Just bought my plain tickets!    :)

Also just found out that there is a bluegrass/beer fest in Keystone where I'm staying on the following Saturday.   Since I can't join the Chrispy Cabin  :'( maybe I can talk peeps into this fest on Saturday?   Probably too far of a drive for a beer fest....

I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Can one of you crafty people make a t-shirt with some sort of beautiful sunset image with the boys silhouettes against it? They're playing in such awesome locations this year it's the JacketFestWest: Beautiful Scenery Tour.

I'm down for hiking, brewery, frisbee, whatever.

Some minor changes to the one I made for outside lands and it looks like this:

Dunno if it's anything like what you had in mind, but it was such a quick fix so I thought I'd give it a shoot! :) At first I had some trees in there as well, if you'd like some trees ;)

Uhm, it's like you got inside my head!! I love this! It's now my background. SBB you're fantastic.

You won't be by yourself for long! We'll have a big tailgate going Thursday, and we've got a small crowd going to the show the night before too.

Count me and my bro in for the camping cabin campout the night after the show!!

SBB beautiful pic!! It reminds me slightly of:

And the parallels of MMJ and the Dead make my heart smile  :)

I've been somewhat subconsciously 'looking away' from this beautiful thread, as I hadn't found steady work the past couple of weeks, and I knew my heart might ache to follow such a great experience in uncertainty!

Well, I'm still not quite certain, but!!  At least with the new job startin' next week, August 4 is looking a bit brighter!  I left Pitt last year on August 8 for the cross-country trip to Cali, and, well gosh darnit seeing them at Red Rocks is certainly on the bucket list!  Time to get my travelin' gears crankin' again, Major Scheme Mode commence!!!!!!!

Great stuff guys! Keep that date open, woody, and keep on schemin'!

Hey pinebarren, you're welcome to camp out at the cabin -- keep in mind that it's about an hours' drive up into the foothills from Red Rocks. It's a drive I've made after many shows and not too bad, but you gotta be awake. ;)

Thank you! I even had a few trees in there in my first draft... maybe I should have kept them too... Anywho, best of luck with the Major Schemes!  :)

Dave, I know my boyfriend really wanted to do the bluegrass/beer fest but with all the other Jacketivities going on I'm not sure what we'll be up to that weekend. I will keep you in mind so we can go together if that's what we decide! Excited to see you!!  :bath:
Because we're all in this together...

BH

No problem!  I know there will be plenty of great things to do in a short amount of time.   Good to hear from you.  You've been pretty scarce around these parts lately!

Hard to tailgate if you are in line for a GA show. The line becomes the party! Two years ago I was shocked at how few people were in line in the afternoon. And we got drenched in one hell of a rainstorm too!

ALady

That is worth noting...it's rained every time I've been at Red Rocks.  Sometimes a brief cloudburst, sometimes torrential downpour...but you know, be prepared and you'll be fine

Last year when I headed to Red Rocks, it was a pretty significant time... I was going to see Primus on August 12 (a.k.a. the first birthday that my pap was unable to celebrate with us....)  And he'd actually passed away while I was backpacking in Yosemite the previous December (had seen the most intense meteor shower that night that I've ever seen in my life) And boy were the clouds brewing up something funky at Red Rocks on his b-day. The lightning in the distance was majorly threatening.  And don't you know, after sitting in my car letting about 30-40 mins of gentle rain sweep over, the storm kept its distance, but created this extraordinary two-and-1/2 rainbow system! (a double rainbow.5!)

It's kind of hard to see in these smaller pics, but the top rainbow is one solid beam, and the bow on the bottom actually has two layers to it (note the darker section in the middle where they meet) I like to think it's my Pap just shinin' on down!  :)

So anyhow, I hope to make this momentous show if it's at all feasible!!!
