SWEET JESUS!   :o this show was a barn burner end to end!

quote of the night, as the band began playing dondante rizzo's girl leaned over and said, "i think they're trying to kill me."

so many crazy surprises in the set list!  when they started the intro to cobra i hollered.  then hollered more. and hollered again between throwing down quality dance moves.

You rocked. Good energy coming from our section.

I was feeling it too ... though my rocking out tends to look more like I'm approaching status epilepticus than any throwing down of quality dance moves.

I must have met some of you other folks down there too. Good to meet y'all!

Okay!

1. Dill- can you warn me before you post something that hot?
2. You know where that poncho would look REALLY good?
3. um....must take cold shower...ready to pounce at 5 min mark, how did you rail birds control yourself?

but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

Too bad there were some Chatty Kathies by you!  Wow...that put me right back there and I thoroughly enjoyed it.  That was some crazy shit!  I see myself going a little ill at a couple points in there.

Some guy, who appeared out of nowhere, kept pushing me and elbowing me during Cobra.  He told me I was "the most annoying person in the entire place" b/c I was dancing so hard.  Clearly he had never seen a Cobra before (and neither had I!!)  I believe I turned around and said "If you touch me one more time during the Cobra I will punch you in the effin face!"  He must have been scared of me b/c he left  :)  I'm a lover not a fighter...but don't mess with me when I'm in the zone!!!

I was on the rail - (first time!) - and that all went on right in front of me.   :dankk2:

I was one off the rail in front of Poochie...and this is exactly why my husband and my brother don't feel the need to be right there with me...LOL!  They hang for a bit but not for all.  They let me have my moments with Jim when they go back to chat with our posse.  Buh-bye!!!

:dankk2: for sure!!!

Notes. Want them. Now.

As great as this night is here, I would still have rather been there.

I just can't believe I got to hear If All Else Fails, IWSYS, Heartbreakin Man and Cobra.

I think they're going to be breaking out different gems every night and then play just about everything at MSG.

I also have about 30 seconds of At Dawn.

At Dawn:

And about 30 seconds of the back of my head!   ;D

I feel like that kid in So I Married An Axe Murderer...it's like an orange on a toothpick...it's like Sputnik!

Could it be, beside your bed?  ;D ;D ;D

I love a sassy Jim shaking his stuff. Obviously knows how to give his female fanbase what they want. :embarassed: I think I would have melted into a big puddle had I been there. Oh, please bring that sass to MSG!

crispy, will comply tomorrow night from the hairport. can't do it now b/c i am drunk and in a hotel room with a friend trying to get some sleep.

but i offer you this:  get ready oklahoma! (begin your limbering exercises and neck rolls now)

the reason i got to see this show is b/c i am in san francisco for a memorial service this weekend.  a friend of mine passed away a few weeks ago.  this weekend is our chance to get together and love him and miss him as a group. he had cancer for 2 years.   tonight my oldest pals from college and i spent time together.  my friend, wife of the friend who died described her push for them to travel the last year of his life.  she asked him, "what are we waiting for?" and i thought, "but exactly."

i mention this b/c that particular line from "smokin" resonated so deeply for me: i made a seismic shift in my life about 8 years ago that amounted to my asking myself that very question.

[i did mention earlier in this post that i'm drunk, right?]

crispy, your cabin and environs were invoked several times during the evening. POWERFUL STUFF!  :coffee: <-- amazing coffee from that place in boulder

We were in the back right by the soundboard. We raged the pit in LA, but chilled in the back in SF. I got to have my dancing room, and just can't do the rail thing at GA shows.  Had a blast though. LA show was great....SF was fanfreakingtastic!

I was apprehensive about the rail thing, too.  Especially in a place like Bill Graham Civic.  However, the crowds at MMJ shows are some of the most polite that I've ever experienced.  There was no raging in this pit, at least where I was.  I had a blast standing right in front of Jim.  My original plan was to sit in the balcony, but when they let us soundcheck partiers in before everybody else, that plan went out the window.

Here is one of the videos I took last night.

I just watched your video of One Big Holiday and it is so great!
MMJ @ Bill Graham Civic 12/2/11 - One Big Holiday
I love when you pan the crowd and everyone is dancing,  and Jim's dance moves and kicks during his guitar solo (starting about 4:05) are just priceless!  ;D

Elizanne33

Thanks jaye! I absolutely love watching the crowd when they play OBH. I had a really good vantage point and it's awesome to see such a great crowd. It's an incredible amount of good energy flowing and makes me really happy to see everyone on the same wavelength like that. Jim's dance moves were pretty cool too!

You were drunk when you wrote that?  ;)

Sounds like you had a very nice remembrance for your friend, and I also identify very well with that seismic shift idea. Glad to hear of the lingering sensations from Colorado, and looking forward to more notes!

I'm going to chime in on that seismic shift as well. Some people tell me I'm having a midlife crisis. I reply that it is an awakening!

I'll ask it here too...Is the signed soundcheck poster the show poster or a differnt one all together?
