I guess its time to update. I quit teaching elementary to become a full time brewer.

I didn't know we had a brewer in our midst! Did you start your own or working for a local place or what?

I work for Bluegrass Brewing Company out of Louisville.  We are Kentucky's largest microbrewery.  We have four locations in Louisville adding a fifth next year and distribute to five states.  Locally owned for 17 years.

I've been there almost a year which is longer than anyone else there because our former brewers started there own place in town.  Right now I'm an assistant brewer.  We have a new boss coming in from dogfishhead next week and I'm hoping he'll take to me and let me climb the ladder a bit more.

Long version: I work for a management/IT consulting firm. My manager and I are on contract with the DoD performing program management (planning, programming, budgeting & execution) for the IT program that allows DoD & VA hospitals across the world to order medical and pharmaceutical supplies and products.

Short version: Money stuff for Uncle Sam.
The wind blew me back, via Chicago, in the middle of the night.

lil sis, good luck ... not an easy environment out there

Fully

high school English teacher. Trying recently to get tenth graders to appreciate the awesome qualities of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. Unfortunately, I am putting several of them to sleep. I enjoy my students, but after twenty-one years of this, I get a little bored sometimes.

Seems to be a number of teachers here, though we lost one to beer, er I mean, brewing.  Most of you know I'm a high school science teacher, with a three year stint as assitant principal.  Mostly 9th grade physical science, though this year I'm back teaching biology to 11th graders and zoology to seniors, a nice return to my first love.  Back to freshmen next year.  Love the job, though I hate it, too.
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Wow, time to update:

Weird but once I graduated law school, I got the hell out of the Legal Dept.

Still a professional concert goer and Dreamer.

Land development...sounds a bit evil but it has led me into the wonderful world of sustainability.  Also, I get to be very involved in one of my true loves, architecture.  If I could start over, I'd like to be a human rights attorney.
