefully I can find 2 others to go with but if not, I'll post here and may have up to two extra tix. My concert-goer friends (aka my wife, brother, cousin, and friend) have been lame or busy lately! They can't make it to Charlotte with me so I might sell my Charlotte tix and go to Knoxville instead...we'll see!
Anyway, thanks for the heads-up on the tix!

Hometown show and I couldn't be more excited! Suttrees high gravity tavern is a few blocks down and amazing.
I don't know if I'll be able to make the pregame but Preservation Pub is also cool. It has three stories and a rooftop bar overlooking Market Square. Suttrees is great but kind of small and crowded.
The Casual Pint is a pretty cool spot. It's got a nice selection there.

you would need to personally pick them up at the box office on show day with photo id and then get them to whomever you are selling them to
:/ well shit. that is what i thought.

Where are the seats? I got the two that I needed from the public sale but I'm always looking to MOVE ON UP. Do you live near Knoxville? If so, maybe you could pick up the tickets before the show, or does the Tennessee Theater only let you pick up on the day of the show?
the seats are good, right orchestra row d seats 2/4/6/8, so i don't want them to go to waste.
i unfortunately don't live near by. gonna be flying into atlanta on the 14th to drive down to athens (where i grew up) for the show on friday. any other ideas are helpful - gonna see what i can do.
Does anyone have lodging recommendations for Knoxville?
I don't want to end up in something like this:

Unfortunately unless you pick up the tix yourself at Will Call, they'll end up going to waste. It's happened to quite a few of us in the past.
It would be great if we were at least able to transfer tix to another Roll Call member but we weren't able to on past tours, and so far there's no change in that policy.
yet another absolutely ridiculous feature of roll call. Punish the fans who have to make a change in plans.

I just looked at this roll call! Excited to see so many of you again! Someone local to Knoxville needs to suggest a close bar to meet up ahead of the show. I'll be carpooling with a group from Athens. I know the theater is close to Market Square, but I'm not sure where the closest/best place to go is.

Yes please suggest. We are doing Athens/Knoxville. Can't wait!

I got SO excited for you guys just reading this. It's going to be a night to remember for sure!
Get excited!! Not only will we experience an evening with The Jacket but Knoxville is hosting the International Biscuit Festival http://biscuitfest.com/biscuit-bash/ (http://biscuitfest.com/biscuit-bash/)
Loads of food venders and American Aquarium is playing for $5 Friday Night if you're already in town and into their sound.
Thoughts on preshow meet up Sat?
Suttrees is walking distance from the theatre and has the best beer in town, but it gets packed.
Icon is unique (it's in the sunsphere) but kind of "stuffy"..... room is also an issue.
I'd say the best spot would be the Preservation Pub and it's sister bar next door Scruffy City. Early birds get the pres pub rooftop which is the place to be.

Preservation Pub looks like a very cool spot from the website so I think that's where me and the hubby will be hanging out pre show. Hope to meet some of you cool cats there!
Just a heads up for anyone still needing tickets... Ticketmaster is sprinkling them around on their website for the last few days. 3 tickets in row N right now. Good luck to everyone still needing tickets...
I've got 2 extra.
RC- Row V.
They're at will call but can meet up pre-show and get them for you.
You can PM me.
Thanks
i have some tickets im willing to trade for athens :cheesy:
figured id give it a shot
The wife and I are staying at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. First time in Knoxville. The Preservation Pub looks awesome. I believe that is where we shall pre-game and receive nourishment before our minds are blown all over the Tennessee Theatre. Soooooo pumped. Safe travels from wherever you embark!

Plus, it sure beats having to stand for that extra time outside. Also, I recently got an extra ticket for my wife that is separate from mine by a few rows. With the early entry, we can mingle a bit or just sit together until everyone else gets let in to claim their seats.
Yes all great points. Don't get me wrong I like the early entry, just wasnt sure if there was some GA I wasn't aware of. Can't wait to see this place.
Recommendations I got from friend in Knoxville....
Food & Bev
Oodles ( Italian)
Cafe 4 (Chicken and Waffles)
Stock and Barrel ( best burgers around)
Preservation Pub. ( roof top beer garden, it is heaven)
Scruffy Music City Hall (there will be after parties from the concert there with live music)
Clancy's Irish Pub
Bar 5 (great snacks there)
Sutree's (high grav bar)
Urban (for late night, best drunk food in town)
Shopping (for the ladeeees)
Fizz
Nothing Too Fancy (t shirts) >>> next door to Casual Pints, another cool bar
Avoid
Downtown Brewery (beer is bad)
Tupelo Honey! (tourist trap)
Skybox
Saphhires

Question....I have roll call but did not use the roll call presale to get my tickets. Would I still have early access or is that only for "roll call" presale tickets?

