QuoteSuperbad. I thought it was equally as funny as Knocked Up. Michael Cera kept me cracking up throughout. I sure do miss him on Arrested Development.

I read on IMDB that they wrote that movie when they were 13!  That's pretty cool.  Haven't seen it yet, but I plan to.

I watched Tom Dowd: The Language of Music.

A very interesting documentary of an unsung, underrated music producer.  He developed many of the modern sound engineering techniques from recording with more than one mic to building the first 8 tracks machines.  He also produced almost every big name on atlantic records from ray charles to the allman brothers. definitely recommended!

I just got this in the post, my most anticipated movie of the year (along with Hot Fuzz)

Purely by coincidence, my wife is at her parents tonight & I have the house to myself!  :D
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this, but as you say it's probably not wife-friendly.  She's away for the weekend at the end of the month, though  ;)
The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side

Actually it didn't have much to do with being wife-friendly, I wanted to be able to watch it without the missus coming downstairs every 5mins to tell me how much she loves me  ::)

I don't mind that so much when I'm watching Auf Wiedersehen Pet but a Shane Meadow's flick?!! C'mon!

Have you seen A Room For Romeo Brass/Dead Man's Shoe's Mark?

This Is England - I ended up watching this 2 nights in a row. Funny, sad, frightening, powerful, nostalgic & very moving, this is an excellent, excellent movie.

I Am Trying To Break Your Heart - slightly uncomfortable viewing at times (Jeff/Jay) but had some excellent live performances. Makes me realise that I still need more Wilco, which is a good thing.

Anybody else see this?

Anyone seen any of these before?: http://www.amazon.ca/The-Up-Series/dp/B0002S64SC/ref=sr_1_2/701-2059632-1200311?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1189485067&sr=8-2

Every 7 years they gather the same people from 7 Up! and interview them.  Probably the best documentary (ies) I've ever seen.  And I've only seen 3 of them.  Wish the boxset wasn't so expensive.

I really need to see this.  I was a proto-skin on a mid-80s estate in England.  Everything I've seen about it brings back memories of my early teens.

Up until now, my favourite film about the time was Made in Britain, a really early Tim Roth film for TV in the UK.  He steals the show as a violent, racist skin.

I've not seen anything else by Shane Meadows, db, but I'll put them on the list fo' sho'.

I saw that & The Firm just recently, good movies although both a little dated now & clearly made for TV.
This Is England shows that there was more than one side to Skinhead culture, that not all Skinheads were Neo-Nazis.

Shane Meadows has become my fav director http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0276349/
This Is England is excellent, as in Dead Man's Shoes http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0419677/ & A Room For Romeo Brass http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0202559/.
24/7 is good, Once Upon A Time In The Midlands is the only one of his movies that I wouldn't recommend.

The music is his films is always spot on too.

I watched The Queen yesterday. Excellent film!

Sleazy Rider

Closure starring Gillian Anderson and Danny Dyer. Great revenge flick. I think it was released under the title Straightheads in the UK, I believe that is what Bizarre said. Anyways I know there are a few Anderson fans on here, do yourself a favor and check this movie out. She is the hottest that she's ever been.

Politics. It's a drag. They put one foot in the grave, and the other on The Flag.
