At least there's baseball.  Go Giants!

i was at the Giants game on Sunday, Walter!

SF (baseball) Gaints?  Or are you talking about The NY Football Giants out there at the New Meadowlands stadium?

If you were in SF at the Giants game, that would have been such a blast to be there when they clinched.

baseball! AT&T Field..i have a sweet video of the last out!
i was in town for that hardly strictly bluegrass fest but skpped it on sun for the game  i got a standing room only ticket...
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

QuoteGod damn conservative play calling on our last drive to run the clock out and prevent defense when ratbirds have to drive 50 yards in over a minute blows the game for us  >:(

At least Roeth will be back after the bye, but this is a sour tasting 3-1
;D

They weren't in prevent on the final play though.  They overloaded and the Ravens picked it up.  Great game though.  It was a good day to be in B'more

that Steelers/Ravens rivalry is turning into the best in the NFL.
Completely agree and would add that I feel it already has been for at least a few years.

I am not A Ravens fan but I will say that the two and sometimes three Steelers games a year are the biggest events in Baltimore and th outcomes strongly affects the mood of the city.  When you consider the hard hitting blue collar makeups of both cities and teams and more importantly the fact that both franchises have been consistently successful over the past ten years give or take a year, it is the perfe@ct formula for a vicious rivalry.  Geographic proximity helps too.

Im biased, but Id agree its been the best rivalry of the past decade, especially considering id bet the w-l record is pretty close to even in the rivalry.

I actually think its been toned down the last few years since Joey Porter left and we dont really have any trashtalkers on D, and Ray Lewis has seemingly gotten old and quit trash talking to the point where the occasional T-Sizzle statement hits the front page. There's definitely still hatred in the air during these games, but its mostly with the old guard and I dont feel that guys like Flacco really understand it or get into it as much.

Oh, and Miami already fired their special teams coordinator after last nights shitshow  ;D

i wouldnt care, but that really made it a terrible week for my picks, and I think Miami wouldve won if it wasnt for like 28pts off ST plays

Not to start an argument, but only 14 of New England's 41 points were from special teams, one TD each for kickoff return (Tate) and blocked FG (Arrington).  Another TD came from an interception (Chung), one from a pass (Woodhead), and one rushing TD (Green-Ellis).  And they had 2 FGs.

Also, if not for the kickoff return and blocked FG TDs, Brady would have been back in for at least 2 more offensive series, likely scoring on at least one of those.

So, assume Brady is 3 and out for 2 more series and remove the shitty play of Miami's special teams and you still have NE beating them 20-14.

I'm just sayin'. ;)

The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

capt. scotty

1 of those TDs was like a 10yd drive from a blocked punt though. And I might be forgetting something else.

Either way, I'll just say NE doesnt scare me much this year - and Im pretty sure we play you. Not saying you cant beat us, but 5 years or so ago playing New England would always get me nervous. If you send Moss to Minnyap, Im even less scared.

Oh, and $10 Yim's Pickle picks up Woodhead!

This Randy Moss trade to Minnesota means I'm going to have to hope that Favre plays well...exact opposite of what I wanted to do when I initially drafted my team Viking-less

NOOOOoooooOOooo... :-X

So its official then?! Nice. I like my team better now with Moss in Minnesota. No reason to be mad about his situation and he's on a team that arguably has a better shot at the super bowl. No bye week either now. Back on the fast track and Farve will be tossing him bombs on the reg.  8-)

Thanks for droppin Aaron Hernandez for me too Big Boss Man, because his targets should only increase, especially in the redzone.  :P

you really think the Vikings are going to roll into the Meadowlands and beat the Jets Monday night? If they do, they'll be 2-2. I don't think they will (and neither does Vegas, Jets -4) and that means they're 1-3. Hardly a team I'd "argue" is in Super Bowl contention, especially after losing to the Fish at home. I see the Vikings as being desperate and needing something, and Moss was there. They're going into a killer strecth: at Jets, Cowboys, at Packers, at Patriots. They'll be lucky to come out of there 2-2.

After the Saints, the Packers are the cream of the NFC

Id like you to show me where I said theyre going to beat the Jets in that paragraph.

