Oh boy,  I'm gonna try and make this happen.

Woohoo!

What about the Brown?  Not too far.

Curious about these aftershows on the Belle...

The Brown is really nice, it's like stepping back in time but it's expensive. I think we paid over $ 300 the nite we went down for the KFC holloween show.  I've not stayed at the Galt House before and I couldn't pass up the $ 109 a nite and a chance to be right down in the middle of the action.

Is there a compelling reason to stay Sunday night, other than more time with you all?  I'm guessing many will be heading home and I can avoid another night's hotel stay if I head back to NH Sunday afternoon.  I'd love to be there Friday, but that would be a deal breaker without question.
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Sweet, thanks Tater.  I stayed at the Brown a few years back and don't remember it being that expensive (yikes!) but the Galt definitely seems like the better option for the location, if nothing else.  Will check it out, thanks!   :)

I presume there will be another headliner Sunday.  This is a pretty big festival if they are expecting 35k guests.   I'm going to try and drag my feet on travel until the bands are released.   Would love to know when that would be (last time it was late March, ugh).   I can see myself arriving Friday and leaving Sun or arriving early Sat and leaving Mon am.    Booked all 3 nights under the "cancel later" theory.

I splurged and got a Luxury suite so I could impress my bride,  It worked   I'm sure there are cheaper rates.

everything downtown is going to be close - they have discounted rates at marriott and some other places for less than a hundred/night on festival website under lodging.

i booked at the hyatt it's just a few blocks away from the galt house so not as crazy but close enough to be there in a short walk.

joey_rogo

Shit, I'd love to attend this. Gonna have to wait for more details and such before pulling the trigger tho. Always wanted to see them in their hometown.

Last forecastle (2010) the headliners with WSP, Smashing Pumpkins, and Flaming Lips. The lips closed out Sunday. I wouldn't leave early, personally.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

So there is no outdoor camping? All this hotel talk has got me kinda worried its another one of those lame city fests.

If anyone does cancel their hotel reservation throw a post up or make a thread. Maybe someone on here can use it. Better it go to a Jacket fan than just some random schmuck.

e_wind

Well, it is in downtown Louisville....

On inforoo there is talk of camping, but nothing I've ever heard of
