Yesterday, Brian Wilson performed the entire Smile album and more on a beautiful, sunny evening in Belgium. A truly magical moment.Brian seems really to have gone through some rough times, but his supergroup guided him through a wonderful set ended with a string of hits including an amazing good vibrations and help me rhonda. MMJ just have to love the Beach Boys! I can only dream of a cover of Do It Again by our favourite band. How cool would that be 8)
However speaking of The Division Bell, what about high hopes?

If you had seen the letters from Johnny Quaid and Danny Cash when they said goodbye to the band you would know how taboo the subject of Freebird is... :-X

I believe it was Danny who said if heard anybody call out for Freebird, while he was in the crowd watching the guys play, that he would punch them in the face.  I think the guys are averse to being lumped into the prototypical southern rock scene.....

Yeah, but I love Skynard *runs for cover*.  I think Jim must have to, at some point.

anyone ever heard jim's cover of rocketman by elton john.. it's out there floating on the internet.

marktwain

Yeah, Rocketman is awesome.

But, I was just learning to the Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus, "Dirty Mac"'s version of "Yer Blues".  And, yeah, I know EVERY-fucking-Body does a Beatles cover, but I would Love to hear the boys doing Yer Blues. Man, Jim's voice would rip that to shreds!

MMJ_fanatic

hopefully (no pun intended) rocketman is going to show up on one of the Darla early recordings comps.  it is on MMJ does gold hole but would be nice to listen to in full digital sound!

J. Jones

I think Pink Floyd's Fearless would be the perfect MMJ cover. It has that sort of dreamy feel with an oppurtunity for a great MMJ hair swinging jam at the end. :)

I wouldn't mind "Planet Caravan" by Black Sabbath (or "Changes").  Anything by Buffalo Tom too :)

mmm... someone who agrees on planet caravan :) However it was already done by Mercury Rev but that can't be a problem. I don't know what was going on with Ozzy when he made that song. must have been some strange narcotics! It's a pity how many people forget the great music that band once made. their first four albums are genuine classics!
