Heeeeaaaavvvvvyyyyy!  Upping the production for sure it sounds.
Very exciting!  What a tease that video was!  But you can stream Mountain Jam tomorrow and see what new stuff they bust out then.  Can't wait!!
Kind of a Love Reign O'er Me vibe no?  Such a different power in what I assume is (not) John's voice.

that new clip was a tease! such a good sound though.

Fuck, that was an effective tease. I want more.

Been listening to Divine Providence a decent amount lately. Its not bad, I think its more just disappointing compared to their first couple albums. Miss Kay will probably stick, but with these guys, who knows. I certainly wouldnt complain if I heard Funny Word, Lets all Go To The Bar, or Main St as filler at a show, and most of the other guitarists songs I like, but I guess most think if its not McCauley its sh...

How did I miss this?!?

Deer Tick at the Flying Dog Brewery a half hour west of me.  Good music and good IPAs.  This is a no-brainer.  Anyone else going?

I'm not going now and had to sell my Tix.  I'm sure after last weekend GO4IT can use a break from my mug.

Hey it was great hanging out at the shows last weekend, Ruckus!  And I think I saw more of your backside than your mug, anyway

They put on a typically great show last night.  The venue was a little bar that is clearly not meant to have live music so the sound was pretty muddled.  It didnt matter though, the place was packed and rocking.  They played probably 5 new songs, a Warren Zevon cover (Play It All Night Long, so fucking rad), and ended the show with All Apologies which was a nice little Deervana surprise.  John brought out Vanessa Carlton, who he's apparently dating (?), to duet with him during one of the new songs.  I really love this band, cant wait for Negativity to come out and for some more shows to be announced!

Great Show last evening at the  Flying Dog Brewery. They came on about 7:15 and went til just after 9.  Beer was great as well.

Couple of pix and the setlist below.  This was the setlist for the main show.  They played a 3 or 4 song encore in addition to that list.

Just got something from the Strand in York PA saying these guys are playing there on Sep 17th.  Little bit of a drive, but might be doable, even on a school night if work is going well.

Check that, I see they are playing Ottobar the following night, so that'll be the one I go to instead as its much closer.  Of course I also see that they are playing a local festival in Bristol TN near where I grew up that weekend so I may make a trip back home for that one as I like doing things like that when they come up.   :drum:

Angel of Whoa

Deer tick recently recorded the album "negativity" in portland! Jimmy russell of "the quick and easy boys" played guitar on a track of deer ticks latest album. The quick and easy boys have played with deer tick, j-roddy, and most recently Hollis brown! They have just released a new album "make it easy", the latest video released for that "hey hey hey" was just debuted on the Huffington post. Really great high energy rock n roll! Definitely worth checking out! Rock n roll straight out of Portland! Yeah bud!

We'll see you guys there, really excited about the record as well, even if I didn't care for the music video for the Rock, which i think is a great song.

The weather was megashit. I tried wearing a rain coat and boots but after a while I just had to accept defeat. Thank god Futurebirds played inside later that night. The deer tick set was awesome. One of the guys I was with had never seen them and I could tell he enjoyed it. I did not expect Vanessa to come out on stage, that was neat. I think John was having fun. He was in top badass form... opening beers with his teeth, spraying a beer or two.. the usual fun deer tick stuff. They played a couple of songs from the new record and they seemed to fit in really well the set as a whole so I'm excited for this new one to come out.

I see they have added more dates including Philly to the tour as well as putting up the vinyl in limited edition sky blue for presale.

Can't wait to catch these guys as I really enjoyed them at PC1.
