QuoteHey gitv, I felt the same way about Abita's Turbodog.  It wasgood but not something I will seek out.  Try Abita'a IPA, it's called Jockamo IPA.  Pretty good.

Yesterday, i picked up a 4 pack of Mojo Risin,  Dylan probably knows this stuff.  It's BBC's double IPA,  11%.  A 4 pack of Dogfish Head 90 IPA, 9%.  A sixer of Hazed and Infused, (not too strong, but a great brew) and a sixer of Stone IPA ,7.9%, i  think.

I haven't tried the Stone yet, but heard it's "as good as it gets".  Anyone know?

Oh, also last week i picked up some of Anhor Steam's "Christmas Brew".  Very, very good.

Damn, Jon.  I've probably gotten that exact same order from the LQ before.  You got some good taste, my man.  Stone IPA is pretty good.

I'd like to hear people's thoughts on Arcadia's IPA. It's my least favorite IPA I've had, but my buddy Paul says it's one of his favorites.  :-/

My roomie picked up an Arcadia grab bag 12er the other day and I had one.  Ehhh, I agreed with him, not so good.

Now a DFH 90minute.  I pour that shit on my cereal :D

Yeah, there's something about Aracaida.  It's got a twang to it I'm not a fan of, but the DFH 90 is spot on.

btw, I had Great Lakes' Nosferatu.  It was damn good, I'll definitely pick it up again sometime.

Gotta say - wasn't much of a fan of any Arcadia, until I went to their brewery in Battle Creek.  Granted - everything is tastier on tap at the source.

Yeah, I can agree, there are better IPA's - Stone is close to the top of my list for an all around IPA (not insanely, butt-puckeringly hoppy) - but Arcadia's Scotch Ale is one of my favorites - if not the best, damn close to the best Scotch Ale I've ever had -

The DFH 90 is great - but really wasn't impressed with the 60 or 120.

(wow, been a long time since I posted on here last)

Went to the city and met some new friends. Avery IPA, Boulder, CO. Heavy Seas, Loose Cannon, hop3, 7.25%, Baltimore, MD. Moylan's IIPA, 8.5%, Novato, CA. Hoppin' Frog IIPA, 8.2%, Akron, OH. BBC's Professor Gesser's IPA. Getting to know them should keep me busy for awhile...

Nice.  Let me know what you think of Porf. Gesser's.  They have it on tap right now and I'm hooked.  Hell, let me know about all those, I think I've only had that and the Avery.

The Loose Cannon is solid but as one who lives in B'more, I gotta say most of the beers from Clipper City Brewing doesn't hang with the big boys.  I actually enjoy their Small Craft Warning Pils as a nice, easy drinking beer.

Am I allowed to discuss wine and champagne here or is that not cool?

QuoteThe Buffalo Trace website said it doesn't distribute in MD.  It could be inaccurate but I haven't seen it anywhere and I do shop (unfortunately) at the largest liquor store (warehouse) near me.  Its just too cheap for me to avoid.

Thanks for the heads up though man.  Maybe I'll shoot up to PA and steal some from ya [smiley=evil.gif]

according to this link:

http://www.buffalotrace.com/main.asp?page=retailers

They sell it at at least 1 store in all of these 10 fine Maryland towns/cities

Huhhhhhhh?????  I guess it gives me a no when I punch in my zip.  Too frickin far although I'll be in DC for the Caps Bruins game tomorrow night.  Hmmm

Thanks for the "Head"z up

Finally found some Buffalo Trace.  It will be making the trip up to the NYC for some pregaming festivities tomorrow along with some Abita Pale, WT 101 and a variety of Cavas and Sparkling Wines!!!!

Lakefront, Hazed, Loose Cannon trio treat while watching Breaking Away and lamenting/celebrating my last day of break-freedom. Loose Cannon is the only newbie; it has an interesting grainy undertone that I am not accustomed to that is not necessarily distracting, but is an unusual welcome counter-balance to hoppiness.

Who makes that one?  I can't remember if I've had it or not.  Is it the Red Hook people?

Yeah, I've had that in their sampler 12-packs.  I was pretty pleased with all of them as I recall.

I've had a few of their other brews and they were good. Not so easy to find in my area for some reason.

There's a good Japanese site I buy international beer from that has that IPA in stock, might have to pick up a couple.

Drank all my favs in the UK + tried some new Badger Beers that were SO good. Poachers choice, Golden Glory & Golden Champion are truly 3 of the best beers/ales I have ever tasted!

There are a couple of Japanese sites I use but they'd be no good for you.

I looked for Badger Ale online for you but only found a couple of Australian sites (they don't ship outside of Oz)
