QuoteFirefly and Serenity are perfect.  I've not ventured into any other Joss Whedon territory.  Yet...

Firefly still ranks 3rd on my list of Wheadon ventures, behind Buffy and Angel. However, I like them all almost equally. Firefly would have been ranked higher if FOX would have treated the show with respect and let Joss finish at least one full season.

Oh yeah, look for Wheadon's new series in the fall called Dollhouse, starring Buffy/Angel co-star Eliza Dushku (Faith).

QuoteJoss Wheadon is a genius.
There is a shelf in our DVD collection devoted just to him.
My sister (who bought Firefly for me) is a huge Joss Whedon/Buffy/Firefly fan.
Is Buffy really as good as everyone says it is? I've not seen a single episode...I did see the movie with Luke Perry though  ;)
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

It'll take you a number of episodes for you to get into Buffy since the firs season is a little dated, but once you do, man, what a series. Angel is almost as good, but it's more consistent in the early seasons. BTW, Firefly's Nathan Fillion, Adam Baldwin and Gina Torres are all on Buffy and Angel - Baldwin is on Angel - and the other two have good recurring roles on Buffy.

BTW, the movie isn't really related to the series.

Pretty much what Jaimoe said. The first season has some good moments but starts out slow, but it kicks into high gear in Season 2. It's funny, heartwarming, tear jerking and ass kicking all at the same time.

Although I gotta say that the head vampire called The Master in Season I makes for a scary and convincing villain. I think he even scared Spike.

touche. The Mayor was still the best though.

Quotetouche. The Mayor was still the best though.

The Mayor was a great character. I also liked the first shool principal played by Armin Shimerman (aka Quark from DS9).

Holy hell there's no Buffy thread is there? For the past 3 years I've watched the series in it's entirety at least once a year. I believe it's BY FAR the best television show ever, maybe because it's more like a seven season movie.  Joss= Genius

Oh and staying true to topic: I just watched TRON

Lars and the Real Girl.

One of my favorite movies I've ever watched.  I spent most of the film either crying or laughing.  This movie has so much heart.  Amazing performances.

Yes but you've failed to add to the all important 'does Ryan with a 'stache look like Jim?' debate!

QuoteI Want Someone To Eat Cheese With - very sweet/slight/funny little film directed by & starring CYE's Jeff Garlin. Now I want to see Marty...
Watched Marty last night. Anyone who sees Someone To Eat Cheese With will want to watch this great little movie made in 1954 starring Ernest Borgnine as a single butcher living with his Mum in NY:

A sequel to Point Break?!!

"The new film will take place 20 years after the disappearance of one of the criminal surfers (Patrick Swayze).
Both the original and sequel are written by W. Peter Iliff. Plot details and possible character reprises have not been disclosed, but the film will shoot in Singapore and Southeast Asia."

Holy Crap Meg! The kids will love that.

Damn DB. I love Point Break. Whenever it is on, I HAVE to watch. That movie made me want to have a love affair with Lori Petty.

My college roomate fancied himself a surfer.  We spent many an hour watching reruns of Blossum (we had no cable...or food) and Point Break on a loop.  That movie has a place in my heart (and so does Blossum's friend Six).

Isn't Mr Swayze battling pancreatic cancer?
I'm not saying it's easy...walking into sweet oblivion.