If you have the regular roll call package (not digital), you should have a laminate that that's what gets you early entry. The tickets can be from anywhere. :)

Sweet, that's what I thought. One more dumbass question, any idea the wife and I could both get in with just one laminate? I'd imagine no but figured I'd ask.
Yes - it gets two people in.

This is going to be so amazing. Especially with it being in Knoxville on a Saturday friggin night. Most of my favorite bands always end up playing in the middle of the week. I peaked two weeks ago, but I'm still riding a bunch of energy. The wife and I are going to see Nick Offerman Friday night at the Ryman in Nashville, then heading back the next morning to let the pregame commence.
Those new to Knoxville who like burgers have to check out Stock & Barrel at Market Square, which is right across the street from the TN Theatre. Try the Hurt Locker!
Additionally, It appears Pres Pub is the go-to for the pregame? Looking forward to maybe running into some of you day of.
Also, random thought...anyone think they'll play Dylan's "Down on the Bottom" from New Basement Tapes?

Don't know if they will play it this night but I think it will definitely make the rotation. It was played for the KCRW broadcast and it seems like the band likes playing it.
They could really kill this song live!!
Have fun all you peeps.

They played it at OBH2, Louisville night 1, and KCRW so it's gonna be in the rotation, for sure.

I'm sure you two will be welcomed with open arms no matter how new to the boards you are. We've all been there at one point.
There's a great group of people on that Roll Call list. Just show up wherever the pre show get together is, introduce yourselves, and join in the fun.
So Pres Pub seems to be the place, huh? I look forward to pre-gaming with the like minded jacket hooligans as such that roam this filthy forum board! Peace be the journey you dirty scoundrels!
Looks like a bunch of people are asking the same thing, however, if someone has an extra pair of tickets they need to sell for the Knoxville show, a friend of mine is looking. Can meet just about anywhere in Knoxville to make an exchange (preferably downtown somewhere).
Thanks

It aint a pair, but I got a single ticket for the show tomorrow. Had a friend go down with some serious health issues, but I'm still going to make the journey.
Let me know who wants it.
If it's still available I have a friend looking for 1
Whoever is keeping score on that RSVP, add me & my wonderful wife. I have lost count how many Jacket shows I have since 2007, but I am ready for another one.
This being an "evening" with Jacket & no opening band, looking forward to one of the epic sets of yore.
First post and Knoxville native. As far as pregame spots go, Pres Pub and Scruffy are great bars but Pres Pub can get pretty packed downstairs. With rain in the forecast the roof will probably not be feasible. Clancys Tavern is directly next door to the Tennessee Theatre and is a good spot. If anybody has any Knoxville related questions feel free to ask away. I can't wait to boogie with you fine people tonight!!!
Got to say howdy to Bo enjoying his morning (1:30 PM) coffee at the hotel.

That is amazing. I wouldn't object if the band instituted an "I'm Amazed"/OBH clause going forward. Only one can get played on any given night. So far, so good.

Count me in as on the team of limiting OBH. I think that's great and hope they take it out in some shows and close with other great tunes
The steam engine was one for the ages. That jam was something special. There was a taper there and it should be up by tomorrow, from what he said. I can't wait to relive that steamy. Thanks to all you fine folks who floated in bliss with me this evening...
Oh my god what a night!
DAT STEAM ENGINE THO :cheesy:....holy shit. Great night indeed. I may be alone on this but give me Mahgeetah over OBH as a closer every time. Waterfall sounded fantastic and Tropics was excellent. Transcendent Bermuda as well. Opened with Spring which really set the mood. AND A HELL OF A XMAS CURTAIN!!! Almost forgot.
PS: That second Spring was In It's Infancy and it was killed....good night all around

