De1euze!

been loving the new MMJ, Wilco, Fucked Up...I urge anyone just getting into Fucked Up now to look into their first LP Hidden World and the singles they released before that. Easily the best punk band of the new millenium, and Hidden World is a masterpiece

other records on my list:
tune yards - WHOKILL
True Widow - as high as the highest heavens and from the center to the circumference of the earth
The Music Tapes - Purim's Shadows EP
The Men - Leave Home (again for any punk fans on here.....this is THE best punk record of 2011, hands down)
Iceage - New Brigade
Jeff the Brotherhood - We Are The Champions
Cold Cave - Cherish the Light Years
End of a Year Self Defense Family - both singles they've put out this year
Bomb the Music Industry! - Vacation

i'm sure there's more I'm forgetting

ALady

if it falls apart or makes us millionaires

ChiefOKONO

I'm really digging the new jayhawks lately!!

Ghosts_on_TV

I've been meaning to check that iceage album out.
Some girls mothers are bigger than others girls mothers...

ALady

It's pretty badass.  If you like it, check out The Men immediately.

Mastodon - The Hunter

M83-Hurry up, We're Dreaming is pretty much tied with Bon Iver for my AOTY.

I second this, also Real Estate's "Days" is probably going to work its way into my top 5, I love it so far.
Sometimes when I get in my zone, you'd think I was stoned, but I never as they say, touched the stuf

2011 has really been a year of new music to me, mostly thankfully to this board. There have been countless records that I've discovered that aren't from 2011 based on your recomendations. As far as 2011 goes right now:

1. Middle Bro
2. Wilco
3. Circuital
4. Iron and Wine
5. Deer Tick

When 2011 started, MMj was the only band on this list I was listening to. Lucero and Black Keys both have albums due out this year, so this could change. 2012 will kick off with a new Dr. Dog album. Releases have been too good this year.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

YEP!!!! the new M83 album is amazing.
There's Still Time.........

White Denim - D (2011)

if you like psychedelic indie rock you have to check these guys out. just heard about them this week.

Northern Neighbour

The White Demin album is terrific.

I really, really like the debut album of The War on Drugs (self-titled).  Some songs have a Dylan-esque quality from the writing to the drawl.

M83's new one is really dense.  There are some great tracks, and some that take a bit of time to appreciate.

Delta Spirit will have a new album in 2012... and judging by your love of Middle Bro and Deer Tick, you should check them out if you haven't already.
The wind blew me back, via Chicago, in the middle of the night.

If you get the chance, see them live.  Excellent.
The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side

I'm digging Wu Lyf right now.

It's kind of like if Adam Sandler's character on Billy Madison got angry drunk and started a rock band.
