Miami vs FSU ....fun game to start the season..

Alabama looks freaking AWESOME this year.  I hate to say that but it's just true.  Ingram looks like the second coming of Jamal Lewis.

My Vols look like they'll be a lot more competitive this year.   A bunch of freshman made plays, that should be good for recruiting.  Bryce Brown over 100, Teague led the team in receptions.  If nothing else this season will be much more exciting and enjoyable.  Go Vols!!!
There's Still Time.........

in order for me to enjoy this season, i have drastically lowered my expectations after Sat. our O Line AND defense are suspect (i don't think i've said that ever about our defense) the good thing is that T Pryor looked good, he seemed much more confident and patient. Heron did an ok job but wow, it was great knowing beanie could just bulldoze right up the middle whether there were 2 or 12 guys there.

capt-- PSU looked great from what i saw, if we played tomorrow, we'd get stomped. luckily we've got 2 months to get ready :-)
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

I will say that Navy is always a really good team, so don't take last weekends scare to mean OSU is worse than it was last year. If anything, nearly getting humiliated will drive them to play harder.

I loved how that lady interviewed him after the game, asking about his injury - how he just shrugged it off and said, "I could go back in right now if they needed me to."

Great guy.

Although I'd prefer he see fewer snaps until SEC play, from here on out.

(But seriously, wait 'til you guys see more of Trent Richardson...)

Oh, and don't forget Roy Upchurch hitting the hell out of that guy on the TD run when he could have just gone to the corner.

Yeah, we looked good, but it was Akron. Theyll probably be 1 of the best teams in the MAC from what I saw, but still.

Navy is decent and I didnt really see any of that game because PSU was playing at the same time. Id be more worried about USC in 5 days than us in 2 months. Then again, I wouldnt be worried because you probably dont have much of a chance against the trojans.

Even though they suck, I'll thoroughly enjoying putting Paulus on his ass this week. I never thought my hate for Duke could be transferred to the football field and PSU having a chance to lay a Dookie out  ;D

QB factory?  That's a bit of a stretch ;)  Congrats on the start to the season.

And as much as it pains me to say it, congrats Crispy.  Your Cowboys looked good on Saturday, although at first I thought it was the same ol OSU defense that trotted out there.

MJ congrats to you and your Huskers as well.

I'm hoping we can win a couple of games without Sam.  I know this may sound a little strange but I would rather lose early on that get my hopes up just to get kicked in the nuts the last game of the year.  We'll see what happens, I think they're supposed to announce that Jermaine Gresham is going to be out for the year pretty soon.  Hurts to lose two first round draft picks this early in the season.  Might not matter after the way our Oline played Saturday, pathetic :(

Thanks, EZ - I thought exactly the same thing after the first drive when Georgia ran through the D like a hot knife through butter. I was shocked by the end of the game and the defense having given up only 10 points. I still think OSU is overrated right now (5th???), but if the defense can keep that up, then we're going to win a few more games this year.

It's a long season, and if you've got to lose a game, now is the time to do it. OU's got plenty of depth and plenty of time to get their shit together.

wait, didn't paulus miss the first snap of the game or something? ha ha...i liked that, too.

i'm not worried about Sat. there's little chance we'll win, so i'm just gonna plan on having a few drinks and hopefully being too numb to feel the pain by the 4th QTR, like i did last year. (RIGHT AFTER BEANIE WENT OUT, though) no excuses this year.

BAMA's QB came from the same highschool as Daniels. Won a state championship there, as well, I think. Texas high school system is the quarterback factory, IMHO.

I figured somebody would call me out on that.   Yes, a bit of stretch.  But my point is, we lost a Senior Heisman canidate and at least one game in, haven't lost a beat.

I really am sorry to hear about Bradford.  No matter how bad I don't like a team, big injuries bum me out.   However, after what happened the last couple years, if we are lucky enough to make it to the Big 12 Championship game, I won't shed any tears if OU is sitting at home.

It's not any easier for UGA this week. Steve Spurrier gives the Dawgs fits. The Dawgs could start 0 - 2....shit :-/

I'm sure some of you guys will love this. I participated in a pick 'em pool last weekend and totally bombed. Of 16 games, I went 5 and 11. Lost on Ohio State, Penn State, Georgia, LA Tech, Oklahoma, UCLA, UTEP, LSU, Memphis, and Colorado. Won on Kentucky, USC, Alabama, California, and Miami.

Hoping I do better this next weekend.

So you started to bet like a big boy and used lines actually?

Bet against the spread, yeah. It's just a pool of random games, prizes but no money involved. Maybe you pro's can give me some pointers about this weekend?

I picked North Carolina, Wake Forest, Penn State, Florida, VA Tech, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Jacksonville State, Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, Southern Miss, Texas Tech, LSU, USC, and Utah.

Think I'll be okay?

I dont gamble usually, and I havent looked at the lines this week, so Im not sure right now.

I had to do it, just cause we played against both of the qb's I'm sure you were refering to, and we have 2 Heisman Trophy quarterbacks in the past five years ;).  Didn't catch your game just saw your highlights but I figured the north will be between you and MJ's boys, who I'm not really looking forward to playing in Lincoln :-/  But yeah injuries happen, it's going to hurt more not having Gresham all year, then it will be not having Sam for 3-4 games.

It's going to be a long year in Norman.  We already have the idiot callers on talk radio calling for our offensive coordinator, Kevin Wilson's, head.  I think they forget he engineered the offense that scored the most points in a season in FBS history.....just last year.  If our offensive line doesn't perform a miracle I see three maybe four losses on the year.

Crispy, looks like yall finally have a defensive coordinator who knows what he's doing.  The Bedlam game is one of the ones that really scares me this year even if it is in Norman.  I'm not your normal insane OU fan who thinks OSU is pure slop.  I never want to lose to yall, I don't always root for you when you are playing someone else, but I'm no idiot.  Your team this year is stacked!  If that D holds up, I think you'll be undefeated heading into Texas at home.  I wouldn't tell my family members that went to OSU this but I think this is the year they finally step and beat one if not both, OU and Texas.  I WILL be rooting for you when you play the shorthorns though!

Pennylane I like your plan for Saturday, I think I over did it when OU played USC because I can't really remember the second half of that game :-/
