I'm so happy that the Cavs lost. I'm hoping that LeBron never wins a championship. But he will. Nice job Cleveland, booing him (and the team) at home. Great way for him to remember you by, as he's catching the first flight outta Cleveland. My buddy from Cleveland still believes 100% that he's staying, yeah right. KG kinda threw Minnesota under the bus when asked about the Lebron situation. He said something like he would've left Minnesota earlier, because loyalty makes stupid decisions. I don't blame him for saying it.

Yeah, Ive come to not like how Lebron handles and carries himself, how he talks in interviews, etc. I still think Kobe is the best player in the NBA. Going into the playoffs I wouldve said he stays, but with this epic collapse, both by him in a few games but mostly little help from his surrounding cast, he's gone.

If he's smart, he'd go to CHI or MIA....Bulls have a ton of young talent with Rose, Noah, Deng, Gibson, Hinrich - all of whom play different positions than Lebron. Id say Heat next, mostly because of Wade, but Beasley, Jermaine O'Neal, Richardson, and Chalmers are a decent supporting cast. I dont think McGrady is anywhere near what he used to be, but I guess the Knicks have some decent players too in Lee, Harrington, Gallinari.

Im not sold on PHX having a chance vs LAL, but Wilbon thinks theyre going to win, so maybe they will. If Rondo and KG can play anything like they did vs CLE, the Celts-Magic series should be a good one

We're pumping it up in Minnesota for the lottery tonight! This is our only chance to finish first in something.  Lets go, lets pump it up!

Interesting observation for a local sports writer here in Beantown--"Here the Celtics won--everywhere else they're saying 'Lebron Lost'".  Guess I shouldn't be too surprised.  Boston seems to be supplanting New York as most hated sports town oh well

I love these two match ups.  I wasn't surprised to see Boston take game one with Orlando a little rusty after the rest.  I gotta say, Rasheed and Big Baby made Superman look like Jon Koncak or Paul Mokeski. ;D  I like Orlando to get this one.

I was surprised at how handily the Lakes handled the Suns and I particularly enjoyed the overblown ESPN coverage of the injuries to Bynum and Kobe.  Get over it.  It's the conference finals.  Get it on.  Go Lakers.

Magic-Celts went kind of how I expected. I didnt think Magic would go down 15+ points again, and they didnt, but I wasnt sure if they had enough to beat Boston after seeing how Game 1 went. Made a great run early in the game to come back from a 23-12 deficit to tie it up at 25. Difference in the game though was Rashard Lewis was non-existent. I dont know how a guy that good looks like he doesnt even want the ball the entire game. Nelson didnt have a good game either. Boston just has too much firepower. Put a solid, deep, defensive bench with their Big 4, and they are going to be tough to beat, even for LA.

2 Big Things I realized last night:

1)I cant believe how good Rajon Rondo is. I thought he was average at Kentucky, maybe above average, which would mean he would be at best a career backup PG in the NBA. Somehow though, he's become possibly the best PG in the game, Id say definitely the best all-around PG. Made some sick highlight reel plays last night.

2) I cant believe JJ Redick has turned into a solid NBA bench player. I hated him at Duke, but probably morese because he was just too damn good. He's really rounded his game and Im surprised that whiteboy is a Top 8 player for a team as good as Orlando. He played with more heart than anyone else on Orlando last night

Just curious, does anyone else here read Bill Simmons, The Sports Guy?  He's a HUGE NBA/Celts fan.  Go to ESPN.com and look for his mug a bit underneath the main picture.  He writes a few articles a week usually, and they're really, really funny if you're a sports fan.  If not...well, you won't get the humor.  But you probably wouldn't be going to espn.com anyway if you're not a sports fan.  He used to be a writer for Jimmy Kimmel and he's friends with others like Chuck Klosterman.  Lots of good stuff.  Gets me through the workday.  His podcasts are usually good too.

I used to read a lot od Simmons years back and from what I gather and random links friends still send me, he typically is on point in his witty analysis.  That said, as a die hard fan of all sports, I boycott allthings ESPN except for live sports coverage and this fantastic 30/30 series nowadays.

When simmons sticks with pure game and team analysis I love him.  When he starts getting all tabloidish.......

Im with you on this, although I do still watch PTI and ATH, and occasionally JRIB. Sportscenter is unwatchable though. They just talk about the biggest story for half the show over and over again, and it usually doesnt have to do with an actual game. If I want my sports info, I watch NFL or NHL network.

The 30 for 30 is great, although Ive missed a bunch. The one on The U and Ricky Williams were fantastic I thought

i love both the sports guy and the sports gal...i like that he's also gotten Chuck Klosterman involved   :) (well except when he said God hated Cleveland---which he does--and it was a good article---but still)

Kind of a crappy 1st game.  I'm a huge Lakers fan and I was very worried coming into this series about everything.  I'm not sure if the Celtics just played really poorly or the Lakers played somewhat OK but the level of play seemed terrible.  The referees were all over the place and very inconsistent.  While I'm happy with the result, man those refs need to get their act together.

Yeah, level of play and energy seemed pretty subpar.

Game 2 isnt until Sunday?! What a joke

Anyone watching?

Lots of good games so far...Lots of intriguing series still even though they are mostly 2-0..Melo droppin 42 and 17 and the Knicks lose?!

I also gotta say, I never thought Russell Westbrook would be anywhere near as good as he is..I was surprised he was a top 10 pick, seemed like a reach or risk that high, and I pegged him for like an avg starting PG or very good 6th man. Not like I watched UCLA all that much when he was there outside of the tourney, but its not often where I see a very good player from a major conference and am surprised how their game translates or even progresses in the NBA.

Man, the NBA playoffs are better than ever!  How 'bout them Blazers with Roy?!  I'm sure the Wizzard was going bonkers. :o  That performance reminded me of Isaiah Thomas and Reggie Miller's 25+ point playoff quarters from back in the day.

I agree with you about Westbrook Headdy.  I actually did watch him play a lot in college being a UCLA follower and I gotta say I'm surprised with more than anything with his jump shot.  I knew he would be a great slasher and defender with this length and quickness but to become the offensive player he has become has been surprising.

We haven't gotten to see the Brandon Roy show all season long! It is such a thing of beauty!  To say we were freaking out would be an understatement!
