Is this guy a superstar or what?

40+ points for a third time...and it's only December.

He needs to get player of the year.
Yes, even ahead of Tyler H.

GGG, you speak the truth...straight balla.  Not that Davidson is bad but think about putting him on a "good" team with other guys that can score.  Without the defense keying on him he could score triple digits, 44 with a bunch of role players and the defense focused on him is truly impressive.

Boston College stuns No. 1 North Carolina 85-78
ggg?   :o

Pitt will be #1 now and they looked pretty good yesterday against Gtown.

primushead

I know, I know.

I knew this team wouldn't go undefeated...but to lose like this at home to BC is unacceptable.

I am truly disappointed.

But, I suppose it's good to get a loss out of the way sooner rather than later.  If we played defense the way we did tonight again, I'm 100% sure we can expect a few more of these...

I think this is the 1st time Pitt has actually had a legit team that can make it to the final 4, and maybe further this year. For about the last decade, theyve had solid players, but no one who could create offense by themself. They also relied on D - which they still do pretty much - but definitely have the most offensive firepower and depth theyve had since theyve been an annual Big East premier team.

Dejaun Blair is easily the best big man theyve had since Howland was there, and is probably a Top 5 big man in the NCAA. Sam Young is the only true scorer theyve had in the last decade, the most athletic guy theyve had outside of maybe Julius Page, and IMO the best player theyve had period. Levance Fields is not as good of a scorer as Krauser was, but I think hes probably the most complete PG out of himself, Krauser, and Brandin Knight

Unlike their #3 or #4 seed tourney teams of what seems like has been about the last 7 years, I think this is the 1st team theyve had that is built to go far in the tourney, and would be especially hard to upset the first few rounds.

Now if only you could have Charles Smith ;)

My alma mater is 13-0!

They beat KY Wesleyan, who is the best of our conference/division (I-AA).

Go Knights!

HUGE game for #3 Carolina vs. #4 Wake tomorrow...I'm scared. :(

This is not the start to the season that I had hoped for... >:(

too much hype messing with their heads?

primushead

I can only assume something is going on.  Media hype can be a bitch.  If you watched the game last night, you also noticed some arguing going on between Deon Thompson and Danny Green.  The players NEVER mouthed off last year...

I dunno.  I don't really know what's going on.  Roy needs to fix this ASAP.

Maybe the poon at UNC isnt quite as good in 2009

I like watching Terrence Williams of Louisville

I was getting ready to post about the cards, tracy. I'm really like their team.  The combination of Samardo Samuels and Earl Clark on the front line, opens it up for T-Wil and all our outside shooters.  3-0 in the Big East including two straight victories over ranked opponents.  Watch out, by tournament time, nobody's gonna want to face these guys.

BTW, the Big East appears to be a Beast this year.

YAY, college basketball, where champions aren't decided by corporate interests!

P.S. Bellarmine is 14-0 with three straight victories against ranked opponents!  :D

The best thing an opponent of UL can see is for T-will to hit his first three...he's a great athlete but not a great shooter (shhh, its a secret, don't tell him.)

If UL is hitting threes they're tough, if not it's a long night for them.

People are catching up to UNC...very good team but as good at the beginning as they are at the end.  Plus as I said earlier, they don't play great D, they are similar to Duke in that they play the passing lanes on the first pass but not great team defense.

UL looked good last night against ND.  I agree with you about T-Will's jumpshot, but he does get on a streak now and then.  What about E5's dunk over Harangody?  BTW, I won't tell T-Will Either.

I would have said the same thing in years' past, and have in fact, but this year is different.  With Samardo Samuels and Earl Clark on the baseline and T-Will slashing through the lane, we don't need to rely on the 3-ball anymore.  That's why I think this team is so dangerous.  At one point last night we were something like 3 for 21 from three point range and still had a lead against a ranked opponent who was shooting lights out from three.  Things are different this year in da ville, that's what I was trying to point out in my first post.

Earl's dunk was beautiful, btw.

Oh, I agree that UL has the ability to play that way and should, but it's not Pitino's style and he doesn't seem to adapt.  If you're 3 of 21 you should probably stop shooting three's eh?

Live by the three, die by the three is Pitino ball.

Well, my point is that we shot poorly from three and still won, so the "die by the three" part of your theory is flawed.

And I don't agree that you should stop shooting three just you're cold the first part of the game.  If you have a good three point shooter open from three, you shoot it regardless.  Or maybe I've been watching UofL basketball too long.

Pitino ball is also about tough defense pressure and outlasting your opponent.  We didn't hit the three last night, but we did have a lot of defensive pressure and we did outlast our opponent.
