Junta Pollock
Herb Alpert's Greatest Hits of Greatest Hits

blunderbuss??? was it an exclusive rsd version?

no no..sorry.  just the black vinyl.  just picked it up with the other stuff.

Dude ganked the Shabazz Palaces from under my nose and the Jeff the Brotherhood went right away.  Just glad (though I wasn't worried about it) that I snagged a Mississippi John Hurt, which I am currently spinning 8)
Jeff the Brotherhood was playing live at Grimey's in Nashville today. Just finished watching them in the cold.

Also got Chris Robinson Brotherhood 7" for my friend. I was gonna get Black Angels too but already had spent enough.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

As far as the Jim James collaboration on Heady Fwiends, why would one go to the trouble of using a voice like Jim and have it be undistinguishable on the track? Seems a perfect waste to me.

I like that red one! The one I got is kind of an ugly mustard yellow but the other one is more of a fluorescent yellow at least. Not a lot of variation between my 2.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

I too got Blunderbuss today! But I think it was just because my local record store isn't very good at all (he didn't have any RSD exclusive which was very disappointing  :-\) and he just put it out 3 days early not knowing any better.

Me also on the early Blunderbuss vinyl.  Wasn't on my radar, but they had it, so WTF?

Link to Patterson Hood performing at Criminal Records. I believe Penny is there somewhere.

Flaming Lips are definitely meant for vinyl. I'll have to go back in the near future and pick up The Soft Bulletin.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Was really trying to find the Jeff the Brotherhood, but everyplace either got none or sold out prior to us getting there.  Still got the 2 Mastodon collaborations so not a total loss.

How does Blunderbuss sound? I'm enjoying the new Dr. John this evening. I just got that and Heady Fwends yesterday.

Ruckus

Blunderbuss sounds real good.

Just out of curiosity, for those that bought or saw the Pollock Junta, how much was it going for.  A buddy got a copy in Chicago for 90 bucks while they were selling for 70 bucks in here Bawlmer

Go hiking in the catskills they said.

We'll be back in time to hit up some record shops they said.

It's only a 3 mile hike they said.

This doesn't feel like Panther Mountain they said, let's keep hiking to that peak over there!

It's not as far away as it looks they said.

I did not make it to any record shops. :-\

So who is this Pollock character anyway? A famous artist.  I'm no art-buff but I'm pretty sure Jackson Pollock died like 50 years ago.
