QuoteCrosby hits 50 goals  [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif]

After the game ended they said they changed it to Guerin. Did they change it back again?

No, he's at 49...I didnt realize they changed it back until after that post. Im actually surprised they gave it to Crosby in the first place. It still helps him for the Hart & Art Ross trophies, but I want him to win the Richard more than either of those

Quoteplayoff game for the rangers tonight.

just.win.

Great game!!! Even if they don't make it, or if they do and get bounced in the first round it's nice to see them not lying down. I rarely give Slats credit for anything but claiming Christensen & trading for Prust & Shelley turned out to be great moves. Good role guys that they will need if they want to improve next season.

If its Erik Christensen that youre talking about, he's a solid 3rd/4th liner...great in shootouts too

Yup, it is Erik. He has been great for the rangers so far, even spending time on the 1st line.

And yes, that was a great game. It took me a while to warm up to Prust/Shelley, but man, those guys have been awesome lately. I'm also glad to see Voros back in there. I think I'm the only Rangers fan who likes him, but he tries hard. I love the hard effort guys, they won us the game last night. Do it again on Sunday.

Jbones72

I agree with you about Voros, although he drives you nuts with the penalties he takes sometimes, but you need a guy like him on your team.  Tomorrow is gonna be fun!

ok. 40 minuntes untill the game starts. i am officially nervous. i have some cold ones ready to calm me down/make me more nervous. i don't care if the rangers get knocked out in the first round, just dont let the season end at the hands of the flyers. please.

In today's big game, I'm cheering for the Flyers for a number of reasons: they are loaded with quality Canadians; they play a mean rough-and-tumble brand; they had lots of injuries, but are a team that could have a long playoff run; they are more fun since teams hate to play them; and , I hate the Rangers. Should be a good game though. Fuck Ottawa, Washington, Montreal and Detroit. Oh, and I'm no lover of the Canucks either. Bruins!!!!!

Im rooting for Philly too. Theyre my favorite Eastern Conf team to knock out of the playoffs, although its highly unlikely we would play them this year

I've never been a fan, even back in the Esposito/John Davidson era. I do like that Rangers fans still boo Potvin. I respect the franchise and love that they get loyal fan support, but no, I've rarely liked the make-up of their teams; however, I was a big Adam Graves fan since his Oilers days. I like Mess too. However, the Rangers are important to the history and present and future success of the NHL.

First off, god damn Stamkos getting an empty netter with 13 seconds left to force a tie between him and Crosby for the Rocket Richard. I know this sounds like sour grapes, but in the event of a tie for an award like this, I think having less ENG's should be the tiebreaker (just like id say the Art Ross tiebreaker should be whoever has more goals)

...anyway, Philly beating NYR really makes the playoff matchups interesting. I doubt Caps have any trouble vs Habs. Im not worried about Ottawa - especially with Kovy out for the year - but I always enjoy playing them and they could make it a good series. The other 2 series are what Im really pumped for though. Philly is 4-1-1 vs NJ this year. If Boucher or whoever is in net for Philly plays solid, I think the have a decent chance. Boston is 2-2 vs Buffalo, and while I expect Buffalo to win, Rask has been great and Tim Connolly is currently still injured so I could see the B's making this a long series and maybe winning

that's fair.

there so many teams i despise that made the playoffs in the east that i really don't see myself being happy with the outcome. go bruins i guess. altho that would mean i have to listen to milbury toot his fat stupid horn. [smiley=undecided.gif]

But Don Cherry would more than even out Milbury.

To me, the most incredible goal scorer of the past two seasons has been Stamkos (his stats don't lie). He is the 3rd youngest to score 50 and has scored the most goals in a year-and-a-half. I can't believe he didn't make the Canadian Olympic team. I realize TB is a good bad team, but Stamkos has become a leader amongst Vinny and Marty, which is no small feat. BTW, I'm impressed by Crosby this year as a goal-scorer. He turned into a scorer instead of a playmaker; the guy can do a lot of everything.

Yeah, his performance in the playoffs last year goal scoring, shooting when he should, and hanging around the net really made me wonder why I had never seen him play like that before, as he looked like he finally trusted his own ability or something. He definitely carried that style into this season, and his numbers show it. Most complete player in the NHL.

ugh...terrible game. Not enough shots on net, especially the first period. Poor defense giving up too many scoring chances. Bad penalties taken. A soft goal or two by Fleury, and the other goals werent necessarily soft, but he gave them great chances.

Neither goalie was good, but that was a game you have to win if you want to move on
