Sleazy Rider

It comes out on tuesday but if you know your movie guy well they get them on the thursday before release and they will let you rent them. Here is the link for IMDB's X-Files sequel page.

Politics. It's a drag. They put one foot in the grave, and the other on The Flag.

Watched "300"  last night excellent cinematography and very cool story from history (slightly dressed up courtesy of Hollywood of course).

Friday night I watched the coolest movie I have seen in a long time--"The Fountain".  Aronofsky continues to out do himself.  If ya dig him and haven't seen it--do so!
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

Control

A movie by Anton Corbijn about Joy Division/Ian Curtis. Despite some flaws (they should have used the real music and not let the actors sing and play), still pretty powerful. Sam Riley is excellent, and it made me pick up the JD cd's again. What a band!

Looking forward to The Bourne Ultimatum now.

David Lynch's Inland Empire.

The acting was great (especially Laura Dern)  however if you know David Lynch you know his storylines are a bit odd.

Anyone else see this one yet?

I have not seen any Lynch movies, where should i begin? After reading up on him, his movies were hit or miss in terms of the box office, this might be why i'm not familiar with his work.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

I've only seen Blue Velvet and I can't recommend it enough.  So good.

The Straight Story is one of my fav movies but it's very different to the rest of his films.
I like Wild At Heart & Mulholland Dr (what a head trip!)
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

I really think you should start off with Eraserhead, you won't see anything more bizarre.  Then of course the Twin Peaks tv shows, then the Twin Peaks movie and then all the ones recommended above.

He also did Dune back in the 80's.  It blew me away the first time I saw it, but then again I was 8 years old.

I was JUST going to say I rented Blue Velvet last night!  What a trip that movie is...saw it for the first time a few years ago in an old cinema down the street that only shows old movies.
It's funny cuz you hear the term "edge of your seat thriller" a LOT nowadays....but man...during Blue Velvet I was on the edge of my seat the ENTIRE time...

High on my reccomendation list too!  ;D  Rented "Hot Fuzz" along with it...anyone see this?

I was disappointed with Hot Fuzz. I found it slow moving and obvious. I'm a Simon Pegg fan and absolutely loved Shaun of the Dead, but Hot Fuzz was disappointing.

Thinking about Rushmore in the Bill Murray thread got me thinking about The Royal Tenenbaums:

Royal: Are you trying to steal my woman?
Henry Sherman: I beg your pardon.
Royal: You heard me, Coltrane.
Henry Sherman: "Coltrane"?
Royal: What?
Henry Sherman: Did you just call me Coltrane?
Royal: No.
Henry Sherman: You didn't?
Royal: No.
Henry Sherman: Okay...

One of the funniest lines ever!  ;D ;D ;D
