I have to confess I thought the 1st movie was OK...

I thought the 1st movie was pretty damn good actually. Better story than I expected, the special effects and battle sequences were top notch, and Megan Fox didnt hurt either.

Ghost Town! I knew I was forgetting something. Good but I love Ricky Gervais & was hoping for something more...

It was great at what it was supposed to be: a turn your brain off, enjoy the explosions, summer popcorn movie. Its really en vogue to rip on Michael Bay but the guy is good at what he does. I like to think I enjoy "smart" movies but there's nothing wrong with a good action movie. I dont know how anyone who grew up watching the Transformers didnt like that movie.

And lets be honest, Megan Fox sure isnt hard to look at...

patti smith: dream of live - i'm so in love with patti smith right now, it's disgusting.  the film was quite flawed, but oh so enjoyable.  what an incredible human being patti is.  her insanely passionate reciting of a ginsberg poem was jaw-dropping, as was some of the live footage.  wish there was more.  nice to see john cale, tom verlaine, michael stipe and thom yorke!  the scene with flea was hilarious and i love her adoration of dylan.  i've always thought she's gorgeous, and some of the quite old footage re-affirmed my thoughts.

Bought Forgetting Sarah Marshall tonight; saw it when it was in theaters but I forgot just how funny it was. Some damn hilarious stuff in that one. Jason Segal is awesome in everything he does, and he's really versatile too. How I Met Your Mother is one of the funniest shows on TV, he was good as a bit part in Knocked Up, and he killed it in Sarah Marshall, which he also wrote. I really thing he's going to be big.

Id say having a top 5 comedy on TV, and 1 of the biggest comedy movies of the year already means youre big time

If he isnt big time, just the fact hes making movies with Apatow with make him big time.

FSM is pretty damn funny too BTW...took me another viewing, probably bc I was so drunk I didnt remember much the 1st time, but 1 of the best few comedies of the year

He's definitely successful, but I think if you asked most people if they knew who Jason Segal is they wouldnt know. When I say I think he's going to get "big", I mean Seth Rogan/Michael Cera/Jonah Hill big, instant name recognition big.

True..I think hes at the point though where if you bring up HIMYM or a movie he was in, people know who you mean but might not know his name.

I think a lot of people still dont know Jonah Hill's name actually (probably same people who dont know Segal's)...hes just the fat kid from Superbad  ;D

WALL.E got best animated feature, Heath Ledger got best supporting actor for Dark Knight & Sally Hawkins got best actress (in a comedy) for Mike Leigh's excellent Happy-Go-Lucky  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Dont really watch 30 Rock, seems like a good show, but I cant see Baldwin doing better than Duchovny was on the 2nd season of Californication.

Duchovny was fantastic, plus his role takes a lot more than just slapstick comedy.

Thought he shouldve took that 1, though I didnt expect it


...and damn, Slumdog $$$$$$ seems like the movie of the year based on what Ive seen since turning this on, and audience reaction.
