Wooooo, ralph! Awesome!  :D
"...it's gonna be great -- I mean me coming back with the band and playing all those hits again"

First post was going to contain the setlist but was beaten to that already:)
EPIC night. Highlights for me were IB4U, Way He Sings, Lay Low, Dondante, Black Metal. Not really a fan of Black Metal on disc, but tonight it was amazing. Ears are destroyed but the pain was worth it.
Disappointed they didn't get to Slow or Phone, but I think they would have been kicked off the stage by the venue. Was approaching midnight when they finished up.

Northern Neighbour

The Mrs. and I had the terrific opportunity to attend the show with Ralph and 3 friends of ours.  We all had a great time.  The show was terrific with the band playing for more than 2.5 hours.  Only Jacket could play for 21 songs in 150 minutes.   Part of the reason is that they had a couple new tidbits and jams that we had not heard before, namely:

- A "middle twiddle" by Jimmy in the middle of "Golden".
- A mesmerizing, "Cure-esque" jam to open Dondante, which clocked in at around 17-18 minutes.

"Gideon", "I'm Amazed", "and "Honest Man" also had extended jams / endings.

The crowd tonight was very good. A lot of people were there witnessing their first Jacket show, although there were a few older people wearing really old Jacket shirts.  It was cool to see.

We've had a great time in Sydney.  Now time to get about 2.5 hours of sleep before we have to leave for the airport.

I'll try to post some pictures later, although may have to wait until we get home.  Oh, we unfortunately didn't meet Weenie, but hopefully will in Byron Bay.

It sounds like a great show! Have a great trip! 8)

Northern Neighbour- I wanna meet you guys too. I'm always (if I can help it) standing stage Carl and I always have a camera. Ralph- I pm'd you. Sorry I couldn't meet up.

The show was amazing. I can't believe they played Honest Man and I Will Sing You Songs.
The jam in Dondante was so awesome aswell!! I will have pics up in about a week.
How loud can silence get?

Awesome set.   Congrats everyone!
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

mahg33ta

that is a great list.  Man I'm jonesing for some live MMJ.

The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

MamaKel

Wow. That set list makes me feel warm inside. That is pretty fucking close to perfection...I'm going to play around with it in my head right meow. :bath:

oistheone

I gotta concur with the others going thru live MMJ withdrawal. For some reason seeing IWSYS on the setlist just made me start fiendin' like crazy. This summer cannot come soon enough!

ralph

Wow! What a show... It was a fucking assault and I can't believe I'm backing up to be beaten again tonight! But in a good way...

Loved loved loved the opening 1-2 of Victory Dance and Curcuital. First time seeing those live. When Jim came out with the sampler thingy around his neck, his long jacket and with his big triangle of hair he kind of looked like a hairy Darth Vader! We were right under Jim on the rail which was a pretty great spot to have. Great view of watching his guitar noodlings throughout the gig.

I think Honest Man and I Will Sing were the two Big suprises of the night but the whole setlist just flowed so well. From Lay Low through to Gideon was just insane. It just felt like it kept going up a gear with each song. No Tennessee Fire last night, but every other record represented pretty well.

Great to hang out with the northern neighbours for the day, you guys are awesome! Carol even gave me the setlist handed to her which is above and beyond. Thanks guys, really hope our paths cross again! Enjoy Byron Bay...

Cant wait for tonight! Here's hoping for Steam Engine.
At my house, we call them uh-ohs.

What he said. ;)
"Where's Jim going?"

ralph

Should also add that Dawes were great too.

Oh and Pooch and Denise don't seemed to have made the trip so the stage seemed a bit empty...!

Great to hear you and Carol had prime position for a great show.  Sounds like it was well worth the trip.  Looking forward to hearing stories at Newport.  Have a safe return journey.

Did someone just say "his big triangle full of hair"? That's amazing.

Can someone suggest a decent file sharing location...I have Lay Low (190mb) and One Big Holiday (334mb) videos from last night.

I can't believe I had to ask that question...talk about brain freeze :'(
I was planning on using work bandwidth to do the upload but that will have to wait a few hours until I get home. Will post to Youtube as well. That's if my brain starts to function!
