QuoteJust saw Where the Wild Things Are. Don't go in expecting anything like the tone of the book; Spike is concentrating a much more comprehensive take on adulthood through the eyes of a child. It's probably not nearly as "epic" as you'd expect out of such a hyped film, though that's not always a bad thing. Nor is there nearly enough wild rumpus, though a lot of it wouldn't fit with the menancholy tone throughout.

Those are about the only bad things I can say about it, though. Max is incredibly well-written and well-performed (and a lot like me at that age). The family scenes are also great and emotionally dead-on.

let us not forget the look of the wild things... beautifully created.  It reminds me almost of the labyrinth, the way they throw themselves around all over the place- jumping on each other and sleeping in big "real piles"

the movie has absolutely grown on me and i think i may bump my score up to a 9 outa 10

My friend and I have been trying to find people to sleep in a pile with since we saw the movie. Doesn't it seem like fun?!  :)
Because we're all in this together...

2nd trailer for Avatar. Far better than the teaser but 10years in the making + a record breaking however-many-million budget?  :-/

QuoteJamie Foxx is just wrong. Same as you can't have a white guy play James Brown, Isaac Hayes or Marvin Gaye etc you can't have an African American play Sinatra.

Was there seriously an article saying that on IMDB, or did they fuck up and then change it from the Sinatra biopic to the Tyson movie?!

I dont think there's a snowball's chance in hell theyre actually considering Foxx for Sinatra (and if I was him I wouldnt even take the part), but I didnt see that article on the link you had. For real, you cant race swap for shit like this. It would make it unwatchable because you would just keep thinking about that.
I can't find the story now but this was what IMDB printed yesterday:

Foxx To Play Sinatra?

18 May 2009 1:00 AM, PDT

Jamie Foxx has been tipped to play late Rat Pack crooner Frank Sinatra, according to reports.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Harry Connick Jr. were among the names rumoured to be in contention for the role after it was announced earlier this month that filmmaker Martin Scorsese will direct a biopic.

But now African-American actor Foxx, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Ray Charles in 2004's Ray, has emerged as the favourite to play Ol' Blue Eyes.

And studio bosses are convinced Foxx has the charisma and talent to tackle the role of Sinatra, who died in 1998.

An insider tells Britain's Daily Star, "Jamie would seem to be born to the role. Magnificent voice, convincing acting ability - like Frank himself - born the wrong side of the tracks, makes it big against all odds, has his brush with authority. The guy's a gift."

EDIT: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004937/news#ni0789844
I just read that Clooney, Depp & DiCaprio are all fighting for the role.

I watched Sarah Marshall again on TV last night. Seriously, how cute is Mila Kunis?!!

Halloween, Shaun Of The Dead, Pet Semetery - seen them all before (SOTD countless times) but watched them all again on TV for halloween.

Adventureland - very good! Both funny & touching, I can't believe the same guy directed Superbad.

GI Joe

Not great, but better than that trainwreck that was Transformers 2..I thought they did a better job with the villians than the Joe's, and could improve even more if there's a sequel.

5.5/10

Taking of Pelham 123

Basically was what I heard going into it - not bad, but not anything special either. Ending was pretty meh for me. Denzel has numerous better drama/action movies.
