uninspiring list of supporting bands.  more to be announced, but when?

Stevie

I dont think the lineup should make a difference to anyone who planned on going.  The biggest draws remain unchanged.

I decided to spend about half of what obh would have cost me and do Charlotte and the whole Chicago run and i remain happy with that decision.

Fully agree. Don't understand the people that decide to go to OBH based on supporting acts. Kind of missing the point. To each their own though.

Price increase seems a bit extreme though.

Are there any details on the alumni sale? I've only been to OBH 2, Will I get an alumni code?

If not... iso alumni code!!

Love the lineup so far. Seems a little too expensive though. That website needs some filters...I'd have to break out a spreadsheet to choose a room.

it does for those of us without unlimited disposable income, sitting on the fence, looking for reasons to justify spending that much cash.

walterfredo

If anyone isn't going to use their alumni code and would be willing to pass it on at appreciate it. Thank you.

It say they cannot be used by anyone else. I'm not sure what that exactly means but keep that in mind.
It's the art of feelin' naked in your clothes

I have no problem with this lineup. Sure I would have loved some other bands, but I'm going to see the jacket, everything else is just extra.

Zooey

I would also love an alumni code if anyone is not using theirs  <3

Same. MMJ will almost certainly bring PHJB (who I'm always happy to see, personally) out to play on several occasions. Highly likely we see that with Brittany Howard as well, given their collaborations in the past (I'll never tire of hearing them cover It Makes No Difference). Would love to see some covers on the beach (loved the OBH4 album run through sets, but that's the one thing I missed) and they have a great collection of artist to collaborate with, assuming the other acts are hanging around, of course. IMO, those moments make OBH extra special: surprise Bob Weir at OBH1, all of the covers and family feel to OBH2, Lucius bringing those Pink Floyd covers to life at 3.

Steel Pulse collabs could be really fun... a Fela Kuti Dondante maybe?

The price increase is extreme - I have always added the extra day in the beginning for the previous OBH events I went to.  If I do the same thing this time, I'm paying nearly 2K more for the trip for myself and my wife.  I'm pretty annoyed by the move to CID, seems like a giant price increase for the same event.  Unless I am missing something, the price increase doesn't come with any added value...feels very cash grab'y.

walterfredo

I think the only clear Added value is the quality of the resort. I can't speak for the quality of the venue in DR, but the hard rock was nothing special in the food was awful. I haven't been to the Moon Palace but from what I hear it is a significant upgrade. Probably doesn't warrant that level of price increase though.

This was the deciding factor for us. I just can't justify it when I assume there will be plenty of shows to travel to next year.

walterfredo

it's actually the exact same price as phish...little surprised by that. Sure it is several bands vs one, but still a little surprised.

ranyart

Definitely some expensive packages!  Moon Palace looks crazy big...

FWIW I think Lord Huron are gonna make a lot of new fans after this set! Gave me Super Lite MMJ vibes when I saw them last. Certainly enough to keep me curious.