Great show
They sounded amazing and that post-steam engine jam was completely out of left field.
So good
Were the steam engine jam and the jam between IWSYS and The Waterfall in Athens the same?
Definitely not sweating the lack of OBH. Probably guaranteed for the Hang Out Feat tonight doe.
Looks good. I m certainly on the no need for OBH every night team, but it is so good live
So is hangout fest about to get a monster Dondante?
I've read speculation on these boards, specifically after the KCRW stream, that the band wasn't entirely comfortable playing the new songs live yet, or at least they hadn't gotten their legs under them fully. Um, they got this I think. All the new material sounded incredible. Really, really tight.
I had high expectations to get my face melted by "In It's Infancy" and "Tropics", both of which kicked ass, but I was really surprised to see and hear "Only Memories Remain" with an extended Jim solo that I daresay ventured into "Dondante" territory.
The entire set was terrific, but that Steam Engine?
Unbelievable.
I can't believe someone could see that and then complain the the closer was different. It was my wife's first show and I think she was expecting OBH but she wasn't disappointed.
Oh all the news songs sounded amazing at kcrw. They are playing as good as ever.
How did Like a River sound last night? That one slayed me

Looking forward to hearing that Steam Engine soon. Thanks for the updates and reports, folks. Gonna be a great summer.

Great setlist. And At Dawn is on their radar!
Approximately how long did they play for?
I could be wrong but I feel like they went on around 8:20 and then finished at about 10:50 so 2.5 hours. Perfect really it was an exhausting show (in a good way). I walked away feeling like nothing more needed to be played... They played the whole waterfall too!
Sweet! Beyond pumped for Saturday
I think Jim just changed his mind about At Dawn. Patrick was playing his opening to At Dawn, it was obviously going to be at dawn, then it becomes thin line.
I really liked the lights at the point where they are doing some cool retro 80's geometric pattern and then it started changing into the colors of the space wizard jacket Jimbo is wearing on this tour. Very freaky and psychedelic.

Nice description there Fully. Very freaky, and psychedelic works for me!
Looking forward to seeing that for myself in Chicago.
I lost my mind and control when Jim dropped his hand with the bass at the beginning of "Victory Dance." Outstanding show! Loved it!
Really cool meeting so many of you this weekend. It was such a fantastic time and the band sounds perfect.
The Steam Jam was totally different from the jam after IWSYS.
Jim seemed to move around more in Tennessee but the stage was a lot bigger.
The tour should be spectacular.
They bust be really jamming the songs out so much longer to play that few songs over that length of time. I'm all for it.
Yeah, there were times when Jim just seemed to be going off the cuff....just him and the electric and some dark sounding jams. The Steam Engine Light Show/Jam was the highlight for me....that and seeing the crowd so into it. Awesome Show!!!
The show felt short...am I wrong? Like two songs short...or just one epic Run Thru short.
The bad is clearly at a point where they have a crazy big catalog full of condensed pop songs, folk tributes, space jams and just flat out rockers. I really hope they don't play a lot of songs twice (unless it's the new album.) even though they didn't play OBH, nothing was lost. Same can be said if they dropped Wordless or I'm Amazed every other day.

There were several times during the show where Jim would walk over to Tom while they were playing and say something and Tom would either nod or shake his head no. That definitely gave me the impression that they were shifting on the fly at times. Not in a bad way. Like I said before, they were on point.

I wouldn't mind at all if Wordless gets shelved for a few years. I would rather hear I'm Amazed than Wordless at this point. With that being said, WC seems to fit in nicely with the tone (on paper) of the first two sets. I've just personally had enough of it.

Here is "Bermuda Highway". I am still limited to my little Casio camera that can't handle loud sounds/songs, so I only recorded this soft song from last night's show. (I went ahead and let YouTube "fix" the problems with the picture being shaky and too dim. Hopefully the new version will look good enough.)

Here is the first of about five whole songs I got last night. More to come. Enjoy Tropics!
Great tropics video.
I apologize. While I'm not one of the prominent tall guys in the video
I was just to the center of them and At 6'5 I was shorter than them.
I heard some grumbling behind me and someone questioned my actual seat assignment.
Sucks, I get it. But I tried to lay low and tried to limit my vertical jamming. Imagine, feeling like you have to temper your groove! That tall guy with the glasses was really cool though. He was the dude.
I have some really great videos and pictures from last night. Right in front of Carl. Jim walked over and gave us the finger touch during Wordless. He was awesome both nights. Shorter set but they are playing close to 2 and Half hours and the tickets were maybe $45 each, that's a tremendous value. It was an amazing couple of nights.
I don't think we have any right to criticize the set lengths. They may not all be three plus hours, but I've seen only two shows of this band where I thought they phoned it in that night. It's rare for me to see a band that is this consistent and moves me so much every time I see them. If y'all want to get bugged out about how long the sets are, that's your business. However, the set times don't bother me at all. I was wiped out after both shows.

