The ballad of el goodo by big star, or anything by big star

I can surely imagine supernaut! Or symptom of the universe!
Man, just thinking about Tommy Iommi's killer riffs makes me want to play those songs loud and play air guitar ;D.

But on the other hand i'm a huge big star fan too. Anybody here not knowing them should check 'em out. You should be able to find their first two albums together on one medium-priced cd in any good record store.

You can definitely hear their influence on Elliott Smith in songs like i'm in love with a girl, nighttime, blue moon, thirteen. Brilliant, one of the most underrated bands ever.

Here's another good one
Prince: Sometimes It Snows In April
I'd love to hear that

Oh Yeah, One of my favorite bands of ALL TIME....Drivin N' Cryin.

I would love to hear MMJ cover Fly Me Couragous, Scarred but Smarter or Honeysuckle Blue.
There's Still Time.........

I think Blind Melon's "Tones of Home" would sound sweet coming through Jim's vocal cords :)

Okay I guess we have enough proposals for now.  Any chance Jim or the band will read those magnificent suggestions?

If not what can we do to make sure next EP, next live show, next LP, contains some of our suggestions.

I already contacted Don corleone the second to put some extra pressure on it.

just make sure he doesn't leave any animal body parts in anybody's bed ;)

No he won't, he just happened to be run out of horse heads.  Imagine, one horse head per night during 365 days a year.  You need a big stable to pull this one off...

Luckely he has some moose heads to offer instead.  Less bloody, but it takes more space in the bed.

mmm... Moosehead.  My first drunk ever came from a few moosehead lagers, along with some gin and juice.

the Flaming Lips have covered it, but I would love to hear jim sing "Plastic Jesus" solo!

I don't care if it rains or freezes
long as I got my plastic Jesus
sittin on the dashboard of my car

comes in colors pink an dpleasant
glows in the dark cause its iridescent
take him with me when I travel far

maybe this one isn't really their style  :(

Jim specifically called out during the 2 night stand in Da Ville about Shannon Hoon's birthday, so maybe it is their style?  Dunno, thoughts on this?  I can hear similarities-subtle, mind you...

I know I would love to hear Jim's interpretation of Hoon :)

Why not a Tom waits Cover.  With a nice piano in it.

In fact, I think the jacket has all the instruments to make all kind of sounds. And in all three Lp's, the piano or synthesizer plays a rather minimalistic role.

There are a lot of possibilities there...

somehow I can't picture Jim doing the gravelly-voice thang...

A fewe folks mentioned Pearl Jam's "Alive" for best solo - I hadn't heard it in a while, but the past 3 times I've gotten in my car, I've heard it, and I've got to agree.

I'd like to hear the boys give it a try.
And I'd like to hear Jim doing "King of Carrot Flowers, Pts 1 & 2"
