Quote0-2!!!!

So they say that about 13% of teams that start off 0-2 make the playoffs. Well they also said that Hulk Hogan couldn't bodyslam Andre The Giant and Steve Urkel would never get a date with Laura Winslow. They were wrong!

Playing NO in opening week isnt good for anybody, but I dont think anyone expected them to be 0-2. The D still looks like one of the best in the league, but Farve looks rusty, if not old, and he has no receiving options. Sidney out for at least half the year, Harvin is simply not suited as a #1 WR on the outside all game, and Berrian might as well be a homeless man's Lee Evans. All he has is Visanthe friggin Shiancoe. Could be a long season, but the D should help them turn the year around.

Dallas on the other hand, getcha popcorn ready. I think theyre in for a long season and firings have a good chance of happening before the year is over.

Pretty crazy that Miami, KC, TB, Chicago are all 2-0. Less surprising if you go by name, but I think its also a surprise the Texans and Steelers are 2-0 based on opponent and QB suspension, respectively. GB (and possibly NO pending tonight) are really the only team(s) living up to preseason hype thus far, although Atlanta, Indy, and San Diego all seem to be perfectly fine based on how they looked this week.

Outside of the teams that were basically expected to be 0-2 and DAL and MIN, it looks like CAR is just a trainwreck and being coached terribly. John Fox is probably gone after this year, maybe D-Willy too. And despite being 0-2 and having a backup QB in, DET has been in both games until the end and look like they could have a decent year (for them).

NYJ, Patsies, Bungals, BALT, NYG, Philly, and maybe SF all look like expected playoff teams that could be at early season crossroads. Each, for the most part has looked impressively good one week and alarmingly bad in the other. All should be at least .500 teams, but Im not yet sure which ones are those 10-6 or 11-5 type teams like 2 or 3 of them should. I think Philly was crazy for getting rid of McNabb (especially to a division rival that like looks like it will be a tough team this yr), but also now benching Vick for Kolb. Vick has put up pro bowl numbers the last 1.5 games, whereas Kolb has only looked good once in his entire career (KC last year), and struggled this preseason, as well as camp, and against GB last week. Smells like Reid trying to not look like a fool for trading away his franchise player. Id also like to thank the Bungals for beating the Ravens yesterday allowing us to be in sole possession of 1st place in the division  :-*

I'm wondering how the Pitt fans reacted to the Terry Bradshaw comments towards Benny? He was pissed.

QuoteI'll just say it, dudes who wear jerseys look extremely gay.

Hmmm, that's kinda true. I think it's gay if a grown man is wearing a jersey to go to store or while mowing the lawn, but if you're at the game or at a Superbowl/playoff party then I think it's fine.

I have a feeling that if it was 1999 and FUBU jerseys were out and about still...you'd be getting jiggy with it.

Flacco was terrible but the Ravens were really screwed by the refs badly!
Da Bears.  Cutler takes so much heat, some of it deserved for not protecting the ball and also being the biggest dickhead ever.  But, he's the best the Bears have had in my lifetime.  He moves the ball up and down the field at will with a bad oline and middling receivers.  Much needed good start.
Ahhh the Jets.  Great job of showing up.  I knew that last Monday was an aberration but it was nonetheless important for Sanchez to have a good game.  They seem to have Brady's number.  Hell of a job on a short week.
Sorry 'bout them Vikes Walts.  I had Miami straight up. 8-)  Really overlooked team going in.  If they get anything out of Henne, they are a fine team.  Have the Tavaris chants begun?

I'd assume you'd win that bet. You always pick right.  ;)

But please, call him Travis Jackson. I guess my complaint is about our only good player...AP. Yeah, he did good and got hella yards, but find the zone, kid! Finish the job!

Cutler's very good. He's never going to throw the fewest INTs in the league, but I dont think he'll surpass 20 again any time soon either. Bears D looks pretty good. I dont think theyll take the division from GB, but right now they look more dangerous than MIN and should have a great shot at the wild card.

Im not sure which game was an aberration for Sanchez, to be honest. I think its more in the middle of the 2. I dont think he throws for less than 100 yards more than once again this year, but I dont think he'll throw 3 or more TDs more than a couple times again either. If you average his 2 games, its about 150yds, 1.5 TDs, and a 96.4 rating. That sounds more like what Id expect this year, with his yds going up, and his rating going down a little once the INTs start to add up.

Oh, you got some competition for best D in the league this year too  8-)

Great win for the Saints last night against the hated 9'ers. I watched the Saints lose games like that for decades, so it was awesome to see them pull it out (was there ever a doubt?).

SF is the real deal, though, and if Singletary can get them to reign in their mistakes, they'll be a force to reckon with.

That fumble in the redzone cant happen, but neither of those tipped ball INTs were really Smith's mistake, especially the first one.

I still dont know how SEA smashed SF last week though.

Not so sure about that after seeing SF get taken to the woodshed by the surprising 3-0 Chiefs.

God damn conservative play calling on our last drive to run the clock out and prevent defense when ratbirds have to drive 50 yards in over a minute blows the game for us  >:(

At least Roeth will be back after the bye, but this is a sour tasting 3-1

They weren't in prevent on the final play though.  They overloaded and the Ravens picked it up.  Great game though.  It was a good day to be in B'more

that Steelers/Ravens rivalry is turning into the best in the NFL.

Completely agree and would add that I feel it already has been for at least a few years.

I am not A Ravens fan but I will say that the two and sometimes three Steelers games a year are the biggest events in Baltimore and th outcomes strongly affects the mood of the city.  When you consider the hard hitting blue collar makeups of both cities and teams and more importantly the fact that both franchises have been consistently successful over the past ten years give or take a year, it is the perfe@ct formula for a vicious rivalry.  Geographic proximity helps too.

All the others don't hold up because either one of the teams haven't been good for a while or just the fact that some cities care about other things.

SF (baseball) Gaints?  Or are you talking about The NY Football Giants out there at the New Meadowlands stadium?

If you were in SF at the Giants game, that would have been such a blast to be there when they clinched.
