Did anyone use ground transportation other than the $75 per person one offered at booking?  It was very convenient, especially on the way back to the airport, but it seems pretty pricey.  Just checking to see if a cheaper option worked as well.

Renting a car is not a bad idea.  It is cheaper, and there is no charge for parking at the Hard Rock.  It's a straight, easy drive from the airport to the resort.  And I felt like having a car was a nice bonus since we used it one day to go off property.

I hadn't thought about that but that is a good idea. I just checked pricing and you can rent an economy car for $75 for an entire week.

USA Transfers is very affordable - comparable in price to the bus offered by Cloud 9, but a private car.  I prefer using them.  They get a really good rating at Trip Advisor.  We used them both years - very pleased.  Starting at $120 per vehicle for Puerto Aventuras, that breaks down right away to $60 with only 2 riders.

Hmm looks like the Silver rooms are only building 1 now.  When it was announced, Silver was buildings 1 and 2, correct?

If I booked a Gold room and ended up in building 2 I'd be a little annoyed (for about 5 seconds).  Feels a bit like a bait and switch, and they jumped at the chance to sell rooms for more money.

we're in a silver room too. But we have friends that have a courtyard room. Last time it was nice because we used their are as home base during the music.

I seem to recall Bldg 2 being part of the Silver pricing when the announcement came out.

Right.  At the beginning, Gold was Buildings 3-9, then it switched to 2-9.  That's why we opted for Rock Plat-Double Sky Terrace, as it was only $150 more per person, but guaranties Buildings 5-9.
