Gotta love that pic!

It took me all these years to get to Red Rocks, and not only did she get there so young, but she gets in the front couple of rows too!  8)

Man, I'd be bragging about that forever...." yeah, I was at Red Rocks for MMJ".  "I went to my first JackeFestWest that year too!".  ;)
"Where's Jim going?"

Thanks Herm!  I ordered and got my bundle waiting for me! So soundcheck party is anywhere from 9 to 12. What time do other acts start playing during the day?

I read somewhere, no idea where, that they start at 3pm.

Think we should do a Bundle Upgrade Roll Call?

I'm curious to see how many bundles they made available. Any guesses?

Just joined roll call for the first time to get that pit pass and my earlybird day ticket. hoping the pit thing turns out great. 10$ for s/h

To anyone who has been before, how is it with the interstate running right through the park? Not concerned, just curious if you ever found it distracting.

I-64 is at the very back of the park and about 150 ft up in the air.  you dont ever even notice.  the main stage is pretty far away, probably a couple hundred yards.
out go the lights it begins

Will the I-64 bridge be open by then?
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

The bridge opened last week.  Everything is flowing nicely.  (Of course, now they have to do surface repairs on the potholes on the overworked I-65 bridge, but that should be well done by summer.)

Forecastle website today has some Travel packages with hotel, tix, poster, and misc.   Nothing too exciting and it seems like you can construct the pieces more cheaply, as most have us have done.

However, this caught my eye:

•(2) Tickets to the Official Forecastle After Party on the Belle of Louisville on both Saturday AND Sunday

I hadn't seen this mentioned anywhere else yet.   There's no other info about this (will there be bands? what times? what's included? how many people? ) but it seems POSSIBLE that MMJ will be involved, no?

I just sent an email to forecastle asking if those tix will be available for seperate purchase... I'll report back what I learn.

rmpotsy

they will be available at a later date to the general public.  i would seriously doubt mmj will play on the belle, just too small.  in the past, the late night parties were electronic or djs.

Like I've said before, MMJ would be highly unlikely to play on the bell. In a city where they can sell 15,000+ tickets to a single show, it'd be so unfair to play a 500 person show (if that)

Unless we are 2 of the 500  ;)

I don't go to a lot of festivals and i have two questions.

1)  When do the timeslots usually get released?   2 weeks ahead?   4 weeks?  6?

2)  When festival follow up with "more bands to be announced" are they usually smaller bands or a random sample similar to the 50 that are already announced.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

e_wind

It can be a random sample, with a Majority smaller I'd say. In 2010 Forecastle announced Smashing Pumpkins super late as their Saturday night headliner. I'd say it's possible to get a new headliner for Friday or Sunday, but not likely. Maybe some 2nd or 3rd teir bands, though. I would count on getting a couple more bands youre interested in though.

yeah, I'm still holding out hope for Alabama Shakes, J. Roddy, Swearing At Motorists, Dead Confederate and the like.

I believe they had 102 bands in 2010.  There have only been 51 announced so I'd say we still have some good bands coming.
There's Still Time.........

This fest could definately use a sprinkle of Da Bidness!
