For those of us going by ourselves and meeting the group there, this is a little irksome. I'll have to see what we are going to do about getting tickets together. Brooke and bluesky, I'll be pm'ing you.

No worries Fully. They'll be Roll Callers all around.

I kinda like the idea of not lining up early for an early entry at the end of December in Boston. More time to warm my bones at a nearby pub.

Actually, I do too. I'll just have to make sure that I buy tickets with someone else so that I'm sure I'm sitting someone I know.

Surely, there will be GA for this. Surely.

Not necessarily. It's a college arena, and there could be some sort of restriction for any number of reasons. For years there were no ga floors in many arenas after people got trampled to death at The Who show in Cincinnatti. There are still some college arenas that don't do ga for security, and liability issues. They are fewer and fewer now, but it wouldn't surprise me if this remains seated.

Well so much for this theory as it appears  Jack White has a ga floor there. Floor 1 and floor 2. It looks similar to MSG's GA West/East last Dec.

Here's the official presser:

QuoteMy Morning Jacket will take the stage of the historic Capital Theater in Port Chester, NY for three consecutive nights in continuation of their Spontaneous Curation Series.  To keep with the spirit of the series, no songs will repeat for each of these performances.  The renowned landmark, built in 1926, once housed acts such as The Grateful Dead (18 years in a one-year span from 1970-1971), Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, David Bowie, The Dead, among others and was was recently re-opened this past year.  In conjunction with each night of the show, every Capital Theater ticket buyer will receive a complimetnary download which will be delivered shortly after each performance.

Two days later, My Morning Jacket will make their way up the east coast for an unforgettable New Year's Eve performance at Agganis Arena, with support for the ledgendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band.  The special New Years Eve show will not take part of the Spontaneous Curation Series in order to ensure an evening full of surprises.
Pre-sale tickets for all four shows will be available to the band's fan club Roll Call Wednesday at  via mymornngjacket.com.  Tickets for Capital Theater will go on sale to the general public, Friday at 10am EST via ticketfly.com.  Tickets for Agganis Arena will be available to the general public, Friday at 12 noon via ticketmaster.com.

Woo hoo. This is going to be awesome. Still not sure I'll be able to do this but hoping I can manage it. Will be doing the Port Chester shows leading up to this. Gotta see about taking off work for these though.

I'm still confused by the forum changes and think I may have two accounts but I'm going to make sure I get to this show!!!

I am a little surprised by the floor being seated, not GA.   Definitely a bummer for those traveling from afar and wanting to congregate at the front.

I also think that generic floor plan shown on ticketmaster may not be the final word, unless someone has read somewhere specifically otherwise.   I've seen plenty of shows where the seating chart gets revised later (MMJ MSG for ex).

If it is seated, then the importance of whether Roll Call gives us good seats or not will make or break this.   Also, whether they put us together or dot us around.   Also, how many you are allowed to buy.

Ah, the excitement and stress of pre-sales....

Northern Neighbour

Can't see the floor being seated.  I think it'll change.  And as you and I both know, a seats-only venue for a MMJ show sucks.

Crispy

I can't conceive a MMJ NYE show being seated in front, in an arena, no less. I predict GA will happen and we'll see a different seating chart on that page.

EDIT: /shaking fist at NN for thinking just like me, but faster

Sorry Ben, but the Philly Mann shows say otherwise. Two years in a row they were GREAT shows.

Besides, if it wasn't seated, we wouldn't have that pic of Johnny shining his love light.

Is The Mann the exception or the rule?  The Chicago show was not good, but I guess crowd has more to do with it than the arena setup.

Anyway, I really hope it's not seats.

Probably the crowd. Philly is a great Rock and Roll town, and the Mann rocked both times.
I liked not having to line up early for a change. We had a great group hanging in the lot til just about show time. Tons of fun, and laid back with no need to worry about getting in early.

I'm probably in the minority, but I'm hoping for seats. As long as Roll Call can come through with some prime ones.

According to a call I just made to Agganis Arena, the MMJ NYE show will have reserved seating on the floor, NOT GA.
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Northern Neighbour

Well, more time to celebrate NYE before the show.  Hopefully we all can be in the first few rows.  Let's also hope the cluster**** of the previous pre-sales will be avoided.

Northern Neighbour

I also wonder if weather is a factor, as the venue may not want anyone queueing in the cold.  Alcohol is probably another factor.
