QuoteI still am not sure how I feel about Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. He's too tall. Wolverine was always a short little fucker in the comics if I remember. Actually, Colossus is my fav and was hoping for more of him in the movies. I would love to see the Fall of the Mutant's storyline done up in film.
I always thought Glen Danzig would have been the perfect Wolverine - short, hairy & built like a brick shit-house with the attitude to match  ;)

I thought Hugh Jackman was good in the first 2 movies but Last Stand was just so crap I'm not sure if I care anymore.
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

yeah know, he would be great. Plus Black Aria as the soundtrack? That is total BATTLE music.

YES! I had that CD...no idea where it is now  :(

Death Proof - the first act was excellent, didn't enjoy the 2nd act quite so much but overall the movie was lots of fun & very cool.
Planet Terror next...

Once- I did enjoy most of the movie. I wanted the sappy, romantic ending but got.....
Knocked Up- Seen this several times and it still is hysterical.

Getting ready to watch 24 Hour Party People.

Cheers Sean! I'm tempted to just buy the Japanese 6 disc Grindhouse DVD that's out in a couple of weeks seeing as there's no sign of a US version on the horizon. It's not cheap (about $80!) I should probably just wait...

Into The Wild - An interesting film. I think Emile Hirsch's performance was really uneven. He was compelling when he was in the wild, but when he interacted with other characters, it seemed forced. Still, a good film about a dreamer.

Juno - I still can't believe this mostly Canadian film didn't qualify as being Canadian and was thus snubbed for this year's Genie Awards (Canadian Oscars) - Sarah Polley's Away From Her won a boat-load of awards last night. It took me around 30 minutes to get into it, but when I did, I really liked it. In some ways it's on-par with Ghost World. I liked the soundtrack too. It was appropriately quirky.

I think I kind of agree with your Into the Wild take.  But he really redeems himself during the dying scene - that was powerfull.  They didn't ruin my favorite book and mostly they did it proud.  Hal Holbrook was the best.
I'm not saying it's easy...walking into sweet oblivion.

Elephant by Gus Van Sant on the IFC last night.  Very fucking compelling take on a Columbine-like incident at a high school.  The cinematography (it's all of this tricky over the shoulder, from the perspective of multiple characters type-stuff) just sucks you in.

I had a great time watching Planet Terror but Death Proof was so tedious for me.

Just watched 24 Hour Party People. I enjoyed it. I like the fact that the main character acts as the narrator ala Ferris Bueller. Great music to it also. Makes me think I missed out on something special  :-/

Margot at the Wedding - from director Noah Baumbach of The Squid and the Whale. Stars Jennifer Jason Leigh, Nicole Kidman and Jack Black. I wish I rented The Darjeeling Limited instead, since Margot at the Wedding is self-aware, pretentious, tedious and a thoroughly unfunny film.

IHL

The Errol Morris documentary 'The Thin Blue Line'

Excellent

The DARK

Be Kind Rewind. You all may disagree, but I think its a charming, unexpectedly funny little movie.
In another time, in another place, in another face

Yep Yep. It's named after it and a big chunk of the movie involves them. They had some, errrrrr, issues.

Brazil- a fantastic film. Assuming a lot of you have seen this so no need to explain. I'm glad I've read 1984 so I knew where they were going with this. I've seen The Holy Grail and Fear and Loathing and was wondering where I should go next with Gilliam/Monty Python.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Which version was it? The Studio's or Terry's?

You can't go wrong with Life of Brian or Time Bandits. I am told that Fisher King is quite good. I watched in once over 10 years ago. I probably need to watch it again.

I think its Terry's. This is what I have:
