I wish my team had Samuel L. Jackson as a fan, I guess I'll just take Prince and his horrible song. But Samuel, what's with no motherfucka?

Walts, you hear this breaking news that TO signed with the Bungals? Thats gotta be the biggest move in Free Agency this year, in all sports, combined. Maybe it even deserves its own thread, maybe.

Yeah I did hear this last night. Ochocinco sent an email to JT the Brick's show last night, and mentioned it. Chad said he's fine with catching 6TD's and 60reps. I don't know, I still think TO can ball, and I think these last 2 off-seasons humbled him.

Fuck Hard-Knocks, son. I'm waiting for VH1 to premiere a show about this.

Again with the whole "own thread" thing.

Did anyone read ESPN's power rankings?  Nothing that enlightening but there were a few kinda funny gut-punch quips...unless you're fans of those teams of course:

http://espn.go.com/nfl/powerrankings?year=2010&week=0

My Bears:  "Do people realize QB Jay Cutler is just 24-29 as a starter?"  Yes.  Yes we do.  But for some reason, I still have hope for this year.  He just needs to make better decisions.  Easier said than done, I know, especially with a less-than-stellar cast of receivers.  I still don't know why we didn't go after any big name, big play receivers(Brandon Marshall would've been my choice).

The Browns:  "The first year of the Mike Holmgren era could be rough. This team lacks talent across the board."  Ouch.

The Bills:  "The only thing the Bills can look forward to is the 2011 draft and a new quarterback."  Packing it in before the season starts.  Nice.  Probably right though.
We could.

So Dez Bryant out 4-6 weeks, Benson wont be suspended, Welker and Sidney Rice on teh PUP list, Harvin and Desean Jax carted off the field, Steelers sign Flozell Adams, bunch of 1st round DPs signed.

Pretty eventful 1st weekend of TC.

Take home point: Bernard Berrian is poised for a big year  8-)

Being an OSU alum, I'm pretty bummed about Dez being out for a month. When I was little I was a 49ers' fan and the Cowboys always killed the Niners. When I was a little older I went to high school about 10 miles away from where Troy Aikman went to high school so that gave me another reason to hate the Cowboys, and this was really the first time I've ever had any desire to cheer for the Cowboys and now Dez gets hurt.

As a lifelong Cowboys fan, let me assure you that the 49ers did their fair share of killing the Cowboys.  'The Catch' is arguably one of my least favorite memories of following sports!  >:(

It sucks Dez went down and it was on the freaking 2nd to last play of practice?!  :(  I still think he will be a major contributor for the Cowboys this season.  He was doing excellent in TC up to the point of being injured (save the misunderstanding about rookies carrying the vets pads  :P).  I really think he's going to be pretty special!   8-)

I'm quarter owner (with my bro, sis, and her inlaws) of semi-shitty seats at Gilette Stadium.  I got my two games today.  Curious to know who here will be rooting against my Pats:

Game 1- Season Opener- Patriots vs. Bengals 9/12 @ 1:00 pm

Game 7- Patriots vs. Packers 12/19 @ 8:20 pm

Is the dynasty over?  Will Welker make a comeback?  Will Randy Moss grow some balls?

I'm a fan, but not a stats snob, so don't try to take me on with your encyclopedic knowledge of every players' cup size.  I'm just looking forward to another season, another reason.

Dez may not be the sharpest crayon in the box there was a reason he only played a handful of games last season as a Poke. I thought the jab at Williams was funny but typical Dez, too.

I wish we took Dez instead of Pouncey, especially since we lost Santonio, but I do think Pouncey will be an OL anchor for a decade plus.

Hines is very near the end of his career though, and although I think Mike Wallace will be a solid WR for awhile, he's not the do-everything type of wideout I think Dez will be. We need to either draft or acquire a top notch WR for Ben Roeth in the next year or 2.

I almost had the Jets game tix, but my brother's mother in law snagged em.  I hope the Jets suck ass, but they're looking stronger than New England, at least on paper.  Still, anything's possible in NE.

Farve once again blowing smoke up the media's ass saying he'll retire. That team is too good, and he's coming off arguably the best year of his career. He'll be back.

I hope he's back. I wish he would've got his ass into camp this year. Christ, we have a big game right off the bat, and you'd think he'd wanna make sure he's in the best shape he can be in, and also be in a groove with the other players.

I did go to training camp yesterday. There's nothing more embarrassing then seeing grown men running and yelling to get autographs of future practice squad members. I could understand kids. But adults out running their kids by a block just so they can get a worthless autograph is pathetic.

Not sure if theyve mentioned it out there, but there has been a lot of talk on the sports radio out here about how the Ravens at TC this year are only signing autographs for kids 6-15 years old. Seems like a pretty good idea to me.

I dont get those auto seekers either. I mean, as a kid, Id get athletes to sign paper or a baseball if I saw them, but even back then, I never paid for an autograph unless I got a certificate of authenticity with it. I dont know who would pay $$$ for the sigs these dipshits try to get and sell.

This is an interesting issue.  On it's face, it sounds like the right thing to do because of all the pushing that the older assholes do to get an autograph.  However, a more reasonable solution would have been to have a kids signing section and an adults signing section.  I believe the real reason behind this is simply financial, acquiescing to the wants of the players.  By limiting the number of autographs given out (only to kids), simple supply and demand dictates increased value of scarcer autographs allowing players to get more at signing sessions.

My two cents

Totally agree!  I never understood what is so freaking awesome about some barely legible scribble on a picture or a ball makes something suddenly worth more money.  Now, if we're talking about a legend or something, that is a different strory.  But to act like a raving lunatic to get some practice team scrub's autograph is a bit much IMO.  ::)

BTW Walts, were you really expecting Farve to show up for the ENTIRE training camp?  It just wouldn't be August if we didn't have to deal with Farve being the top story on ESPN every single day?!  I give him until maybe a week before the Vikes' first preseason game until the circus comes to Minnesota...  :P
