So we've got the lineup and the dates figured out, the final piece to this puzzle is the price. Money will most likely determine how many shows I see but I've got my eye on the Jersey, New York, Jersey run.

As long as MMJ is there, I'm thinking Jones Beach would be a nice way to spend a Saturday night!

Definitely doing Camden, and most likely Hoboken too. A little worried about the Newport Folk Fest conflict, and how that's going to play out.

You're preaching to the choir my friend.  My only  concern about those shows is if they'll actually be there because of NFF. If they are, so am I. If not I'll do a road trip another weekend, or Florida in June. Not really too concerned, just rather see them closer to home.

Woooooo Toronto date!!!

That is all.

Methinks about $100ish for a pit ticket sounds fair.

Agreed, I assume lawn will be around 45ish before handling, so that sounds about right.

Okay so something more like this?

Doors at 4

Richard Thompson - 4:30 to 5:15
My Morning Jacket - 5:45 to 7:15
Wilco - 7:45 to 9:15
Dylan - 9:45 to 11:30

Not sure how else they would do it.  I don't see Dylan going longer than MMJ or Wilco, but I think the night would end around 11:30.

Seriously man, deep breaths. You're going to give yourself a friggin heart attack.

Why speculate or worry about any of this? Just let the info come out as it will. No need for the wishful thinking. It's not going to help,IMO.  Plan on Dylan playing the longest set, and closing every show. If it works out different and we get MMJ closing some shows, it's a bonus, and we'll all be really happy. If not we still get to see them in what was supposed to be an off year.

I just don't think they'll announce that info, and I am curious as to what everyone else thinks because of that.  I don't think we will know how long the sets will be until the tour starts.  If MMJ doesn't get more than an hour and a half, and if tickets are crazy expensive, I'll have to debate whether I actually want to drop that cash.  I suppose I can always get a lawn seat, but lawn is typically hard seeing and not quite as much fun.

Maybe you should get a second job to support your habit or just do the best you can and take the lawn seat. Chill out, dude. You are driving me crazy. They haven't even announced the prices yet, and you've been bitching about setlists and timeslots all weekend. If you can't play with the big boys at least shut up about it. EricM is being nice about it, but I've got enough PMS this weekend to tell you.

Well if MMJ and Wilco are playing literally 5 minutes from where I live, I may be out for Newport. Shit what do I do?

So weird. They play a Hoboken show a mile from my apt when I'm at Newport. Pier A isn't even a real venue. Strange and I hope Jim is teleporting because traffic is ridiculous.

Decisions, decisions.

I'm gonna try for the two Florida shows if I can, and then Hoboken, and Camden, and maybe another. Really depends on how the shows will play out as far as sets go.

Probably doing the VA beach show and the MD show for sure and might do the NJ/NY/NJ  trifecta if it seems that the set lists will be sort of varied and the tix aren't outrageous.  Don't know if I can justify doing too many shows if its the same set list every night.

I will admit I'm not thrilled with the prospect of Jim juggling MMJ tour dates with his solo show the weekend of the NFF. I was hoping we'd see some interesting collabs at Newport this year.

I'm a bit skeptical about that whole weekend of shows. I don't see JJ leaving NFF early, or not being there the whole weekend for that matter, given his history there, and love for the fest. I also don't see how he could make Hoboken,Jones Beach, and Camden unless he did either skip NFF or only be there for his show. Even if he just did his show at NFF, that makes four shows in three days!  Something's gotta give, no?

It does appear Jim has got himself double booked!  Something's gotta give.  I'm not thrilled with seeing 3+ bands over a 6 hour period in reserved seating at a McAmphitheater.  That, and I might be moving to Iowa- a bit of a game changer...

Iowa, where there are more pigs than people! I went to school at Drake (Des Moines) so Iowa is my old stomping grounds! Where are you thinking of moving to in Iowa?
Iowa City or Coralville.
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Tough decision, but I'd probably choose MMJ and Wilco.

plus I'd probably go see them in Hoboken and Camden as well.

Then maybe Newport, since you have the tickets and are planning on seeing them elsewhere?

Rich - come to NFF. If Jim does make it somehow (travel in the northeast is not like other places) -- don't miss the best Fest all summer. 70-80 min sets tops (which will be awesome but still). I don't see how these commutes are doable - even with airplanes.

I'm not even considering going to things like Red Rocks half way across the country, it seems unrealistic in my situation.

Perhaps, what I said was taken out of context, but I have not been complaining about my money situation.  It isn't awful and I work decent hours.  My previous posts dealt with me not wanting to necessarily drop much more than $100 simply because MMJ would most likely play no more than 1hr 30min.  That has little to do with my money situation and more to do with whether that kind of $$ is worth a short set.

With all of that said, as much as I'd like to work 40 hours during the school year it is not practical in my situation.  I used to be a Comp Eng major, and physics got the best of my grade.  My scholarship requires a 3.3 GPA to maintain, and I dipped below that.  I have since switched majors to something more fitting and I am on the up and up with my GPA.  I'm almost off of my scholarship probation, but in the meantime, a near full ride with honors to college is much more important than picking hours up at work to risk losing it.

But yes, summer is a different story, and I always work more then.

I was just trying to have some harmless speculation at these such things without all of the harassment, but then again I am surely an asshole .

Weird but it's not that big.  I lived 3 blocks from there for 8 years. It wasn't even big enough for us to play ultimate frisbee. It looks bigger in that pic. Prolem is the only ways in there are the path trains. Driving in on a Friday isn't much of an option (no parking other than a couple garages). I can see it being a nightmare. Best option is train it to Jersey City and walk the path on the water over.

Yes you have. I've had to listen to you go whine all weekend about joining rollcall. Nobody is making you join it, and we all have financial resposibilities. You just don't get it. This thread is over 8 pages long and at least half of it is you whining or griping about something as if the band should just play you a special show because you only been to a few of them. That's not how it works. Ewind was trying to help you save face and you didn't even get that he was lending you a hand up. You started justifying all this crap. We've been to college, we've had to keep scholarships, we have kids, and mortgages, and jobs, and lots of responsibilities. I know you are a kid and I've tried to keep my mouth shut, but just stop.

It's not fun but its what I have to do to be able to go to red rocks, etc when I want to. Just sayin, you get back what you put in, and it's ALWAYS worth it when I'm at the shows, weather it's MMJ or another band

I was just trying to have some harmless speculation at these such things without all of the harassment, but then again I am surely an asshole

Lighten up people.  I show my excitement this way.  Don't stab me.

What you don't realize is that I was trying to be nice an inspiring, and not mean. I usually don't have a filter, as many people around here know....

And are you trying to play who has a bigger dick? I can assure you that you need not worry about my schooling life. I'm doing quite myself in school and all other aspects of my life.

And no, you surely ARENT an asshole. Not by our definition round here, anyways...
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...
