Just saw the new Indiana Jones movie... I thought it was pretty good. I didn't expect much, so I found myself pleasantly surprised. Definitely better than Temple of Doom.

Go see it.

I love the Temple of Doom and have heard mixed reviews about the new one.
i kinda think right now is a pretty good time to just sit down and sing people some mother-fuckin songs

Angry Ewok

Yeah, it has its moments that are classic Indy, and then it has very George Lucas'y moments... I keep telling people it's X-files meets National Treasure. In good ways, and in bad ways.

Die Hard 4 - why did I even add this to my rental list? The first movie is a classic, didn't like the 2nd much & didn't even finish watching the 3rd...so why did I add this to my rental list? Serves me right!

It's not all bad though as I'd watch The Dirty Dozen earlier in the day  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

QuoteI just watched The Flaming Lips movie ("Fearless Freaks")  I really like how Wayne is still this "everyman" kind of guy--living in the town he grew up in and all.  Watching Steven talk about his heroin use was a definite downer tho'
I love FF. Yeah, that whole section with the herione was a bit rough. I love watching Wayne just do normal shit around the house like mow, then he's got all this crazy stuff in the the backyard for Xmas On Mars. I just hope we see the finished movie in our lifetime.

if you are in a Flaming Lips mood, check out their concert movie from the OKC Zoo. It's awesome.

I watched Fearless Freaks the other weekend for the first time.  The Drozd heroine section was difficult to take.  And Wayne's sci-fi movie?  Nutsaroo...

Saw the new Indiana Jones this weekend.  It was OK (I agree with Ewok in that it was better than I expected).

Watched a couple of DVDs yesterday:

Apocalypto - loved it.  Sort of Rambo with Mayans.

Lions for Lambs - Redford yawnfest.
The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side

Wow, I'm not the only one. Some of it is historically inaccurate, but make no mistakes - no matter what the revisionists want to push on people about the natives being a peaceful people, the violence seen here is absolutely accurate and there is scientific proof to back that up.

What I love the most about the movie is that in the end, you can rest assured that the empires that put those smaller confederations through the torturous hell would suffer the same fate with the landing of the Spaniards.

Disturbia - like a lot of the reviews said, Rear Window lite. I have to confess that I quite like Shia LaBeouf. David Morse was wasted though...

I basically a slacker version of Rear Window, devoid of any new ideas. I liked Morse even if it was a one-dimensional role. Not a waste of time for those not weaned on Hitchcock.

Holy shit, that dude at the beggining!

dragonboy

Yeah it could def be argued that that dude may have taken things a little too far  ;)
He probably could have broken out of those hand-cuffs no problem if he'd wanted to.

& when that chick says "I mean, I want to stay feminine."  :o

...as her adams apple bobbed up and down. That part was classic. Wow, that's the new feminine look eh? I'll stick with the classics. Breasts and a woman without a penis.

dragonboy

Escape To Victory - nonsense on the football pitch or Rocky:0 - Stallone Vs The Germans  ;)
Lots of fun, whichever way you look at it...

The Savages; the got-to-put-one-of-my-parents-in-a-nursing-home-feel-good-movie-of-the-year. Stars Laura Linney and Philip Seymour Hoffman,  so, of course, I liked it.

Jaimoe

Slither - a fun intentional B-horror film from 2006 starring Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Buffy, Waitress) and Michael Rooker. Lots of fun and surprisingly genre-respectful.

I'm going to see "The Strangers" tonight.  It looks very, very suspenseful.  Anyone heard anything?

Heard that it was supposedly based on a true story. So far those who watched it on Yahoo! movies review it as a B+.

We did see Liv Taylor and Scott Speedman promote the movie last year in San Diego and showed some clips... I'd most likely see it, I'd search to see what the critics think.

Nicolas Cage is so unbelievably bad in this one it becomes a joy to watch.

Especially that scene where his face gets all contorted like he's straining to take a really big shit.  Oh wait a minute, he makes that face in EVERY one of his movies.   :P

He's good in Raising Arizona, Adaptation, and Wild At Heart. Other than that, I haven't seen many movies he's in.
Leaving Las Vegas is excellent.

Cage sucks!   ;D

Liked him in Matchstick Men with Sam Rockwell... it also helps that it was directed by Ridley Scott (Alien,Blade Runner,Gladiator)

We've been wanting to see this one for awhile but need to be in a mood for it.
