Whoever I let em go to, they'll have to be able to meet at the box office before the doors. I plan on lining up at 3ish with some others that I've been talking to from this here forum. Face value is 129$.

At this point if the plan sounds okay to you, you can PM me and I guess first response gets em.

3pm eh? what time is the show supposed to start?

e-wind: I would just take advice from ericm and others who have actually stayed in Jersey and travelled into the city from there.  It wouldn't hurt to pice out some hotels in Queens or Long Island City but it sounds like NJ might be a few bucks cheaper.

Sidenote: Besides some completely ignorant comments this thread makes me happy.  :)

I assumed doors at 6 or so. At Red Rocks we all lined up a little before 1 I think. I know the atmosphere is probably a little different between august in Colorado and December in NYC, though  :)

Would have loved to make this show but flying stand-by to NYC right before the Holidays is just too much trouble :P.  Hope you all have a great time there .

Glad they decided to play in a small place near by in Boca.
Only 3000 people + it should be a beautiful evening outside  :D.

Hey Joe I was wondering if you'd be making it to NYC!  I agree with you the Boca show will be sweet outside in Dec.  Any other year I'd be trying to get there as my brother has a house nearby.. but unfortunately  I'm skipping all these shows cuz I'll be a little busy - my wife & I have a baby due in Nov!  Have a great show
Wow!  Congrats, Matt and Matt's wife!  Sorry we won't see you at MMJ/MSG/NYC.
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

thanks to the always quick responses from roll call admin, I now know that I have two extras. Im holding on hope that two of my friends will just end up coming with us, but I'd say the chances of that are 0.000001%.

Northern Jersey is just  a disgusting, smelly swamp. I know, I work there. Every soul-sucking day. The NJ Transit train (which you would take to Manhattan) is expensive and always running late. All that is there is a bunch of warehouses and tractor-trailers.

Damn man, what's with the all the Jersey hate? Did you get stood up for the prom by one of our beautiful Jersey Girls?  ;)

Seriously, the Meadowlands Sheraton is a nice hotel that many teams and others stay at. The whole Giants football team stayed there for the preseason. It's a damn fine alternative to staying in the city. No one is planning on hanging there all day,or walking around on Rte. 3, just a nice, safe, clean, place to crash with easy access to NYC.

As far as N.J. Transit being expensive... if you think $4.00 each way from Seacaucus Jct. is expensive, I don't know what to tell you, except don't buy a bottle of water in MSG.  :o

I've taken them many times, and barring some type of storm, the latest a train has been is 6 - 8 minutes. Besides that, there's at least 5 - 6 trains an hour passing through Secaucus Jct. heading to Penn Station NYC, and it's only a 9 - 10 minute ride.

obviously I have no experience, but based on expedia.com and the advice of eric, NJ is where I'm probably gonna stay. 50$ cheaper a night for a NICE hotel. Not to mention I can get to MSG in 20 minutes for 4$. Sounds like a no brainer to me. Like eric said, I'm not gonna be hanging out around the hotel, I'm gonna be sleeping... hopefully bed bug free. That NYC pandemic or whatever of bed bugs is freaking me out, by the way guys. Another reason I chose to stay in jersey.

Shit in Chicago I payed 200$ a night to stay in a nice hotel in the city for NYE last year and the subway ride to the venue for the black keys was like 30 minutes easily.

I'm just sitting here realizing how much cool shit I got to do this year, all based on MMJ in some way.

I got to go to the beach, Hangout. I got to go to the most fun festival ever, Wakarusa. I got to visit my sister and nieces in Tuscaloosa. I got to go to the MOUNTAINS and visit a dear friend in Colorado and experience RED ROCKS. I got to go to Chicago, which is a city I absolutely love.

And to finish it off, I get to go to NYC, and I've never been there. This band is giving me far more than they know.

Hey lil sis i hope you weren't talking about my ignorant comment that i made to Eric/e_wind about NYC?  It was only meant as info and not to rip on e_wind.

Stevie

okay.. so i found some West GAs on Stub Hub for $91 and bit the bullet.  The next cheapest West GAs were about $140.

prices seem to be going down, in general, though.

Honest Man

northern nj is a smelly swamp? Are there water moccasins and alligators too?
The fact that my hearts beating, is all the proof you need.

still waiting on the dress up theme...new years '08 was awesome.  want this show to go big like that

e_wind

All the "cool" people are staying at Sheraton Meadowlands in NJ. 110$ a night including fees, free parking, and just 4.00$ and a short train ride to MSG. Anyone else looking for a hotel should book this, and PM me if you do so we can party!

Also, friends, I'll be staying in NYC until Saturday, so any locals that want to grab a drink with my lady and I let me know!

Also, anything particular we should do? She's really wanting to see a musical but I've seen Lion King and have no desire to see 'Wicked'. I Wish I could afford tickets to The Book Of Mormon... The Mormon episode of Sputh Park is my favorite episode of any comedy show ever.

I'm excited if you all can't tell, I keep forgetting I'm going to Nashville to see em in a few weeks. Back to the city of my first show, where it all began...

e wind, upgrade your stay if you're thinking Lion King or Book of Mormon...those will cost you serious $$$, nice hotel in NYC will be worth the $$$, you will not want to go back to NJ after that show...trust me

Lots of hotels in NYC that won't gouge you...might be farther from the venue, but worth it

You can say at the Warwick or Fitzpatrick for pretty reasonable $$$, $$$ well spent

No not you.  It was directed toward edierevolution's idiotic comment.  I just can't stand ignorant comments like that.

Warwick and Fitzpatrick are both almost 400$ a night....

I'm pretty set on saving $ where I can, but it doesn't hurt to look.. Any specific areas you would suggest looking?
