QuotePlus, 'Hamsterdam'....COME ON NOW!! Was that effin great or what? It totally reminded me of what it used to be like when walking thru the parking lot before a Phish show...LOL

"WMD, got that WMD!!!..Bottle Rocket, Bottle Rocket!!" hahah
Yeah Hamsterdam was brilliant. Must have laughed everytime someone said that  ;D

Have you seen The Corner? (the HBO mini-series written by the same people)
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

True Blood's weakest episode is #1. It offers a fairly intriguing set-up, but the following episodes move away from some of the quirkiness of episode #1 the show becomes immediately more addictive and luridly dark.

That's saying a lot as I thought Ep 1 was really strong. I'm gonna have to watch the others soon. Since no HBO, gotta watch online.

QuoteAll new True Blood in 30 mins :) Then Entourage(throws up in mouth).

Ive DVR'd all the True Blood's, but have yet to watch it...Ive heard very mixed reviews. Seems like a show you either love or hate.

As for Entourage, abso-fucking-lutely love it. Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) and Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon) are 2 of the best comedic chracters going on TV right now.

What it might lack in comedic depth, it makes up for in pure entertainment

I agree about the entertainment aspect, but besides Jeremy Piven, the rest are hack actors; prospering off of college students and the appeal of living that life style. There's no substance in my opinion.
Evey: Are you, like, a crazy person?
V: I am quite sure they will say so.

After watching Eps. #1, I thought it did enough to warrant continuing to watch the show. However the next two episodes get better and better. Naturally this is common with all shows due to familiarity and character and plot development, but there's added menace and the creep-factor gets amped-up considerably, plus it's funnier.

Agreed. I think the past couple of episodes have show Ms. Harris' intent for a new style of vampire. It's really quite interesting how she veers from all the vamp norms but still includes them by dismissing their authenticity.

I have seen The Corner, though I think when I rented it I bailed out before I got to the last couple episodes

I thought it was good, and its hard to compare a miniseries to a show like The Wire, but The Wire kills it IMO

What you described as substance, I meant by saying it lacks depth

I dont know if Id say the rest are hack actors - even Martin Landau has been in over a handfull of episodes to name 1 - but I understand your side

That said, a show like Entourage isnt supposed to have substance. Its not Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Its supposed to be entertaining and funny, and I think it wholly succeds in those areas

To add, just how this season is going so far shows theres more to it than Vinny Chase banging Mandy Moore or some other celeb

After a the both himself and his friends bankrolled a movie that totally flopped, he's stuck in movie star purgatory for the time being.

His friend E is a new agent, and trying find clients and make a name for himself. Theres currently a bidding war for a script he has from no-name writers (Giovanni Ribisi and Lukas Haas..more non-hack actors, no?)

And actually, Carla Gugino has had a steady role for about a season now, shes very good as well.

I think Entourage gets a raw deal from people who either dont watch it (and basically thinks its a guys' Sex and the City), or dont watch enough episodes to see how varying stories progress.

Considering some of the actors who have either been in an episode or 2, or moonlighted for a handful plus, its obvious a lot of actors think its a good show. Otherwise, they wouldnt do it

No, but I never miss the Amazing Race.  I love hippies, but people the show is called the Amazing RACE - not the Amazingly Cool Stroll Around the World.

ha ha....nice! I would highly recommend Amazing Cakes, though--it's got the same off the hook excitement. The other night you should have seen them scrambling to get the windmills just right for Ed Begley Jr's 'green friendly' cake.

I watch Ace of Cakes but I guess that's different.  What channel is it on?  I watch Amazing race too, but no amazing cakes...yet.

Amazing cakes follows from 4 different cities (i think 4) same concept. Ace of Cakes they get more into the actual cake makers' lives. I like them both. AC is on WE. i think Ace of cakes is on HG? i can't remember

Ace of Cakes is on Food.  The receptionist girl is the sister of the lead singer of Clutch for what it's worth.  I'm not too familiar with Clutch.

I have no idea what Ace of Cakes is, but Clutch is a fucking great stoner rock/hard rock band. If you like Zeppelin, Sabbath and elements of funk and jam, then this is your band.

I might like them if they had a different vocalist (my recurring complaint with stoner rock)
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Is anyone else tired of Entourage? I liked it, then I realized it was a one trick pony. Vince doesn't want to something, Eric tells him that's the way it is and he has to play the game. Ari yells at Lloyd. Turtle tries to get into someone's pants. It's just... I don't know. It's old. And I freakin' hate Vince.

Anywho. Where are my True Blood people? I started reading the books. I'm on book 6 now. *blushes* I've fallen victim to the vampire trend! Gah!!!!
