Dexter's great.  You can skip season 3 IMO, but they really brought it last season.

breaking bad is definitely the best show on television right now.  without a doubt.  kick ass writing, great acting, possibly will go down as one of the best shows to ever be created.

Watching his character develop during season 4 was definitely the most entertaining thing the show has done.

I don't usually pop my head in this thread much but boy do I love me some Dexter.  I agree that Season 3 was the weakest.  Jimmy Smits was preposterous. Though. I really dug Season 4, nothing can beat 1 for me.  I mean c'mon.  Dokes was the single greatest character ever.    So long as they stick to Dexter and Matsuka and refrain from too much domestic drama Ill be content.

I did start a Breaking Bad thread to tout Season 3 (http://www.mymorningjacket.com/cgi-bin/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1267026162), but Sticky is the only one to voice an interest until now.  I LOVE this show, perhaps in part because I'm a high school science teacher.  I don't make crystal meth but I'm no saint.  I dig Walt's conflicted character.  It speaks to me.

I thought Season II of Dexter was by far the weakest. I liked Season III, but I agree the IV rocked, almost as much as the first season.

I too am looking forward to True Blood starting up again.

I think my favourite show of the lot is Supernatural. The final two episodes not to mention the entire Season V rocked hard. I really marvel at how the writers/producers go for it, i.e., they produce great and scary episodes with tons of imagination. Another thing that is cool about Supernatural is that it has managed to make the eternal struggle between God and Satan believable and compelling, without going for camp. I can't believe that some of the most evil characters are angels. Jimmy Beaver rules too (he of Deadwood fame).

i think Walt's character is haunting, reminds me of michael douglas in 'falling down'...my jaw dropped last night when skylar dropped the 'i'm f-in Ted'...that's all the farther i am..i didn't watch seasons 1 and 2 so i don't understand the other storylines going on too much but i'm learning.

Trust me, you won't be disappointed.  Season 1 was cut short by a writers' strike (7 espisodes).  Season 2 was off the hook, a wild ride.  I haven't felt this way since The Shield.

in other news finished watching "The Pacific" mini series last night.  Pretty solid.  Definitely recommend it for anyone who dug band of brothers.  It's hard to believe the characters are all based off of real people and events.   Talk about getting stuck in a living hell.

I didn't know the backstory of the Medal of Honor guy, Bassilone (sp?), so I was stunned in Episode 8.  It really grew on me.  I needed to get invested in these characters, so that by the end, I was tearing up during the homecomings and the nightmares.

I just got done watching the first two season of true blood because of this thread.  It was surprisingly sweet.   they suckered me in with the titty and got me to stick around with the blood and gore.  

just started watching season 1 of "Eastbound & Down" and it's pretty hilarious.
