Anyone else excited for Boardwalk Empire?

I love the genre, and its gotta be as close to a cant miss show as there is. A writer from The Sopranos, Scorsese directing it, and a cast including Steve Buscemi, Michael Shannon, Gretchen Mol, Dabney Coleman, Michael Pitt, Michael Stuhlberg (A Serious Man), and Michael K. Williams (Omar!)

Wow...cant wait

The Battlestar Galactica prequel, Caprica, starts tonight. Looking forward to it.

We had a loss in the Capt. tree yesterday. Watched the show for a couple of seasons, he was one of the best parts. It gets repetitive, but its a very well done show.

RIP Capt. Phil

I figured this was the most recent thread appropriate to post this link.

Its stupid, but I laughed so hard I hurt myself.

I got a good chuckle out of him stuffing the panties in his pocket. I think SNL has lost it though unfortunately

And now, another exciting episode of "johnnYYac Recommends"

1. Reminder that Breaking Bad season 3 premiers Sunday, right after...

2. ...the second episode of The Pacific on HBO, their follow up to Band of Brothers.

3.  Also, check out Justified on FX (Tues. 10pm) if you're a fan of The Shield and/or Elmore Leonard.  I wonder if My Morning Jacket will contribute to the soundtrack.  The show takes place in Kentucky.

Got the first few episodes on DVR. Pretty pumped, because FX always seems to put out good stuff

I'm always so late on getting into TV shows. I end up catching up through DVD's, borrowing friend's DVD's, and occasionally watching On Demand or Hulu.com. I wish I had HBO, someday I'll pay for it.

Just finished season 2 of Millenium. I bought the entire series set at Best Buy awhile back cause it was really cheap and because I'm a big X-Files fan (Chris Carter created both shows). Season 1 was average, had a great pilot episode and the second half of the season got stronger as it went on. The episodes seemed a bit redundant in season 1 - a different serial killer in the Seattle area just happens to pop up every week. Season 2 was a big improvement, Chris Carter was busy with X-files and didn't have much input in this season. I'm guessing things go downhill with season 3 since it's the last season. Killing off a major character at the end of season 2 was probably a mistake.

I've been borrowing Entourage and Curb Your Enthusiasm DVD's from a couple of my friends. I am currently halfway though season 2 of Curb and just finished season 3, part 2 of Entourage.  I found myself liking Entourage a lot more than I thought I would. I never liked Jeremy Piven for some reason, but he's perfect as Ari. And what can I say about Curb, just hilarious stuff. Larry David is a genius!

I've also been trying to get into 30 Rock. I definitely like it much more than The Office, it seems like I'm the only one who doesn't like that show. I think the 30 Rock cast is a lot funnier/talented. I hate how on The Office the characters talk right at the camera, it reminds me of the confessional thing on The Real World (not that I watch that crap anymore). That Modern Family show even rips off The Office with the talking to the camera thing.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

I cannot stand the US version of the Office either, so you are not alone.

So, Cap'n.  You seen Justified yet?

Just finished Ep 4 of The Pacific followed by Ep 3 of the new season of Breaking Bad.  I think Skyler is next to "break bad".  She'll use her accountant skillz to launder Walt's meth money.

Skip Season I of the US Office and the show will start to kick ass. I did this and I'm glad I did. It's an excellent show (BTW, I'm a HUGE UK Office fan).

I have not yet. Considering the NCAA game is tomorrow night, i'll probably plan on watching 3 episodes or so on tuesday.

I also have all of the Pacifics DVR...I plan on watching at least a couple of those this week. How has that been so far?

To gear up, I rewatched Band of Brothers, which I own.  After watching the first 4 episodes of The Pacific, I'm pretty sure I won't be looking to own the DVD.

I've been disappointed.  The Pacific is good, no question.  BoB raised my expectations, however.  Perhaps its the nature of the conflict in the Pacific; the combat scenes have been nearly the same in each episode.  Charging "Japs" mowed down by entrenched Marines.  Its also hard to top the actors and characters in BoB.  Perhaps I shouldn't be comparing the two miniseries.
