Yeah that Blount apparently was talkin' a lot during the week.  What a nutbag though.  What I don't understand is what the rest of the Oregon coaches and players were doing in not restraining him and getting him off the field.  Only that dude in the green polo (physical trainer?) was holding him back while trying to get him to the tunnel.

Well, it sure made for good TV

Should be a tough game for the Dawgs in OK St...I think they are giving 5 to the Dawgs last I checked. Scary betting for or against those guys. What college do you pull for Capt ?

My alma mater, Penn State.

Yeah, Ohio State looks like theyre going to be realll tough

Some craziness to end the Iowa game. Iowa blocked a FG with under 10 seconds left, but since it didnt cross the LoS, No Iowa recovered it and got a 2nd chance with 1 second left. Iowa blocked it again  ;D

Wasnt too impressed with PSU today, but Akron I think is decent for what they are. Darryl Clark was about the only guy who showed me something, it looks like he improved to me.

College football is boring the first part of the season and frustrating the second half.

Yeah, totally boring.  :D

I cant believe im watching my 5th game today, and its LSU barely beating Washington.

After what happened to Bradford and the Sooners, talk about no legit NFL QB coming back for his senior yr for the next decade.

That final drive by BYU to get the lead was awesome. I dont think I'll see a more exciting 15 minutes in college football this year. Just when I thought it wasnt going to happen, Hall finds that guy in the back of the endzone. I think Hall was like 9/10 for 85 yards on that drive.

I think the Bama-VT final score was closer than the actual game. Bama looked like the better team most of the game, and especially in the 2nd half.

Ingram has game, but Upchurch impressed me the most. Im sure it wasnt coincidence he didnt get a carry until Ingram got dinged after he had that 40 yard run but fumbled. I think Upchurch can play on sundays.

That WR Hanks looked solid too, and I never realized how big Bama's  D is. Im not talking about Mt Cody or your DLine when I say that either

I agree. I watched as much football as humanly possible yesterday. If you would have said this thread is boring, then I would have agreed with you.

All I care is that my Huskers won, and the dirt bugglers...I mean Sooners lost. Unfortunatley Mizzuo won

It was a good day to be an Oklahoma State alum. The team got a great early season win, and then Bradford went down along with the rest of his teammates.

The restaurant I was in after the OSU game went nuts when BYU took the lead at the end of their game.

Alabama's DEF is gonna rip shit up this year. I think we have a really solid D.
I was alarmed when McClain lost his cool last night. That's not like him AT ALL. I kept thinking that they'd show what happened, but I never saw it. I was curious about if he was provoked or not. Either way, that wasn't expected out of him.

I was impressed with Hanks as well. He made a helluva catch in the first quarter that would have been out of most people's hands. He also made a couple more nice grabs in clutch situations.

Once McElroy settled down, I liked what I saw out him.

Cowpokes look tough. I wasnt impressed with the Sooners in the first half when Bradford was playing.

Easier to say now with OU already behind the eightball, but I think getting to the NC game is Ok St or Texas' to lose, and I think Ok St has a very good chance of coming out on top based on what I saw yesterday. Well have to see what UGA looks like the next few weeks to get a good bearing on how good they are though.

They showed it, but it was probably a good 5 minutes after it happened. I have no idea why they didnt show it immediately instead of showing Tyrod go down like 8 times.

Basically, the play was over for about 3 seconds, and McClain walked nearly 5 yards to get to the VT player and bodied him hard and knocked him down. After that, words were exchanged and he think he got the other penalty because he kind of pushed the ref off of him

I missed have been in the pisser.
Still sounds very unlike McClain. Either there was more to it or he was just having a bad night. He still played well though.  :)

This was posted by someone on a Bama forum. Granted, it's a Homer POV, but it might give a little explanation about McClain:

The only replay that showed the whole thing was a wide angle shot from up high. As you recall, the play that VT ran was an option to their right, we hit the QB as soon as he turned and his pitch went awry, recovered 10 yards back. In the meantime, I'm not sure if #60 was pulling or not, but he and McClain wound up all the way back in the endzone. As McClain turns to run back upfield (the play is now dead), #60 gives him a shot and apparently says something. McClain's reaction is delayed, like it took a second for him to realize what had been done/said, and that's when he gives the guy a shoulder blow-- I believe he knocked him down, didn't he? The official is only a few feet away, but somehow didn't see the first shot. Neither did the announcers-- at least they didn't say anything. I do think Saban saw it though, thus the understated reaction. And I don't recall them ever showing that particular replay again. But by McClain's reaction, you could tell he was some kind of ticked off. As noted elsewhere on this forum, though, I think part of that was that he was still ticked off at Marquis Johnson for the blown coverage on the play before.

Just got back from Atlanta. Had an awesome time at the Georgia Dome, Chic-fil-A did it up right, again.

Few random thoughts, I'm kind of tired so excuse me.

BAMA looked good, but I couldn't decide if BAMA was not as good as I thought they'd be, or if VTech was so much better than I thought they'd be. Or maybe both?

McElroy looked decent, but there were a handful of times when he threw it where he shouldn't have and the results could have been disastrous. I'm sure he'll get better as time moves along.

Mark Ingram looked excellent. He hasn't got the speed that Coffee had, but he's just as strong and I think is just as good at weaving through traffic if necesarry. Ol' dude even nearly pulled off a spin move that tickled me to death - not his style, at all - he usually just trucks over people.

For the first time in years, Roy Upchurch looked healthy. He shouldn't have been benched for getting the ball stripped if Rolondo McClain wasn't for unsportsmanlike conduct. I am hoping and praying that Roy won't have anymore problems with his spine - having him and Ingram and Grant and Richardson in the tailback rotation is going to be sick.

Speakings of McClain... Not many of us in the dome actually saw what happened and I have yet to see the film on tape. Putting your hands on the ref is a huge no-no, though. And he needs to stop horse-collaring folks if he can help it.

Was anyone else totally confused with BAMA's new "wild cat" style formation? Giving Mark Ingram a direct snap? Ingram hasn't got much of an arm, from what I hear - so I'm wondering what Saban has up his sleeve. Maybe we'll see this formation bear its fruit during a more important game?

From what I've read, they weren't really going for trickery or anything. They were just trying to wear down the defense. And I think it worked. I was questioning it during the game, but it makes sense in hindsight.

It didnt seem like it was really beneficial though. If you cant use it and sustain a drive, youre not going to help yourself wear down the D.

We'll see how it pans out I guess

Finally watched the game on TV - has a much different feel to it than it did from the nosebleeds. I'm still sort of baffled by the wildcat formation, but if you look at the very first play of the game, Ingram could have gotten 20+ yards had someone not missed a block. Looks like several missed blocks and blown coverages came about the other night... hopefully those kinks can get ironed out in time for SEC play.

Trent Richardson looked very good and Terry Grant actually had some pep in his step, too... I bet Saban lets those guys run wild next week, second half.