You had to assume that set times would be a little shorter given "the back," but the good news is that they are better than ever. So we got that goin' for us.

He said he thinks about Knoxville about six or seven times a day. Then after he got laughs, he explained that he bought a set of glasses that commemorated the world's fair and every time he gets something to drink he thinks about Knoxville. (Paraphrase)

This is true. I am still pissed at ZZ Top! I saw them twice in the 1980's (Eliminator tour and Afterburner tour). Both times they only played for 50 minutes...50 minutes! Those tours were at the height of their "commercial popularity", and they weren't all that old at the time either...50 minutes...pretty weak for the headliner.
On the other hand, MMJ killed it for 2 hours and 15 minutes in Knoxville! The 425 mile round trip in a car in one day was DEFINITELY WORTH IT! I can't wait for nights 2 & 3 in Chicago in just a few weeks!
Where did you drive from Mr. White? We had a similar round trip from Richmond.
As for the length of the set, I saw The Black Crowes at the Palace a couple years ago and it was 45 minutes. No opening act, no encore. Just a straight 45 minute set.

Jim LOVES that sunsphere. Posted an Instagram pic and I can remember at the Tennessee Theatre show in 2006 (My first live show!!!!) he was waxing poetic about it as well.
I had no idea Knoxville was so cool. Megan and I just strolled into town and pricelined a hotel downtown. Ended up being the Holiday Inn right next to the sun sphere. After the show was over took a rather lengthy walk down past the sphere and through worlds fair park and up into campus to look at all of the old buildings with Hall and Oates' "Private Eyes" on repeat
Good seeing you again Fully and Whippy!

IN addition to the world's fair glasses stuff, he talked about how much he loved Knoxville and how walking around was like you were in a psychedelic version of the future past. It could be 1920, 1950, or 3080 - or something to that effect.

By the way, for those not in attendance, here's my account of a certain stretch of the night:
Aside from one of the best Steam Engines of all time this also has the first "official" live versions of Get the Point and Like a River which proved to be a pretty amazing experience. Everyone but Jim left the stage after Xmas Curtain (mid set which is sort of rare i think) and after he went for the acoustic guitar and came back to the mic to talk about his affinity for Knoxville, the anticipation in the room was quite heavy. It seemed that those in the seats leaned in a little closer and a bunch of people from the back took the opportunity to quickly walk down the aisle towards the front to get a better view. Of course, Bermuda came first to much delight. When Get the Point followed i was surprised by the level of excitement for the song that seemed to come in staggered waves as some were able to identify the tune more quickly than others. The rest of the band crept in while Jim did his thing and patiently waited in the background for their turn to jump in. When they did, it was simply magical. They followed it up with the very first Like a River, a great rendition that featured some very nice and fitting lighting. As insane and unexpected as the Steam Engine was, i think the run from Bermuda to Like a River was equally incredible if for different reasons.
Mr White...those are BEAUTIFUL shots!!!

Thanks Mama! I had a killer seat thanks to Tracy (toretm). She let me sit next to her in the second row of the pit area on Carl's side with her extra ticket. I can't thank her enough! Plus, an extra special thanks goes out to Crispy who let me buy his extra ticket weeks ago when I lost my ticket due to computer/checkout issues during the Roll Call pre-sale. My wife and I will be together in the first row of the balcony for night 2 in Chicago, but we will sit separately again for night 3 (only 3 weeks away!!).
I forgot to thank jaye for reaching out to me first. That ticket from Crispy was originally offered to me by jaye since they went in together to get several seats grouped together (mine/my wife's was an odd one away from their group of seats), so thanks again everybody for making my trip down to Knoxville a special one! It was my wife's first show with the full band (she had seen Jim solo twice before but never had the true "Jacket Experience").
I'm slowly meeting some of you "Jacket Royalty" and some newer fans as well at these shows. In Knoxville, I met for the first time Crispy, Yvon, Mr. Whippy, Mr. & Ms. Clarkwork, and Justin Helton. I re-connected with Fully, rjlemons, and toretm (saw Scosby but didn't get a chance to talk). Hopefully, I can meet several more Forum members before nights 2 & 3 in Chicago.
Glad it worked out! Sorry I didn't have a chance to meet you - I was sitting between Crispy and Fully but there was a lot going on. What an amazing weekend.
Really great pics Mr. white! What a great show. Going through withdrawals this weekend.
