QuoteYeah!

Also, was Louisville affected by the recent flooding?  I'm hoping the roads stay open so that I can get there from Bloomington.

Nope, we had no rain and no rise in water surface elevation of the Ohio that I've hear of yet, I'm sure it'll go up but we should be fine. I was watering the piss out of my grass this weekend, I feel bad for those folks that got hammered with rain. How's B-Town looking?

Ive got an EVIL plan babe

It's fine now.  The main drag, Kirkwood, was under waste deep water for an afternoon.  It hit suddenly so all the cars parked on Kirkwood went from dry to floating in 2 hours.
Just cause it starts off slow babe, doesn't mean I  don't have evil urges.

I may have an extra... it would require paying off my friend for the price of the LP ($20+tax). Of course you'd get to pick up a copy of the vinyl the day of the show...
any interest?

Kory I would be all over that if someone else had another extra!
My mom of all people is dying to see them and I draw the line at taking her to Waterfront Park. :) I wouldn't have the heart to go without her for the Ear Xtacy show.

Anyone with access to 2 extras please PM me! I would pay a nice sum.

Store suggests My Morning Jacket fans carpool

By Jeffrey Lee Puckett
jpuckett@courier-journal.com

When Louisville band My Morning Jacket performs tomorrow evening at ear X-tacy records, a little more than 500 fans and music industry insiders will attend.

That's a big crowd for a record store, but ear X-tacy owner John Timmons isn't expecting more than the typical problems associated with the chronically overcrowded Highlands neighborhood.

"We've done bigger in-stores and parking is always a challenge in the Highlands, but it's never been a real issue," said Timmons, who hosted The Foo Fighters in 2001 and Queens of the Stone Age last year. Each show drew close to 700 fans.

"My suggestion is to carpool, park in the neighborhood, or take the TARC," Timmons said. "Do not park at any other businesses."

Ear X-tacy, 1534 Bardstown Road, will close at 3 p.m. tomorrow so the band can set up. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the band performs at 6:30.

On-street parking begins at 6 p.m. on Bardstown Road and the ear X-tacy parking lot will be filled long before that. Off-duty traffic officers have been hired, Timmons said, to steer people away from the parking lot once it's full.

"We let the police know what we were doing because it's a weeknight, but they didn't seem too concerned," Timmons said.

Timmons limited tickets to 500 in order to maintain a comfortable crowd level but still expects the store to be "jammed." The area around the stage will be cleared of CD bins, which will be packed into a corner of the store furthest from the stage.

Tickets were given out when customers pre-bought the band's new album, "Evil Urges," which will be released tomorrow.

Fans without tickets will certainly congregate in the parking lot and on the sidewalk in front of the store. That typically happens when well-known bands perform at the store, Timmons said, but has never proven to be a problem.

"In the past, everyone at these in-stores have been very well-behaved," Timmons said. "We'll have staff outside lining people up, and everyone will have to have a ticket. There's really no need to get here until 4:30 but I'm sure people will be lining up before that. Hopefully, it won't rain."

If they do allow cameras, will you share photos on here?  :)

Kory

I've got my Nikon, earXtacy has never stopped me from shooting photos. I have even sent them a link to some of the concerts I have shot there and received a good response.
