My wife somehow managed to sneak The Devil Wears Prada onto out rental list & it just got delivered. Anyone seen it? Any good? I have no desire to watch it but have read some good reviews, should I give it a go?
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Devil Wears Prada is quite funny in places - Streep is on good form.  Perfect Saturday night no-brain film.

BTW - is that a moomin as your avatar?  That brings back some memories...
The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side

Cheers Mark, I'll give it a go  :)

Yeah it's Moomintroll's friend Snufkin. I always thought he was kinda cool, the way he just packed up his 'shit'  ;) & left town. I still love the Moonmin books & the original 'fuzzy-felt' animated series. I always take a Tove Jansson novel on holiday with me, not sure why...

I know it's the isn't the right thread but I need to hear about your recent travels!

One movie I'd seen before (Blue In The Face) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112541/ & one I hadn't (Citizen Ruth) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115906/

Paradise Hawaiian Style - nothing better than an Elvis movie on a Sunday afternoon!

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.  IMO the best of the films, with a great climax.  My niece and nephew (12 and 9 respectively) thought it was the best thing they'd ever seen.

High Fidelity--good book OK movie (great soundtrack).

Over The Hedge--the funniest animated movie in recent memory.  I Love Steve Carel as Hammie the hyper squirrel.  2 thumbs way up for this one!
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

QuoteTwenty Four Seven - can't wait for This Is England & so decided to watch all of my Shane Meadows movies again starting with this one. Enjoyed it more 2nd time round.
A Room For Romeo Brass - my 2nd Shane Meadows film this month.
No matter how many times I watch this movie it never fails to impress. Like it says on the box 'you won't know whether to laugh or cry' Paddy Considine is simply brilliant.

Wes Anderson is quality. Didn't know he had a new one coming, thanks for the heads up.

That looks really great.  I think The Life Aquatic was Wes' weakest effort, but I still really enjoyed it.  Bottle Rocket, Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums are all fantastic.  As with the soundtracks - anyone know the song (or two) played in that Darjeeling trailer?

Willard1979

I just discovered Winter Passing.  I really enjoyed it!  I also liked the soundtrack!  That version of Old September Blues is freakin amazing!!  It's perhaps THE best version, period.  At least that's my humble opinion.  When Jim hits those high notes, it gets the chills goin.  Great stuff!  ;D

This thread just became un-stickied.  Eerie... :o
