Here's a good wookie definition: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=wookie

I think we can credit ALady with coining the term "lazer wookie," though it was Ruckus who brought the lazer.

The only thing stopping me from buying my early bird ticket is Roo's line up. I don't wanna deal with Bonnaroo's heat and crowds and all that shit, but I would for another epic 4 hour late night set. Bonnaroo is the following weekend so finacially I won't be able to swing both.Well see I guess.

I can recall that back in 08, even though MMJ was announced early, it was much later that the announcement was amended to be a late night show  Dont know that this will happen again though.

I'm not saying MMJ headlining would be less-than-awesome, but I think we can all agree they deserve late night because that's where the real action is - nothing like an open-ended set

I think of lazer wooks as a subset of the wookie culture, the ones that are more into the jamtronica (*shudder*) scene.

Yeah that's what I'm sayin... Bonnaroo will be very last minute for me if I go, because the schedule won't be released until like May.

Hmmm, I have some friends who went to this festival twice, did the VIP option the second year and found it so awful that they will never return.

Curious about this, NoVa - what happened?

Well, they got to the town, got the rental car and proceeded to the event.  They were stopped for maybe 3 or 4 hours on the highway while every car was thoroughly searched by the cops.  Once they got in, the VIP experience was a let down.  Food was bad when it was available, location of the VIP tent area was not good, water was not provided as was advertised, etc., etc.  I think they even complained about the viewing area.  In short, nothing went well.

This was maybe 4 years ago, so things may have changed.  Actually, the situation with the cops probably got worked out.  Or did this event move to a new location a few years ago?  Anyhoo, they just had a really bad time and vowed to never go back. :)

i've heard this is a great festival but this is the one there were the lawsuits with years back, i tried to google to find exactly, they set up unlawful search stops, etc--i think since then, it's been okay..

ABSOLUTELY things have changed.  It has been really laid back since it moved to Arkansas.  People have a great time in the middle of the woods.  Honestly, a while back I wanted to throw a festival there and call it "Into The Woods."  You will have a great time if you go.  The site is beautiful.

This is what I LOVE to read. I was honestly looking at festivals based on environment, over line ups. Waka has been at the top of my list the whole time, as well as summer camp. MMJ was just a sign that I need to go.

You should definitely go!!

It gets hot during the day like any summer festival, but night time is the right time and this place looks amazing AT DAWN... no pun intended.  Seriously, you gotta see the sunrise after an awesome night in the Ozarks.  It's pure magic.

And seriously.  Last year there were actual BEAR sightings at Waka.  This place is just perfect for the Jacket.

whether or not if you like electronic music you whom are going must get f'd up, perhaps even roll and go see these does:
http://www.wakarusa.com/2011/lineup.asp?a=814&y=2011

they're german as fuck but do some amazing shit with their beats.  thom yorke and tons of other world artists have been working with them a lot over the last couple years.  "Hello Mom" would be a good album to get a taste of them.  never seen them live but that seems like a rare opportunity for such a hype scenario.  their beats are faaaaattttt.

I rather enjoy rolling and watching electronic music. Can't stand the shit not live though.

Did Wakarusa tickets sell out last year or in past years?

This may be a noob question, but I can't find a straight answer anywheres. I'm gettin' those pre-summer festival spring-time itches, and I don't wanna miss this one bc I waited too long for tickets! mil gracias
