QuoteCurrently 1/2 way thru season 2 of Californication then I'm diggin into the new season Showtime is hold "on-demand".  Hiarious half hour with some dark undertones.  Duchovny is excellent as a comedic lead

Def 1 of my favorite shows going. Duchovny deserves an emmy. Marcy Runkle is one of the funniest characters on television.

I know some people didnt like season 2 as much as season 1, but I loved season 2. Creating the Lew Ashby character was pure gold.

I still think this show is pretty underrated and overlooked. I liked it from the pilot, but you have to watch at least a half dozen episodes to really love the show and get a good understanding of all the people I think.

I have yet to run across a bad episode and I love that!  Poor Hank--he tries but keeps stepping in his own doodie.  The dinner party where he finds out he got Karen's friend preggo was PRICELESS! ;D
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

QuoteI have a hard time finding any Big 4 network show more enjoyable and thoroughly satisfying than Supernatural. I'm glad it's never been a hit.

I really liked the 1st couple seasons--the original show theme song is excellent too--but it started to get kind of lame going into season 3 for me.

Season IV kicked ass and this year is just as great or even better (the last two seasons are better than the first two seasons). I suggest you perhaps re-examine this great show.

Since I value you perspective J, I will give it another go!  Appreciate the encouraging nudge.

Thanks Fanatic. I'll also recommend that you watch some of Season III again. The year is one big arc for the most part. The second half of Season III is fucking nuts, but Season IV, especially the inclusion of some semi-regular angels, makes for some excellent TV.

Mad Men! Meg & Bbill? Wow. Sunday night's episode gave me chills. The writing and acting are just so stellar.

I was really starting to get pissed at Don, but when I saw him so shaken up after Betty's confronting him... I felt sorry for him all over again. God--when he started talking about his half brother, I lost it. Tear city, for sure.
:'(

And also: Joan! When she threw that vase at her no-good husband, I cheered. Is it wrong that I hope the Army ships his ass to 'Nam?

Thoughts as the season draws to a close:

-Who's going to buy SC? (Could it be Gray--that'd be a way for Duck to get back in the mix... and hopefully Sal, too)
-Will Trudy finally discover that Pete is, well, a creeper? Will she ever find out about Peg and Pete's love child?
-Will Miss Farrell go totally, batshit crazy?
-Is Betty going to stand by her man?

yeah don definitely brought the tears, i just love the awkwardness, the propriety of it all..Joan is my hero. Wow, she chucked that vase over the back of the head *note to self, it IS okay to do that if your husband is being a pr*ck, he didn't bleed or anything :-) i HOPE you're right about bringing Sal back into the mix. I was so sad last episode. Looks like Trudi does find out something from the preview.

FACT - Freddie King's Going Down is one the best, if not the best, use of music in TV ever.
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

How great was the last line in the episode?

"Who are you supposed to be?"

And then we see Don, our hero, looking like a confused and scared little boy before a cut to the credits.

Such a great show. Really, if you aren't watching Mad Men, you are missing out.

Who watched Mad Men last night? I don't want to be tossing around a bunch of spoilers if you haven't seen it yet, but... woah.

ALady

Woah indeed.

I need to rewatch this week's and last's, though.

Maybe this is old-hat for the septics but did anyone else see the Seinfeld reunion episode of Curb?  ;D

Curb is excellent this season.  Well, it's always good but I'm really enjoying the Seinfeld storyline.

haven't watched it yet! i'll watch it tonight. last week's episode (the JFK episode) was really moving.

ALady

It really was.  I need to watch the JFK episode again, but for some reason that episode (and only that episode) isn't available on OnDemand...grrrr.

it was SO good. i loved how Peggy stood up for herself and you know there's gonna be something between Joan and Roger next season. Just can't believe Betsy is off to (Reno?) to get divorced. I'm not sure i like or trust that guy.

Just watched the final Bored To Death last night.  What a great show that was.  It went by fast.  I sure hope there is a second season.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

WHOA! I haven't looked in the TV thread in a while, didn't know there was some Mad Men discussion going on! Season finale was really good, ultimate set-up for things to come. I wonder how much Betsy will be involved in future seasons...will Don get involved in politics to bring all parties back together? I still think/hope that Sally will be a young hippie/drug addict by the end of the 60s, but it should be a few seasons till we get there. It was interesting to hear the lawyers talk about early 60s NY divorce law...gotta think it was pretty accurate, Mad Men usually is.

I agree that Sterling and Joan will get something going (again) next season. Both scenes with Don and Peggy (in his office, and in her apartment) were outstanding in the finale. I gotta think that Sal will be brought back into the new firm next season...they've got to keep him around for the Stonewall Riots, plus he's just awesome anyway, too much good potential material and storyline with him.

Mostly, I'm just really pissed that I have to wait a year for new episodes. I figure it'll be '64 or '65 next season, so the Beatles will have landed and things should start gettin' cool! Don will take acid at some point. Mark it.  :o  ;D

Season finale thoughts: The scene in which Don and Betty told the kids of their divorce made me cry... I wonder what will happen to Ken/Smitty/rest of the old SC crew... I was psyched to see Sterling Cooper Draper Price welcome Joan back into the mix... I'm glad Betty stood up to Don, but god, she IS a spoiled brat... Seeing Roger and Don getting along again was great... Man, Roger is hot (silver fox!)...
