If she was on adult swim, my world would be perfect...

I really need to start watching Weeds.

Adult Swim is showing "old" shows on Friday nights right now.  When I'm able to catch it, its pretty damn funny.  I don't care for a lot of the new shows - Tim and Eric, Tom Goes To The Mayor, Assy, Squidbillies, etc.

I do enjoy Metalocalypse, Home Movies, The Oblongs and Venture Bros.

QuoteTrue Blood #2.  Again.  Awesome.  Hop on people.  You won't be sorry.  Is the theme song Chris Isaac?  Perfect mood setter.
Anybody got a link for the second one? The first one was really good. I'm hoping they explain more about the vamps "coming out of the graves" and such.
I miss Buffy :'(
I only have Showtime right now for Weeds and True, you gotta catch up!Especially since you like MLP. I don't want to spoil anything for you but you get to see alot of her this season.

I figured that, have you seen the promotional shot? In season 3 everyone but MLP showed their ass so I've been waiting for that. I'm gonna have to wait for it to come out on DVD to watch, I'll just have to be patient.

I don't think that's really her ass, dude.  She shows her tits twice this season, though.  Not that I watch that show or anything.

Why wouldn't it be? It is an official advertisement. I won't deny the possibility of photoshopping though.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

True Blood just got the green-light for a second season.

QuoteTrue Blood just got the green-light for a second season.

Sweet.  Are the ratings improving, or are they just convinced it's good?
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

I think I've figured out the ratings confusion. According to Ain't It Cool, the ratings were good for the pilot only after tallying totals for the repeats throughout the week, which totaled 4 million. The Toronto Star reported that the first airing and 10:30 repeat had a combined total of 1.4 million, which isn't good when you compare it to Big Love (4.5 million), Rome (3.8 million) and John From Cincinnati (3.4 million).
I think the show got renewed this quickly because of Alan Ball's pedigree and that it may not be that expensive to produce. Regardless, I'm pleased about True Blood but really pissed about Carnivale and Deadwood's demise. I wish US ratings included Canadian percentages. If it did, I bet Carnivale, Deadwood, Rome, Freaks and Geeks, Arrested Development may have not been canceled.

Yeah, that one left me hanging like no other show ever.  Me and a friend of mine would talk on the phone forever trying to come up with theories to explain all the wierd shit.  What a fun, spooky show that was!  The guy that played the priest was one of the best TV bad guys ever.  Ben from Lost also comes to mind.

Who are your favorite TV bad guys?

Favourite TV bad guys?

Many shows based in reality don't have good bad guys, so I'll have to go geek on some of my choices:

David Brent - The Office
Kahn - King of the Hill
Ben - Lost
Cy Tolliver - Deadwood
Francis Wolcott - Deadwood
Frank Burns - MASH
Brother Justin - Carnivale
Scorpius - Farscape
Spike - Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Doctor Baltar - Battlestar Galactica (the new series)
Gul Dukat - Star Trek DS9
Sylar - Heroes
T Bag - Prison Break
The Devil - Reaper

yeah, I think Mr. Photoshop had a hand in this one.  Not that she needs any help.  btw, the new season is a lot better than the season before, imo.

Im sorry, but this is the greatest 'good' bad guy ever...on a show like The Wire with so many engrossing and interesting characters, he almost takes the cake

Never watched Deadwood or Rome, mostly because I was in school then with no HBO, but Im pretty sure Id def like Deadwood, and Im big on historical stuff, so Id probably like Rome. Not sure If Id like Carnivale, but few HBO shows have disappointed me.

Never got into Big Love...I watched a few John from Cincy and thought it was terrible...Watched most of Tell Me You Love Me and In Treatment and thought they were pretty good, but dont seem like shows you can make season after season interesting to me (maybe basing IT around Gabe Byrnes, but IDK)

Ill have to check out True Blood though..I actually have both episodes on DVR, but havent watched either - I like to watch my HBO dramas in 2-3 episode sittings

Ive always wondered though, do they include DVR recordings as rating?!?!? Ever since I got DVR, I rarely ever actually watch as show when its actually on.

They started including DVR ratings a few years ago. Some shows do far better on DVR than when they originally air; see Bones, Supernatural, Lost, Reaper. If it weren't for DVR ratings, some of the most interesting shows on TV would have been axed.

Anybody remember the show Sports Night? I remember liking it, but its been a long time. I'm considering getting this:

Recommended by K & Capt H (thanks guys!) I bought Seasons 1 - 4 of The Wire blind for $100!!!
What can I say?!! Absolutely incredible television! Without any doubt one of, if not the best show I've ever seen. I steamed through the episodes at breakneck speed & have just ordered Season 5 & the mini-series The Corner.
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Ahhh, but I've yet to watch The Wire. I haven't seen The Sopranos and Oz either. I have The Wire on my radar. I don't care about The Sopranos for some reason even though I love the gangster genre.

Is Dexter a good guy or bad guy? I'm leaning towards good since he's sorta likeable.
