QuoteGoing to Target Field for the first time on Wednesday. Twins are playing the Yankees. It should be a great game to watch. I checked weather.com, and it's calling for rain. What a great problem to have! Outdoor baseball!

Have a great time Walts!  It's awesome that you guys got a proper, beautiful stadium.  Now for the Vikes...

We're working on getting the Vikes a new stadium. Hopefully groundbreaking should be happening soon, and its an open-air stadium. I just respect outdoor fans/teams so much more.

So you guys think Target Field looks pretty good?

Were you a banana cup guy or a traditional cup guy? Or were you a free balling outfielder?

I never wore a cup, just felt way too awkward. I pitched and played 1st base, and even after seeing a pitcher get a liner straight in nuts and lie there for 15 minutes, still never wore one.

So the first time going to Target Field didn't turn out as well as I'd like. We lost both games. As a bonus, I was able to watch the last 4 innings of the game that got suspended the night before. We had tickets on the 3rd base line, which is the side to be on. It had a beautiful view of the skyline. Didn't try anything new as far as food goes. I wanted to try the walleye on a stick, but settled for a brat. Perfect weather, but a little too hot for me. I think it was in the mid to upper 80's. Overall glad we got the new stadium.

Walleye on a stick !!!!  You guys got a great new stadium. It's gotta be a shitload nicer than the roller dome.   I'm gonna try to get up north this summer to spend some time with my stepmom in River falls, wi and I'm gonna try to catch a ball game.

Ha, we love our fish here! So much better than the dome. I got so used to saying "I'm going to the dome". I caught myself saying "I'm going to the Target Field" a couple times. You should definitely make it up for a game.

I wish all announcers were like this. Get the people mad and put the pressure on the team to get talent. I respect his honesty.

LOL!  As a resident of NE Ohio and unfortunately an Indians fan as well, trust me, the fans have been mad at the Indians ownership for, welllll, since the Dolans bought the team?  ::)  I'm so sick of hearing Larry Dolan say that he can't spend the money on his baseball team becuase we the fans don't show up at the ballpark to support this team.  Well, my response lately is that if I want to go watch minor league baseball, I'll go watch the Akron Aeros or the Columbus Clippers where the price of everything is about 1/2 as much as what you would spend watching what amounts to a minor league team up in Cleveland?!  He is a joke of an owner and until he sells this team, the Indians will be a joke of a franchise...  :-/

And Bruce Drennan (in the video) has also never been afraid to tell it like it is.  I believe he's a sports radio hall of famer whose been on the Cleveland airwaves for quite some time.  I always enjoy listening to his takes.  I think the clip you posted above came last week after the Indians were swept at home to the freaking Royals?!   :o  :-/

You Minnesotans are a tough crowd.   ;D.  Ya get your outdoor stadium and now it's too hot?  That Walleye on a stick has peaked my interest.

Alright! Another AL central guy.  8-)

I wish MN had a minor league team close to home. We have the St. Paul Saints. Its not a minor league team, but I games are really fun to go to.

Whose minor league teams are located in Akron and Columbus?

Ruckus, anything over 75 is too hot here  ;D

QuoteWhose minor league teams are located in Akron and Columbus?

Cleveland's AA affiliate is the Akron Aeros and the Indian's AAA affiliate is the Columbus Clilppers.  The Clippers used to be the Yankees AAA affiliate and the Indians had their AAA affiliate in Buffalo until a couple of years ago.

I have yet to make it to a Clippers game but Akron is only about 1/2 hour from where I live so it's a nice alternative to take a family of 5 to see some professional baseball.  And you can't beat the intamacy!

And like I said above, with the state of the big league Indians, it's a crime that they are charging big league prices to see that team.   :P

honestly didn't even know he was still playing.

WOW!

Jim Joyce with one of the worst big calls ever!

Takes a perfecto away by blowing the call at 1st base on what should have been the 27th and last out!! >:(

The runner was out by a step and a half. I don't know what the hell Joyce was looking at.

I was against it until tonight, but I think it might be time for a coaches replay challenge in MLB.
