Was last night's a snoozer or did i miss something?   :-/

I think you missed a few things. The answer pieces started to fall into place last night. Granted it wasn't an action packed episode but the little things in it were great. Ben throughout the whole episode was awesome..."Oh I taped over the game" and Sawyer and Hurley's reaction at the end were great. I don't know whether to feel sorry for the guy or hate his guts.

I'm sure I'm holding it to too high of a standard after last week and I didn't hate but it just didn't do anything for me really.  I didn't pick up on any answer pieces either.  I'm sure some of it will fit together eventually but Penny's dad owning the freighter wasn't much of surprise and Juliette's backstory isn't too riveting.  Although I do think Locke is starting to see that him and Ben are on the same team.  At least that's what Ben wants him to think anyway.

Ben is a master manipulator. I just want to know who he really truly is. At least we saw one of the other "Others" so we know they are are still around lurking, waiting to hopefully spring into action. I did like Juliette's little line back to Jack about being an "Other".

BH

Could Ben be going back in time to manipulate the future when he needs it?
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

That is an interesting idea. That might explain how on an island that cures your ills, he develops a spinal tumor.

i don't think this is going on.  last week Desmond's consciousness was "unstuck" in time and he wasn't physically travelling through time.  i don't think the writes will have Ben physically time travelling (but i could be wrong!).

this was by far the slowest episode of the seen, but did yield lots of clues and a few answers.

we now know (though we all assumed) that Charles Widmore is behind the freighter expedition, but why?  its obvious that Penny doesn't know her Dad is financing an expedition for the island.

we also find out more about the depths Ben will go to to get what he wants.

here is a good recap:

If you're lucky, MMJ will fill the void you didn't even know you ever had. If you're luckier, you'll get to see them live.

BH

Well ya know how Desmond went back and changed the future so he could call Penny?

I think Ben has complete control of this phenomenom.  That's how the Red Sox tape appeared in the safe.  He manipulates things to make sure he remains king of the island.

He's has the "list" of people from the plane.  Could he have actually made sure they were on that plane somehow in the past?  Didn't it look like he was kind of smiling when he saw the plane crashing, like he knew it was coming.

Remember when Ben went and got Locke's dad somehow.

Hell, I don't know, I'm confusing myself just writing this.

And I'm all hopped up on Evil Urges track listings....

I guess it's obvious that Michael is on the boat...

Well.....I have to watch from the internet tomorrow since I'm on the road tonight :( I guessed about Michael the moment Ben said he had a man on the boat. Did my eyes decieve me, but in the preview was that Claire jumping from the boat?

wow...great episode, but so sad.... :'(

Oh my god! Want to ask but don't want to ask.
No. I won't look at this thread till after Sunday.
(We get the episodes a few days after the US)

I've given the show a lot of try's before this season and it always felt like a series spinning it's wheels with nowhere to go but this season has been great.  And last night's episode has me coming back for more now.  I love how the past, present, and future were all told at the same time during it.

Oh it was sad. And very unexpected.
So how many of the Oceanic Six do we know now?
Kate, Jack, Hurley, Saiyd & Sun.
That's it right?

What about Clair's baby Aaron that somehow Kate has?  I wasn't sure if that counted or not but I guess it should.  Who knows?  So confusing....

Oh yes. I'd forgotten about him. So many threads to follow.
I love it though.

yeah...i'm not sure if Aaron counts as part of the Six or not.  he was not a passenger on the manifest, but he would be considered a survivor of the plane crash (even though he was a fetus!).

so who is responsible for staging the Oceanic crash scene?  the Capt. of the steamer indicated that Ben was responsible, but the note said "don't trust the captain."  and the note was presumably written by Michael who is working for Ben...so its either Ben or Charles Widmore (Penny's dad/Desmond's nemesis) who staged the crash (or some unknown person!).

I still am not sure I believe that anyone staged the crash. :o
