If we are going with theme songs they should play the song from "The Great American Hero"

Believe it or not it's just me!!!!!!!
There's Still Time.........

listening to the radio today I was surprised when I heard my favorite Stones song--"Gimme Shelter" and got to thinkin' what it would sound like MMJ style.
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

Speaking of (and reminding me that I have overdue movies), I saw The Greatest American Hero dvd in my favourite video store the other day, but sadly, it was out.

BUT, when I return these late bad boys, I'm gonna recheck.  I LOVED that show.

i think this song would be straight up their alley. "Can't Always Get What You Want" would also fit quite well.
The river is moving. The blackbird must be flying.

Has anyone already mentioned a song by Jackson C. Frank? If MMJ would for instance cover Blues Run The Game or Milk and Honey, that would truly be more than fabulous. Folk from the heart...like some of Jimmy James' songs.

Twilightzzz

i dont know if anyone already put this down b/c i'm not gonna read 10+ pages to check, but i wouldn't mind a little:

Long Black Veil (sp?)

acoustic, of course.

Wait a sec...  doesn't that exist?

Hm, nope.  (Not in my little collection anyhow.)  But yes, I agree, that would be very nice.

Chills

Allright, a stupid idea coming up.
Anybody know the song 'slut' by Todd Rundgren?
Big Star does an amazing version of this song on a live album.
It has this killer riff and a set of the funniest/sleaziest lyrics ever. Maybe they should be drunk first and Two Tone Tommy could sing it!

Can't believe this thread is so old.

I think "Space Age Love Song" by A Flock of Seagulls would actually lend itself quite well to getting Jacketeered.

I would love to hear a Pearl Jam cover, I could name a dozen or so songs -
Once, Alive, Evenflow, Jeremy, Dissident, Corduroy, Black, Elderly Woman Behind the Counter, Better Man, Nothing Man, Nothing As It Seems, I Am Mine, Man of the Hour, Yellow Ledbetter...

I'd also love to hear a Beatles cover. I could name entire albums' worth of Beatles songs... Led Zeppelin and the Doors, too.

--- and that's 2 real 4 u.

I would love to hear Love Train, they would kill that! (apologies if someone already said that!)
But seein you feels good, and its always understood.

Something from Astral Weeks?
I think Jim would kill Ballerina!

So Long Marianne by Leonard Cohen, another one for Jim.

Have the band ever covered Led Zeppelin?
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Everyone saw they've done Behind That Locked Door by George Harrison for Bloodshot Records out next week?
That thread disappeared pretty quick...

I can't wait for that!!!
