I have the perfect solution.  Have a pre-sale for the pre-sales pre-sale.  :bath:

Can we please stop tweeting the actual members of the band because we couldnt get tickets?  That's embarrassing.

Completely disagree.  Complaining on this message board has brought about absolutly no results.  A couple people including myself, start tweeting and we see action.  Like it or not this band is a business.  If the companies they hire to run PR and management don't meet the needs of the fan base, I for one believe they would like to know.  Patrick pretty much confirmed this.

And it wasn't a "we couldnt get tickets" whahaa gripe.  I paid for tickets i didn't get.  I said days ago i would have rather got shut out.  I could live with that.  The 4 day head ache that followed wasn't worth it.

Roll call members not being able to even access the presale until it was over was a legitimate gripe also.  Unacceptable.

That'll work.   Especially since we're supposed to believe that none of the tix allotted for one will affect the amount available on another.    Hell, if we have enough pre, pre, pre sales we could get all the tix.

But we'll need to pay to join the Presale Presale fan club and then have to pay twenty dollars more to get the pre-sale pre-sale t-shirt so we can qualify to be able to buy the digital downloads plus pre-sale fan club membership so we can get the actual tickets for the show of which there will only be two per show guaranteed.

I understand the frustration, ive been there, i just think there has to be a better way to go about it.  There has got to be some middle ground between bitching in a forum (which is the equivalent of screaming into a pillow) and posting a complaint on patrick's twitter after he had just posted about how excited he is for the tour.  And if you must tweet, maybe be a bit more diplomatic than  "i don't love spending $40 just to have no tickets available! not cool."

For one it doesnt explain the situation correctly and for two it just comes off as having zero respect for someone who probably had nothing to do with it.  I cringed when i read that.  The more we act like that the less we will enjoy all of this and the less they will too.  Let's be adults.

Anyone gotten a voucher email for Chicago yet?
MMJ Shows 2005-2022 [30]

MMJCOBRA

I do think the complaining has reached epic proportions in relateion to the number of fans impacted.

Three things remember.  First, sh!t happens and nothing is guaranteed.  I understand the difficulties experienced by several on here but I've also heard incredible responses by fans who have been able to secure premium seats (first ten rows pit or first few rows in the balcony).  This shows that a lot of time went into getting the best tickets into the hands of their hard core fans.  I was able to get great seats to three different shows.  This is not the case for many "fan clubs"

Second, we are fans...HELLO  FANATICS....so of course, we are emotionally tied to this band.  While all the pissing and moaning on a message board is not the most constructive exploit, it's understandable considering the passion we all have.

Third, the OBH announcment is only about four months away!!! loL

While I would not use Twitter to reach out to band members and make them aware of what I perceive to be unfair/undesirable business practices being used by their fan club host company, I cannot condemn others for using it.  Isn't that ease of access part of what draws artists and fans alike to Twitter?  There are ways of making one's Twitter account and tweets more private than most of the MMJ guys do, but they choose not to use them.  That transparency is part of its allure to all parties.  No one is sitting outside of Patrick's house (I hope), demanding an opportunity to voice her/his concerns.  People are resorting to social media.  True, it would be a shame if this resulted in less communication between us and members of the band, but that is one of the many consequences that may result from what many consider to be poor choices when it comes to ticket sales.

"Presale access not guaranteed."  - I'm reading accusations of entitlement into that volley, and I frankly do not see that in this thread.  I did not get the tickets I wanted for Chicago, and was keeping my fingers crossed for some good luck in the upcoming public sales. Was I disappointed that I opened the RC Chicago ticketing page right at 10am local, only to find Pit listed as "Sold Out?"  Absolutely!  Did I wish that WU had more desirable tickets to offer RC Members?  Yup!  It wasn't until this Gilt City promotion reared its head that I began to feel that perhaps my access to tickets via WU was insufficient.  That fairly sums up my train of thought throughout the presale rollercoaster that was this week.  I don't fee l that I was guaranteed anything.  I did, however, pay for some special access, and I do not feel that I have received it.

As for the notion that venting on this forum is the equivalent of screaming into a pillow, didn't the post by AlisonHarris invalidate this more effectively than I ever could?

So you're ok with this Gilt Presale, and how it was handled?  I too was lucky, and got tix to the shows I wanted through the RC presale but that doesn't mean I like what they did here with Gilt or excuse them for it being handled the way it was.

It's my opinion this presale took tix out of the hands of Roll Callers, and  that's not cool with me. Maybe next time it's you or me who get shut out of RC tix, and have to decide if we want to pay for several downloads of an album we already committed to purchase, in order to get Gilt tix to the shows we want.

I got a confirmation email but have not gotten an email specifying what seat I got.  Has anyone gotten a seat assignment email?

Chatted with a Gilt customer service rep and he said we'd be receiving vouchers after 24 hours with seat assignments.

I just chatted with Catherine and she said that since the tickets are coming from TM it would be another day or two before vouchers are sent.

Interesting. I've only received one of two vouchers for Atlanta and there was no seat assignment anywhere. Chatted with Gilt City customer service again and they said the Fox Theatre would be handling seat assignments. Ugh. Emailed the Fox Theatre to get details.
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

my $0.02, not that anyone asked, is that it's ridiculous to have a gilt city sale before tickets go on sale to the public.   The timing is just so wrong, especially after the troubles with roll call presale.   In fact ,the whole deluxe/non-deluxe roll call with 10 and 10:30 start times for ticket purchases feels like such a lame attempt to manipulate sales into maximum profit.

Keep in mind that this is not just an isolated incident. If this was the ONLY thing that Roll Call/Wonderful Union had messed up then it'd be a different story.

We have been dealing with issues similar to this FOR YEARS. I think the amount of complaints are reasonable considering most of us have reached the boiling point of anger. I have been paying for years to be part of a fan club that doesn't deliver on it's promises and makes it more difficult at times for roll call members. It's insane.

Also, I see people saying there has to be a middle ground between bitching on a forum and tweeting the band. To that I'd say: There IS a middle ground. We've tried using it and it didn't work. It's called e-mailing the band and Roll Call/Wonderful Union and trying to get results. I know I personally have opened many tickets at Wonderful Union and I"ve also sent my fair share of e-mails. I'm absolutely sure others have as well. And what results do we get? Pretty much none. Complaints fall on deaf ears and are replied with "Thank you for your feedback, we hope to improve Roll Call going forward."

Others had a smoother process with these pre-sales. That's great. But does that mean all the people who have dealt with years of problems with something they pay good money for should just accept it?  I've hoped for years that Roll Call would change but so far it's the same old thing.