Moss is on my fantasy team in the MMJ fantasy football league, so I was mostly referring to liking his chances to put up numbers in Minny > NE, especially since he's happy about his situation now. But like I said, I think the Vikings have arguably a better shot to the SB from the NFC, than the Pats do from the AFC at this point. Plus, the biggest reason the Vikings have struggled is because of no legit receiving options with Harvin best served in the slot and being headachy, and a lack of a deep threat.

And this aint 2009 no more, Trace, its 2010. The Packers are the cream of the NFC and your Saints havent looked very impressive and almost lost against not 1 but 2 teams yet to have a win.

There's a thread for fantasy football, right?  :-/

And since you're using the "almost" logic to talk about the Saints, let me go there now. Let me see, since the Saints missed a game winning 29 yard FG against the Falcons, then using your logic, they are closer to being "almost" 4-0 than "almost" being 1-3, considering no one missed a last second FG that would have beaten the Saints.

In the real world:  3-1 = 3-1 and posts about "fantasy football" belong on the "fantasy football" thread.

Welcome back Moss! Now the Vikings have someone to throw a deep ball to. Headdy, since I'm a huge homer, you wanna trade me Moss? I was looking at his stats, and I think his targets/yac/rpg will go up now. Trade him while he's high!

Also Tracy if you're going to bring up Vegas, please put Vegas in the sports betting thread...thanks, bud!

Im not sure who your RBs are offhand, but if you got a legit RB1 then we might be able to work out some deal. My wideouts are pretty good and my RBs are all average besides Best

Im just saying if I was a Saints fan, I wouldnt feel near as confident against the best teams in the NFC now compared to before the season started. Your 5th in points for, and 6th in points against in the NFC against teams with a combined record of 4-11. This Vikings team that you dont think is all that good you beat 14-9, without Moss.

Last year you were dominating teams.

I looked at your team. Yeah, you def dont have that RB1 I was thinking about. You have both KC and MIA duos, so Im not sure how youll feel about each of those 4 exactly.

Just throwing this out there to see what you think:

Marshall, Charles, Roethlisberger for Moss, Torain, Clayton

-Im guessing you still like Andre more than Marshall despite the injury, if not, Id rather have Andre in some trade anyway.
-Portis is out 4-6 weeks, Torain is the guy. Regardless if we do a trade or not, I think Portis is done for the year and if I were you Id drop him. They said the muscle separated from the bone, considering this is a 30 yr old injury riddled Portis, I think 8 weeks minimum and once he comes back I wouldnt trust him in my playoff lineup anyway. Im 4-0 in my other league so not desperate, but I dropped Portis yesterday for Brandon Tate. Portis is dead roster weight me thinks
-Clayton makes the most sense as the 3rd part. You def need help at WR, Clayton might not have the name but if youve seen him and Bradford this year, he's a lock for Top 24 WR. Actually bet a buddy $50 this week that he ends up a Top 24 WR this year.

I guess the mighty Max Hall lead Cardinals are dat team!  ;D

Still the cream of the NFC my ass...They probably arent even the cream of teh NFC South

Looks like the G-Men have turned things around...I'll gladly take another loss to the Bungals, TB with a nice bounceback after the beatdown we gave them....Dallas and San Diego still looking like they wont be playing in January...GB is gonna be in trouble if Finley's out for awhile

Trash talk after 5 games? To a Saints fan? In your limited world experience as a human being and a sports fan, you have no clue how talking smack about the Saints being 3-2 is actually a compliment to a Saints fan. Seriously, you have no clue what I have endured over 40 years and I find your smack both refreshing and child like.  :)

Having a kicker who can make a 29 yard field goal would be nice. And, if the Saints don't turn the ball over, we win. I wish Brees hadn't thrown so many INT's, however, at the end of the day, I'll take Brees and his picks over having a rapist as leader in the huddle.  :-/

Underachieving reigning team? Come on man, really? Tell me how the Steelers did last year. Tell me how they did as the "reigning championship team". Seriously, I want to hear all about their playoff run last year as "reigning champs". ;D ;D ;D

Too easy? You just made my entire point on how frustrating it is to have your team that just won the super bowl playing like that/this.

At least we were missing Troy and Aaron Smith for most of the year...Who are you missing, Reggie Kardashian?
