That stage is going to be full...and YES, CARL!!!!

oistheone

I guess Jim won't be playing much guitar eh? Not that I'm complaining. I think my new plan is to set up right in front of Carl's rig. Is there anything better than having Carl rock in your face?!

And man, this lineup gets more ridiculously awesome by the minute. How much equipment can they possibly fit on one of those tent stages??! There are well over a dozen musicians already, and interviews with Ashley Capps seem to hint that there are even more surprises in store. Woo! Two weeks!

Do you folks think it is likely that a taper will be able to record this show?  Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Fully

Tapers often record the shows. I've got quite a few recordings from Bonnaroo over the years.

Fully

I can't remember them doing it, but they tape everything. Last year's superjam has had several videos released.

Looks like they are now saying no rain this year. From past experiences, it just will not feel right without some rain while Jim is there.
I am hoping that short surprise show on Sunday is a Jim and Carl acoustic set. Or hell just a Carl set would be great!

How about it being live streamed? I know a lot of the "main" shows get streamed live. Could this "Soul SuperJam" get sent out to the rest of us - live? (just-a-hopin'-and-a-wishin').

I doubt this show gets streamed live but they'll definitely be filming it.....either for DVDs or to release videos on youtube (like they're doing for last year's).

Carl!
This is just getting better and better! Whippy, I expect a sassy costume for the night out of you!!! I'm going as FIERCE: The Warrior Queen of Disco! Or I may just look really dirty and sweaty .
Miss Thing I expect no less from you.  Now, get on with your costume getting!!
anything + reverb always = better

Okay, seriously though, we'll be on the farm in a week, is no one else freaking out with excitement?!

I just know this Superjam is going to make me feel good inside, the only question is HOW good???

Well, I guess there's another question --  how early are you guys getting there? I plan on checking out SIMO and then heading over to the tent around 9:30. If we all wait together, we know who to protect when the inevitable hooligans-pushing-to-front bullshit happens. I have tremendous box-out abilities and these skills will be on full display all weekend. I'll be happy to help whoever I can!

I am definitely freaking out! Particularly since they've altered Friday's lineup slightly in order to add the Rap Superjam. Come early and strength in numbers, O.

MrWhippy

I'll be heading to the Superjam tent after Bjork.
My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

itrainmonkeys

Yea, I'll be there slightly before Bjork ends and will be down to help hold down some real estate. People definitely be arrive, rush, and push as it gets really close to the beginning of the set. Hopefully we're able to fill up a decent amount of likeminded folks.

Someone found this article/interview with John Oates talking about the Superjam.

WARNING.....apparently there are some setlist spoilers in the article....I'm skimming it but not reading the whole thing. There's a part in the article where he lets you know "BELOW ARE SPOILERS".

I read it....

:cheesy:

10 songs are named

itrainmonkeys

Yup. I skimmed past and read one or two titles but not all of them.  Wondering if there will be more and he just listed a handful. Either way...this is going to be amazing.

Sorry Mumford.....but this is my Saturday night headliner.

Surely.

He only listed one song in the encore...

oistheone

I couldn't resist reading the song titles -- thanks for posting!

I don't think any of those songs are a particular surprise, they fit the farm and the whole "all-night groove" theme perfectly! Particularly looking forward to "Shaky Ground" -- Ivan Neville did a cover of this on the farm a few years ago that was oh so tasty.

Same for me! One wonders how many others feel this way?

scosby2

I didn't read it, I saw in another article everything from prince to the band and saw where they will do no original songs(sorry if that's a spoiler but I figured that one)

scosby2

ok i looked...wow that took 5 minutes to cave...this is gonna be great...and i had already named 3 of the ones they are playing....2 of them can be found in the list of mmj covers...one has only been played once ever and I can say I've seen it live, the other one was just a hunch but I was right...wow this is gonna be great

ITR and Big Herm, and oistheone pm's sent...need your personal info so we can get together before saturday and rock out at some shows
