Well, Id like to start off by congratulating the current world champion New Orleans Saints. Big ups!

Now, I know theres been a lot of talk about this years NFL FA, but wow, today has hit like a Ruthian called shot.

-Cromartie goes to NYJ for a 3rd (..and has 7 kids to 6 women  ::))
    > -sidenote: they also let Thomas Jones go. I realize the guy is over 30 and was due some loot, but he also just had the best year of his career and is a locker room guy...I know they have Greene (and LWash), but I question getting rid of a guy who has shown no decline in skill and brings it in the leadership category

-Ratbirds get Q Boldin for a 3rd and 4th rounder (....really?! FUCK, god damn ratbirds. Last team I wanted to get Q)
  >-sidenote: so the Cards lose Boldin, Warner, Dansby, and Antrel Rolle....wow, they be _ _ _ _ ed

-Ben Roeth apparently has another girl claiming he sexually assaulted her (at first I was very pessimistic on this, but then I heard the girl in her statement/questioning stated his exact height and weight, so it sounds fishy)

-Oh yeah, ho hum, Da Bears signed Julius Peppers and Chester Taylor

Phins got Dansby and Pennington is on his way back... pretty exciting news I think!
Oh I'll never say I knew you, but my heart can't wait to meet you on the other side

Cromartie and Revis.....thats just scary  :D

Im expecting at least 10 picks this year from Cromartie with all the balls that are going to be coming his way.

Whats the over/under on how many of his 5 pending paternity tasts come back positive for him?

Panthers ditched Delhomme, thank Jesus! Maybe us Charlotteans will have something to be proud of again this year. They're talking like Matt Moore isn't going to be the 1st string QB. He did an awesome job after Delhomme "broke his finger." I hope they use him

I'd hate to be a quarterback facing the Jets. That's some scary shit right there.

Bengals got a visit from TO last night. Should be interesting to see if they sign him. I'd personally like to see it.

capt. scotty

id love to see TO as a bungal and LT as a viking and apparently trying to sway Farve into coming back...just makes for more good storylines

Bengals just signed Antonio Bryant so I'd say the TO experiment is done in Cincy. Thank goodness!  We should have just held on to TJ.  I don't really know much about Bryant other than he seems to underachieve in fantasy.

Bryant is solid and at this point better than TO in all liklihood. You could say he's underachieved, but he's played in Dallas (the Carter and Hutchinson years), CLE, SF, and TB. Palmer is clearly the best QB he's ever had and I dont think he's ever had a legit WR lining up opposite him, certainly no one like 85. He should be an average at worst WR2

At 4yrs, $28mill though, Im surprised they didnt go after Boldin more. Id rather the bungals have Boldin than the ravens too

I would love to see TO disappear completely. If he wasn't huge I would punch him in the face if I ever saw him. I hate that guy. Favre needs to give it up. He had a great season but he really lost steam toward the end. He got the crap beat out of him last couple of games. I really want to see the 49ers do something this year. They started out so well then went to hell. Its been years since I have been able to proudly say I'm a 49ers fan, it would be nice

Other than the part about being a 9ers fan, I think I posted those exact same thoughts three years ago.  Some things never change, I guess, even in the NFL.

To all you KC fans out there....feel extremely lucky that you signed Thomas Jones, hes a great player/teammate/leader.  Man i hope letting him go doesnt bite the Jets in the ass  :-/

What a crazy offseason so far.  Good for the Ravens to retain Mason and get Boldin and Stallworth.  They can now concentrate on the secondary, pass rush and TE in the draft.  The Bears can spend all they want.  If they don't fix that O'line, nothing else matters.  While I'm happy the Jets got a decent pick in return for Kerry Rhodes, I'm not that high on Cromartie.  Let's not forget that San Diego pass D has been atrocious for years even when Merriman was juiced.  Add to that having big leads courtesy of Rivers and it was easy for Cromartie to jump routes and get picks.  He still isn't a great cover guy but he is an improvement over Lito Shepard

Me too. I started rooting for them when Singletary took over, even more so when they drafted Glen Coffee. I think they are on the right track. They just need to work some of the kinks out. I think Smith did a pretty damn good job when he won over the starting position. If you look at his numbers, he did well but they just couldn't pull out the wins. It's not like they got the shit beat out of them a lot. Seems like I remember most of their games being pretty close in the 4th quarter. Having him work with the starting team in pre-season should help... and the same thing goes for Crabtree. He did a pretty great job jumping right in there last season.

I agree 100%! hated to see TJ go but that's the business. I think they will be fine w/ SG/LT/LW plus I'd love to see Golden Tate drafted as a 3rd receiver/ running back option in wild cat.  The secondary is just about set, maybe pick up another db, Rex use's a lot of them.  I'm very optimistic about this season, something that's unusual & kind of scary for us Jets fans!
Can't wait for opening Monday night in my new PSL Mezzanine level seats.....that PSL still drives me crazy but what can you do!

capt. scotty

I think the Jets RB corps is fine how they are, but it doesnt make much sense swapping out TJ for LT. TJ is much better at this point, plus a leader in that locker room. Id assume TJ expected to have more interest on the market than he did and felt disrespected by NYJ so didnt want to return regardless at that point, but I think they shouldve stepped up and paid him (not pay him the 6mill like i think he was supposed to make though).

....cant wait for the draft, and Im kind of excited for the 1st round on a thursday night despite knowing itll be hard to wait 2 days for the draft to proceed. Talk around here has been the Steelers trading up for Joe Haden if he drops out of the top 10 or so. Im a fan of this idea.

Hasn't Haden already dropped well out because of his 40 times?

Am I the only one that isn't high on Golden Tate at all?  Maybe I'm missing something.

He was supposed to drop bc his combine 40 was slow, but at the Florida pro-day he ran a 4.43 and 4.44 I believe so I think is stock is back up where it was

The mocks I just looked at had him going 13, 13, and 16 which seems about right and would be reasonable to trade up from 18. Walterfootball.com actually has us taking Rolando McClain who I might prefer over Haden actually, but I dont see McClain falling to us.

I didnt really see Tate play very much, but his combine numbers were very good so I surmise that is why he's slated as a late 1st. Walterfootball actually has the Jets taking him. I think he could be a great #3 WR to Cotchery & Edwards, but I would think the Jets might have a bigger need?
